US calls for shower rules to be eased after Trump hair complaints
This sounds like a Babylon Bee or The Onion article but isn’t. The BBC is reporting that after complaints from President Trump about a lack of flow from regulation shower heads that they are trying to change.
In 1992, we ushered in the “low flow” era. Things have improved in quality, but I think we can all remember the first time we used a “new” shower head and were left with a soapy mess in our hair. Then there was that decade or so of toilets that couldn’t really flush a proper deuce. The regulation from ’92 limits fixtures to 2.5 gallons per minute for the whole fixture. The Trump administration wants this to be relaxed and apply to each jet, not the total.
Personally, I just remove the restrictor in every new fixture I install. I’m sure most people do. I know at least two plumbers that do it on every job as well. They say if they don’t, they get called back immediately because, “It isn’t working.” So this would seem to be another pointless regulation.
This segment from the article sounds so like satire I had to double check to see if it was real;
Andrew deLaski, executive director of the energy conservation group Appliance Standards Awareness Project, said the proposal was “silly”.
With four or five or more nozzles, “you could have 10, 15 gallons per minute powering out of the showerhead, literally probably washing you out of the bathroom,” he told the Associated Press news agency.

Jerry and Kramer are likely thrilled to hear about this change. No more buying black market shower heads out of a van in an alley.
Category: Trump!
I not only removed the restrictor I used a welding tip cleaner
to bore out each jet and jacked up the system pressure to 75/55.
You can do that when you own the well, pump and pressure tank.
Now it’s just like the showers in high school back in the 60’s.
Oh wait…..they don’t have gym class anymore so no shower needed.
Had to do the same here at Firebase Magnolia when I started the renovations in ’10. Modified all the fixtures before they were even installed. The toilets were NOS that had been in a long closed down plumbers storage building. I’m sitting on top of a yuuuge underground aquifer, with a deep well and water for days. When I purchased this property, I insisted that any mineral/water rights were assigned to the deed.
Shower head not providing a proper stream? Go to Menard’s and pick out what you like. Maybe I should send the sale papers to dTrump and tell him to pick out his own choice.
All that nonsense from the previous era is just that: nonsense. No water is “saved” by strictures; you end up running the faucet longer to get the same volume, so where’s the advantage to it, again?
Mine is fine. Gets everything wet and then rinses everything clean. Doesn’t drip when I shut it off. Quite happy with it.
I just need a new garbage disposal in the kitchen sink, but it can wait until Spring. Not that big a deal.
Here’s instructions on how to remove the flow restricter from your shower head.

BUTbutbut what about what the inventoroftheinternet Al gore Junior says about being ManBearPig…
MEH, fuck it, articles came out a few years about about how the modern low-volume flush toilet DO NOT put out enough water to push a good-sized brown nugget down the pipes in urban sewers and it has resulted in sewer pipes getting plugged as a result, read the “Cons”:

So I won’t shower anyone about the mysteries and thrills of shower heads or the toilet bowl low water flow, I won’t comment about it and I’m pretty sewer about it.
In the wake of the Ty-D-bol man….
Always drilled mine out, also. And it’s amazing where you can find toilets that can handle a proper deuce…
