2020 election keeps bringing us to new lows

A woman claims in a video being circulated on social media that two women stole a Make America Great Again hat from her Trump-supporting 7-year-old son and tore up her pro-Trump sign near where Joe Biden gave his Democratic National Convention acceptance speech.
Here’s the video to judge for yourself;
I feel bad for the kid. He’s not getting good examples from any of the so-called adults here. You can hear it in the kid’s voice when he’s pleading with his mom to call 911, while she continues to pursue a fight. Despite what she claims, the video doesn’t show them assaulting the kid. They do certainly take his hat, but it’s off his head by the time they do it on video.
Is it good to steal a little kid’s hat? No, you’re a terrible person if you steal from small children. That “lady” knows it’s a kid’s hat she’s taking. If you want to show the kid that your “big tent” party is truly tolerant and accepting, then why touch the hat at all except to give it back to him. You can have political discourse without being mean, spiteful, and petty.
Both sides can learn from this. Don’t be a dick would be a good message for all involved parties. There’s no need to chase people committing crimes and starting fights with them. It does not help your position at all.
