Fremont gun store owner holds man at gunpoint after attempted burglary
Police said man admitted to planning to steal guns

By JOSEPH GEHA
FREMONT — A gun store owner in Fremont held a man at gunpoint late Sunday night after the man allegedly tried to burglarize the store, according to the police and the owner’s father.

Police said the man, 24-year-old Gerardo Bravo-Infante, admitted he planned to steal guns, and was arrested and booked at Santa Rita Jail.

The incident started Sunday night sometime after 10 p.m. when Black Dog Armory owner Chuck Cunningham and his father headed to the store on 40655 Grimmer Blvd. after getting an alarm notification. Cunningham’s father, who did not want to give his name, said they didn’t find anyone there.

Police were also called; according to a summary of the incident, officers found no sign of forced entry.

A short time later, before 11 p.m., Cunningham’s father said, a man who appeared to be the same person seen on store security video activating the store’s alarm returned to the area near the shop, and Cunningham held him at gunpoint.

In “about two minutes,” police had arrived and arrested the man, Cunningham’s father said.

Police said officers contacted the suspect (Gerardo Bravo-Infante, 24 y/o) and located a loaded firearm in his vehicle.

Man shot, killed during burglary attempt at South Philadelphia gun store, police say

By Corey Davis
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Police said one person is dead following a shooting during a burglary attempt inside a South Philadelphia gun store early Tuesday.

It happened around 4:20 a.m. on the 1500 block of South Front Street in the Pennsport section of the city.

Police were called to the Firing Line Gun Range and Gun Store.

Officers said when they arrived at the store they found a man on the second floor with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene

Investigators said the gun shop owner told them he was staking out his store following an earlier burglary attempt. He said he watched the security screen show three or four men use wire cutters to break through the gate and enter the store.

The owner said he pointed his gun at the man inside the store and fired, striking him in the head. The two to three other people ran from the scene.

The Philly story bears repeating, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. 1 v 4(?) with one dropped and one winged is pretty fine shooting. Doubtless the DA will convince the wounded one to give up his fellow thug(s) currently in the wind, for some consideration come sentencing time.

“There is no doubt in my mind that millions of lives could have been saved if the people had not been “brainwashed” about gun ownership and they had been well armed. Hitler’s thugs and goons were not very brave when confronted by a gun. Gun haters always want to forget the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, which is a perfect example of how a ragtag, half starved group of Jews took up 10 handguns and made asses out of the Nazi’s.” — Theodore Haas, former prisoner of the infamous Dachau prisoner concentration camp

Dekalb County…sigh…Almost was an everyday occurance til the Chinese Flu and the riots got here.

2 out of 3, on the DRTs, as Meatloaf would say, ain’t bad. And yes the Philly Story, along with the Warsaw Story, does bear all kinds of repeating.

Gun pr0n…a poor man’s Glock? Or maybe a poorer man’s Sig? Or even, as noted in the linky…a B Movie Ray Gun Look-a-like? 😀 😉 😆

MI Ranger

The Ruger P95 is not the clone of a Glock if it came first. My first new gun was a Ruger P89DC, which looks the same just functions differently. It was very inexpensive for what you got back in the 1990s, and is understandable that it would be used a s movie prop!

Roh-Dog

‘Shooting victim’… smdmfh.
Why that when bullet sponge/catcher, idiot backstop, dude that needed shootin’ (prob the most regionally correct), ffs shootee! It ain’t a word but will save ‘victim’ for times it’s truly applicable.
