John Kerry on Inadequate Access to Ballots and Revolutions
Voter ID given that we need photo ID for a job, check cashing, getting alcohol, etc. (The Donald Win)
John Kerry spoke at the Copenhagen Democracy Summit. He talked about having better access to the ballot. Perhaps this is referencing the Democratic Party’s push for people to vote by via absentee ballot… Or for the electorate to completely vote by absentee. I have a better idea. Maybe they could advocate mandatory photo ID to cast a vote in order to make it harder to vote more than once.

“If people don’t have adequate access to the ballot, I mean that’s the stuff on which revolutions are built. If you begin to deny people the capacity of your democracy to work, even the Founding Fathers wrote in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, we have an inherent right to challenge that. And I’m worried that increasingly, people are disaffected.”
Kerry went on to imply that this caused him to lose the 2004 election to George W. Bush, and to Al Gore’s loss in 2000 as well. Conveniently enough, he seems to only use this as an excuse in elections that Democrats lose. “We’re not meeting the standard that we ought to be meeting, so I’m deeply concerned about protecting the vote,” he said.
Though he didn’t specifically mention Republicans, Kerry claimed there was a history of “certain officials of a particular party purposefully [making] it difficult for the other party to vote where they control those matters.” Though he predicted that Trump would lose in a landslide, Kerry also warned that Republicans would “pull out every stop” in the closing weeks of the race.
Despite all of this, Kerry concluded his nonsensical rant by claiming that he is still optimistic. “I’m going to continue to believe this election will not be close, we’ll have a mandate in America,” he said. “And if it is close, we’ll just have to deal with whatever the circumstances are at that time. Hopefully, we’ve laid enough groundwork, the legal barrier, that we will be well prepared.”

But, will limit my comments about Bush to simply – he could have had a cushy desk job in the ANG, but instead volunteered to become a pilot in the most dangerous (in killing those training in it) jet in the fleet at the time and excelled at it.

Interesting that depending on the position of the sun, Democrats will say that there is no evidence of election tampering when Republicans want government photo identification to vote; but then say that Republicans will steal the election. Of course, the point is moot as no one has every voted more than once by stuffing a ballot box.

When I go to vote, I don’t have to show my ID, but I do have to sign in to vote and my signature has to match the one I used to register to vote. When I lived in Chicago, aside from snarling at the dorks who were campaigning for their candidates within 50 feet of the polling place door, I had to do the same thing, but no other ID was required.
That’s sufficient for me. Because of those obnoxious fiascos in the last national election, e.g., finding more votes for Trump on recounts and boxes of ballots that hadn’t been counted, the mere idea of mail-in balloting is anathema to me.
I always show ID. Though my name is on the rolls along with my signature. My signature has changed dramatically due to hand and wrist injuries so there’s no match.

I live in a smaller populated township here in CheeseHead land. Most residents know each other or of each other. Yet, when we go to vote at the town hall, we are all required to show some sort of ID which is checked against your property address AND sign in which is checked against one on file. No exceptions and we have never had any problems. That is the way it should be.
As for John Kerry, someone really needs to run a boat up his arsch……swiftly!

I can’t find the article, but Stacey Abrams (the perennial loser cow) said that the Republicans are recruiting millions of people to stand in line at polling places to discourage minorities from voting.
