St. Louis man admits fatally shooting rival fentanyl dealer
Robert Patrick
A St. Louis man on Monday admitted fatally shooting a rival fentanyl dealer in 2016.Armond T. Calvin, 22, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in St. Louis to one charge of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and one charge of using a firearm to commit murder in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
Calvin was part of a drug ring that used apartments at the Clinton-Peabody housing complex to store and sell fentanyl, prosecutors have said.
On Dec. 3, 2016, Calvin and others learned that a rival dealer had sold fentanyl to a prospective customer. They tracked the dealer to a location near the intersection of Oregon Avenue and Meramec Street in St. Louis, and Calvin opened fire with a .40 caliber Glock 27 with a laser sight, killing David Leslie Bryant III, prosecutors said.
Calvin’s knit hat fell off during the shooting, and investigators found his DNA on the hat. They recovered the gun in a vehicle in which Calvin was riding several months later.

“fatally shooting a rival fentanyl dealer”
I would take a “hands off” approach to that sort of thing.
I prefer trash that takes itself out also, but these idiots miss too dang often and hit innocents.
Less subsidies for house, more for ranges?
give them more ammo instead!
Word! Told my good friend that was the high Sheriff years ago to issue them all a nice Saturday Night Special with rounds on Friday afternoon, go thru the ‘hood Saturday morning policing up the bodies. Rinse and repeat and let the herd thin itself.
Thought y’all would enjoy a FGS where the trash is taking care of the other trash. Hope the pretty boy gang banger enjoys being Bubba’s new bitch.
The attached required reading linky demonstrated, again, that being able to defend yourself is not only a right, but has now become a requirement.
Older brother and I both had a surplus K98 in the mid ’60s. Believe it was KMart that had them, still in the Factory Arms Boxes, still coated in the cosmoline. $12-15 ea IIRC. Mine was stolen (yes really) in a home break-in about ’76. Fine shooting iron. Bro still has his. American Legion was running ads for some Russian captured versions for 300-400 $ a few years back. Some offers included the bayonet and the other issued pieces there of. Might’ve been one of those times when my aversion to buying sight unseen bit me on the azz.
Can also find K98s the Israelis rechambered in 7.62NATO to combine cheap surplus rifles with cheap US ammo. There is incredible irony in seeing the Israeli crest on a K98 receiver. They shoot very well, too.
So he “opened fire with a .40 caliber Glock 27 with a laser sight” huh!!
Does the fact that it had a laser sight make it a bigger crime, or is the writer just trying to show his prestige by knowing a Glock 27 is a .40cal (I did not know that…but I am not a Glock FanBoy)? Or is he just trying to squeeze out that extra $0.04 cents per word by including everything he learned from the police? [My bet is on the extra money]
Why is it that a Glock 27 is a .40cal, but a Glock 40 is a 10mm, a Glock 38 is .45 GAP, and a Glock 44 is .22LR
Come to think of it…why was their first commercial model the 17? Did they have 16 failed products?
It does not make sense in German either!?
That’s why I carry a 1911. It’s like a Glock, but for men.
The pistol was Glock’s 17th patent. Everything since is just one-up model numbers, so after the .22 caliber G44, the next wil be G45 regardless of caliber. After that, unless they decide to chamber their someday G50 in .50AE, the coincidences and Stephen Wright numbers are over.
Whiz Wheel®™ spins up:
Armond Theopolis Calvin (BLDAM) 34 x 5 = 170
David Leslie Bryant III (BLDAM/DRT) 33 x 5 = 165
