World: We are all laughing at you now, ha ha. United States: Who cares? (The Donald Win)

Just think of what people in other countries would think of America! This was in response to my intent to vote for Trump in 2016. My response? Until the world [lists of American accomplishments/leadership] I could care less what the world thought. Enjoy your weekend.

    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-awards-medal-of-freedom-to-military-hero-freed-more-than-75-hostages-in-iraq

“President Trump presented the Medal of Honor Friday to U.S. Army Sgt. Major Thomas “Patrick” Payne for his heroics in a 2015 daring raid that rescued 75 ISIS hostages from a prison in northern Iraq, with Trump praising him as “one of the bravest men anywhere in the world.”

“Payne, 36, is the first living member of the Delta Force to receive the Medal of Honor, the highest decoration a member of the military can be given.”

“Part of the 9/11 generation inspired to serve his country, Payne graduated high school in South Carolina and enlisted in the Army in 2002 as an Infantryman 11B and completed the Basic Airborne Course at Fort Benning, Ga., according to the Army. He completed his Army Ranger program in 2003.”

“In 2012, Payne stood out in a grueling physical contest among the nation’s most elite soldiers. He and his teammate won the Best Ranger Competition at Fort Benning.”

“In all, Payne has deployed 17 times for Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn and Operation Inherent Resolve.”

“The candidate was also filmed beating an effigy of Kroll and his wife in their own driveway.”

“The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association board voted this week to back Republican challengers instead of Democratic incumbents. The association, which represents more than 10,000 officers, had endorsed DFL candidates in both races.”

“Minneapolis state house candidate John Thompson stood outside the police union leader’s home and and gave an expletive-laden speech to a crowd of Black Lives Matter demonstrators in August.”

Sailors, Marines Can No Longer Use Hemp Products To Fight Frizz, Soften Skin, Navy Says”

    https://www.stripes.com/news/navy/sailors-marines-can-no-longer-use-hemp-products-to-fight-frizz-soften-skin-navy-says-1.644354

“The Navy has banned sailors and Marines from using shampoos, lotions and soaps made with hemp or cannabidiol, one of the main active compounds in cannabis plants, it said in a statement.”

“At issue is the possibility that such products could contain too much of the psychoactive compound found in pot called tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, and their use could “negatively impact mission readiness and disqualify a sailor from continued service,” said the statement released Friday.”

“The Navy banned the use of topical products made with hemp or its derivatives in a July 24 administrative message, saying it’s impossible for consumers to determine how much THC such products contain based on label claims that may be untrustworthy. The policy warns that the use of hemp-based or products containing cannabidiol, or CBD, risks interference with the department’s drug testing program.”

“The policy’s goal is to prevent service members from unknowingly consuming THC in any amount, the Navy said last week.”

Question regarding SGM Payne’s Basic Parachutist Wings.

Since he has Master Military Freefall wings, wouldn’t at least some of the same requirements port over to the requirements for senior/master parachutist wings? I retired just a few weeks before this new badge was being awarded, so didn’t even know it existed until a couple of years ago.

Just wondering why he doesn’t also have a Master Parachutist badge.

Mebbys he has everything except the five mass tactical jumps??? … I guess you can’t count 12 free-fallers as “Mass-Tac”.

    • rgr1480 says:

Oops … this should append below Ninja’s post re SGM Payne receiving the Medal of Honor.

    • Sapper3307 says:

Black ops tend to skip the static line mass tactical stuff. One problem is getting jump master slots for a large scale jump (lots of birds, 1000+ jumpers) they are used to small scale jumps . They would come down the street (82nd) sometimes and ask for JM/Safety slots to get the correct numbers for the master wings. Or just stay in unit and work on master freefall/HALO wings.

    DID YOU KNOW…?
Did one of America’s cleanest and most beloved comedians have an unusual secret?
    By Commissioner Wretched

Getting the next 200 columns started in style!

    Ah, September.

The end of the summer – unofficially Labor Day weekend, officially later in the month.

Labor Day has always had a special meaning to me, because for 25 years I worked with the Muscular Dystrophy Association on the annual Jerry Lewis Telethon.

Beginning as an overnight local phone operator in 1976 and finishing up as a local pledge center coordinator in 2001, whatever my family wanted to do for the holiday took second place to helping raise money to fight Muscular Dystrophy. I enjoyed every minute of my time with the organization, and would do it all over again in a heartbeat – if Jerry Lewis was still involved. I still don’t understand why the organization forced out the man who raised more than two billion dollars for them, but that’s above my pay grade.

    I admired that man’s work.

I also admire trivia. So let’s get to the first of September bunch gathered just for you!

    Did you know …

… cigarette smoking killed more people in the 20th century than both world wars, combined? According to the World Health Organization, smoking took about 100,000,000 lives globally between 1901-2000. By comparison, if you add the total lives lost in both World War I (1914-1918) and World War II (1939-1945), you get about 88,000,000. (No matter how you parse it, it’s way way too many.)

… a passenger jet had to make a “dead-stick” landing because it ran out fuel based on a manufacturer’s error? An Air Canada jet made an emergency, powerless landing in 1983 because it ran out of fuel. Why did it run out of fuel? Because Boeing, the U.S. company that built and sold the 767 jet to Air Canada, failed to convert the jet’s fuel needs from pounds to kilograms (Canada is on the metric system). Fuel gauges in the cockpit – which were shown in pounds – were not operational, and the ground crew simply didn’t put enough gas into the tank. It is believed that this was the first-ever emergency “dead-stick” landing of a commercial passenger jet in history, and because the landing was forced at a former Royal Canadian Air Force base at Gimli, is now known to history as the “Gimli Glider.”

… there has never been a recorded earthquake in North Dakota? (Not a whole lot of anything else happens in North Dakota, either.)

… in countless retellings of the fairy tale “Cinderella,” the wrong shoe is left behind? In the original tale, Cinderella (or Aschenputtel, as she was originally called) lost her right shoe at the foot of the grand staircase following the Prince’s ball, and it was that shoe that the Prince used to try and find her. But in the translation of the tale from Old French to Middle French, the shoe was inexplicably changed to the left. Additional trivia note: The same translator made another, more important error. Originally, Cinderella’s shoes were a soft, white ermine fur. But the Old French word for “fur” was similar to the Middle French word for “glass,” and … well, you know the rest. (We know, we know.)

… winners in the 1936 Olympics received a very unique gift? In addition to their gold medals, winners at the Games held in Berlin were also each given an oak tree by Adolf Hitler (1889-1945). (Just another way to show Hitler was nuts.)

… a shrimp’s heart is in its head? (And its brain is in its … uh … never mind.)

… one of America’s most beloved comedians had a very interesting secret? Red Skelton (1913-1997), creator of some of comedy’s most memorable characters – the Mean Widdle Kid, Clem Kadiddlehopper, Freddie the Freeloader, and many more – always presented a squeaky-clean show to his television audiences, never uttering or allowing others to utter a curse word or even a “blue” thought. This came at a price, however – Skelton’s contract with his network, CBS, allowed him to do a full dress rehearsal prior to his taped program to “get it out of his system.” Skelton was well known for telling some of the most ribald jokes and stories, and in order to make sure they didn’t air, he had to tell them in rehearsal. Additional trivia note: Skelton almost sued a cartoon voice actor, Bill Scott (1920-1985), because the voice Scott used for the character of Bullwinkle the Moose on “Rocky and his Friends” was very similar to the voice Skelton used for the Clem Kadiddlehopper character. After Scott adjusted the voice, Skelton did not sue. (Hey, Rocky, watch me pull a lawsuit out of my hat!)

… the author of one of literature’s classic children’s books hated kids? Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888), author of “Little Women” and its sequels, actually had an intense dislike for children. She only wrote the novel because her publisher asked her to. Alcott never married and never had children. She began her literary career writing passionate, fiery novels under the pen name of A.M. Barnard. (One doesn’t have to like kids to write for them, but it helps.)

… a bolt of lightning was the deciding factor in a soccer match? In October of 1998, a soccer match was taking place in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, when lightning struck the pitch. All eleven members of the visiting team were killed by the strike, while the home team was unhurt. (Wonder how the final score was put down in the record book?)

… adjusted for inflation, the average U.S. worker’s hourly wage has only risen by one percent since 1979? (Yes, and I’ve been meaning to talk to my publisher about that – when I gather the nerve.)

    Now … you know!

    https://www.stripes.com/news/veterans/postal-worker-is-charged-with-stealing-narcotics-from-veterans-1.644792

“A Tazewell, Va., postal worker is facing federal charges alleging that she stole narcotics mailed to veterans by a VA medical center.”

“Ammie Hale is charged with multiple counts of theft of mail matter by officer or employee in the United States District Court Western District of Virginia.”

“During a preliminary hearing earlier this year, Hale pleaded not guilty to all counts of the charges. On Wednesday, she was granted a motion by United States Magistrate Pamela Meade Sargent to delay her trial until 2021.”

“An Aug. 18 indictment states that on Feb. 26, July 1 and Aug. 5 Hale “knowingly embezzled, stole, abstracted, and removed any article or thing contained in a letter, package, bag, or mail which came into her possession intended to be conveyed by mail …”

“A criminal complaint filed Aug. 4 by Todd C. Phillips, special agent with the United States Postal Service, states that the investigation into the thefts began in September 2019 when the Postal Service was alerted by the Salem, Va., Veterans Affairs Medical Center that four parcels containing medications mailed to veterans in Tazewell were never delivered.”

“The Salem VAMC advised all four medication parcels contained controlled narcotics including Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, and Hydromorphone,” Phillips stated in the court document. “During the course of the investigation, from September 2019 through July 2020, the USPS-OIG received a total of 44 reports from the Salem VAMC of medication parcels mailed to veterans in Tazewell, Va., that were never delivered.”

“Three additional reports of medication parcels “either found ripped open during processing or not delivered” that were not mailed by the Salem VAMC were also received, according to Phillips complaint.”

I got to thinking about who “The one who shall not be named” reminded me of. At first, I thought of my niece, the Trudeau minion; but, no, our arguments are fun, I talk – she listens, she talks – I listen. The language is always civil and the only time voices are raised is in laughter. Yes, she is a socialist who thinks any problem needs a government solution; however, we both look forward to seeing each other.
No, it is her worthless brother, a socialist who is not only a social vampire in that he sucks the energy out of any room he’s in; he is also living proof you can have a bachelor’s in science degree and still have a room temperature IQ. He embarrasses himself in any argument we have to the point his girl friend has found herself unable to successfully defend him. I got him to shut up one day by offering him a job – it scared him stupid to the point he avoids me like the plague.
Maybe someone can offer the unnamed one a job.

    • Commissar says:

“If you did you would be so damn clueless.”

        There’s a lesson here.

      • penguinman000 says:

Jesus Christ. Don’t you ever get tired of your manufactured “moral” outrage and constantly thinking you are the smartest, most experienced guy (or gal, whatever blows up your skirt) in the room?

You are literally telling a guy what occurred during an interaction with a family member when you weren’t in the room. How fusking much of a malignant narcissist do you have to be to have that kind of myopic view of the world?

I used to think you were either a troll or a misguided soul. But the more you blather on, combined with the very obvious foot prints you leave elsewhere, leads me to believe you really are completely ignorant of anything that doesn’t fit your self absorbed view of the world.

The academic and life experience of those on this board dwarfs yours. Yet you never listen. You only spout your “wisdom” to “enlighten” those of us you perceive as plebes.

You claim you were a cop but admit to working as a cop for only a year in one whole jurisdiction. Funny, a year in most states is the DCJS cut off to complete FTO. I wonder why you didn’t make it any longer…Perhaps you resigned in lieu of being fired. Perhaps you were informed that wasn’t the line of work for you. Or perhaps you couldn’t jibe with actually having to follow the rules. You can’t march to your own tune as a cop. You actually have to follow the rules or there are consequences, despite the crap you spew. If you had worked in the profession for more than 5 minutes you would’ve discovered that.

Your experience in law enforcement is the equivalent of a PVT getting the boot at a year and then going on to pontificate on the geopolitical aspects of the US military’s actions over the course of history. You don’t have the training or experience to speak about the intricacies of law enforcement. And don’t even get me started on your inane “statistics” or claims about how using templates for reporting equals bad behavior.

Or how you constantly whinge on and on in your parroted political blather differentiating between communism, socialism and how ANTIFA isn’t an organization one can join. All while refusing to define key terms, such as authoritarian or fascism. Much less give sources for your positions. You confuse theword salad you learned by route memorization at Berkley with intellectual argument. Here’s a hint for you, when attempting to establish an academic position, if you want to be taken seriously by adults, don’t rely on logically fallacious arguments. And speaking of logical fallacy…

Just because you are a middle of the road performer who managed to survive the civil affairs officer’s course at the JFKSWC, counter intel school, and DLI doesn’t make you exceptional. It simply means you were able to survive the same courses of instruction thousands before you have survived. Likely including some of the very same members on this board you look down your nose at.

And attempting to grandstand on your whole deployment to Iraq/Afghanistan in a REMF billet? Really? That’s such small dick syndrome I don’t even know where to begin excoriating you for it. You are a one hit wonder that has failed to consistently contribute in a meaningful manner.

You are a commissioned officer who is openly contemptuous of the POTUS and freely admits to participating in activity with organizations advocating for the overthrow of the US government. The fact you took an oath and feel absolutely no compulsion to adhere to it speaks volumes about your character. Not to mention plastering you photo and resume/bio all over the internet while linked to dumbassed statements like I’m referencing above shows a level of ineptitude that is staggering. I weep for any service member who is forced to suffer under your “leadership”.

But on the plus side, I seriously doubt you’ll actually be in charge of anything involving actual risk to other human beings during your “career”. Have fun explaining your idiocy when you go in for a clearance interview. Are you really dumb enough to believe that interviewers don’t review your internet habits at work or scour social media? You are the epitome of a self important dotted line on an org chart.

And the piece de resistance, you displayed a level of ignorance only a true malignant narcissist could possess when you argued with a member on this board (who clearly had the academic and professional chops to back up his argument) about the difference between science and engineering. When you were soundly and completely beaten down verbally you tucked tail and ran. No consideration for admission of your ignorance, just fleeing like a coward. I wonder how much it grates on you that your inane blathering is forever on the internets since you can’t delete it? Ignorance is forgivable. Stubborn stupidity is forever.

In the none too distant past I told you I no longer wanted to engage with you. Even more recently I advocated for you being allowed to remain. But you’ve become the written version of a turd going around spray painting buildings in my neighborhood. And I like my neighborhood. You have clearly become a net negative.

You aren’t wanted here, you bring no intellectual value to discussion, and you constantly inflate your own sense of self importance. How about you seek life elsewhere?

Fat finger’s a common bit of parlance, but I had the same inclination for other reasons. To be fair.

It’s why I actually wonder if he didn’t steal the photo, there’s only a few places that ping as hits and I’m not bored enough to Grey Hat him yet. He makes another veiled threat like he did a while back though.

He is on tape clearly saying how dangerous the virus is, how it is worse than the flu, and how risky it is for not just the elderly but even young people.

He knew the virus was serious. He knew it was a threat to the lives of citizens…

And he flat out lied and claimed it was a hoax publicly.

    This is all on audio.

And don’t even try to claim he just was trying to “prevent panic” being honest with the American people would not have induced panic.

And he constantly tries to scare the hell out of his supporters and voters in order to scare them into voting for him.

So he clearly has no concern for panicking people.

    Spooking the markets? Maybe.

Maybe he just wanted to avoid panic in the stock market.

Which is a sick minded fucking reason to lie and put lives at risk.

    • Roh-Dog says:

He may have made comments to assuage fear or panic, on or off the record, months ago… but you have a 99.74% chance of being a hyperventilating dick.

      • Commissar says:

        Bullshit.

It was not to assuage fear and panic.

And it was not off the record. He was talking to a reporter who was writing a book in interviews intended for the book.

And what the hell difference does it make if it was off the r3cord?

He lied repeatedly to the American people.

Calling the pandemic a “democratic hoax” when he knew it was real is not “assuaging fear”.

        It is flat out lying.

The guy is a grifter sociopath.

And you continuous defense of him is pathetic sycophantic cult minded beta bulkshit.

    • 11B-Mailclerk says:

You are in no position to critique the veracity of others, when yours is so often found wanting.

      • Commissar says:

No. You just can’t handle criticism of a Trump.

If it were a democrat who said these things you would be all over it.

There is far more evidence of Trump’s wrongdoing than anything Hillary did.

Yet we both know she was corrupt.

Somehow, high, you refuse to see Ttump for the lying, grifter, traitor he is.

So much for “social justice”. A couple of women are suing United Airlines over their staffing of NFL, MLB, and NCAA charter flights. When these flights are charted, the common request is for young blonde white flight attendants. One of the women suing the airline is African American. The other one is a Jewish woman. These women were not on the “preferred lists”.
