Florida man shoots, kills home intruder who was attacking his wife, police say
By Stephen Sorace
A Florida man in his 70s fatally shot a home intruder who busted through the glass front door and began attacking his wife on Tuesday, investigators said.Deputies arrived at the Panama City home around 6:05 a.m. and found 31-year-old Nathan Jerrell Edwards laying on the floor dead and a handgun on the counter, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office said.
“The husband stated he felt he could not physically stop the intruder, so he went upstairs to get his firearm,” the sheriff’s office said. “He shot the firearm multiple times, ending the threat.”
The husband, whom deputies did not name, said he was standing outside when Edwards walked up to his driveway and approached him in a threatening manner. Witnesses told deputies that Edwards was “acting erratically,” screaming and swearing.
He went into his home through the garage to get away from Edwards, according to deputies, but Edwards followed and pounded on the door to the house. He shattered the large glass panel in the front door and entered the house.

Prosecutor Says Shooting At Royalton Home Was Self-Defense
By PAT BRADLEY
A Vermont prosecutor says a non-fatal shooting at a Royalton, Vermont home was in self-defense and no charges will be filed against the man who fired the shot. The decision by the Windsor County State’s Attorney’s office was announced Tuesday by the Vermont State Police.
An investigation found that the April 15 shooting occurred when Nicholas Schultz, who had been living at the home where the shooting took place, left with a firearm and returned shortly afterward while still carrying the weapon. Schultz failed to comply with commands from the homeowner, Jason Farina, to put down his weapon. Farina fired his own gun, wounding Schultz.

Only in New York City, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, does that last article make sense. Anywhere else on the planet that’s a good shoot.

Ahhhh, a pair of DRTs and a Vermont sticky situation that turned out to be smooth as Maple Syrup. Very nice for a Thursday. Must mean there’s going to be something good on today’s menu. Gonna need it, almost out of sausage biscuits. Won’t be long before Graybeard is offering up some fresh, homegrown ‘mater sammiches. On fresh bread.
Story one is why us old folks are just gonna go ahead and shoot your deadbeat ass. Only reason I’d have to go upstairs is ’cause I didn’t have the caliber I wanted downstairs. Oh…wait…actually I do have the caliber I want, upstairs AND downstairs.
What’s stupider, toting a knife to the gun fight or the laws against self protection in Noo Yawk?
With apologies to…and in his best Bob Seger voice “Working with a Nighthawk….” Nice but rather spendy at 1395 USD MSRP. My orphaned Mossy Maverick will cook their goose and leave plenty left over for buying rounds at the O Club, baby oil and beach volleyball bets. Plus enough to buy Mick’s popcorn and sody pops at the motion picture. Real pity about the tornacane and the flooded quicksand lake/leaky boat issue.
Clicky on linky leads to The Firearm Blog rabbit hole (just keep scrolling down). Just what is needed to keep Gun Bunny occupied for awhile. I see what you did there, AW1Ed. Well played.
Yep, ‘Ed’s sneaky AF that way. The FGS thread dropped at 0600 hrs and I was on it like a perch on a cricket. Got lost in there till 0625 hrs when I made my comment. Must admit, I dove back in there afterwards. I ain’t skeered to click. The firewalls on this machine keeps me as safe as a Chippendale Dancer at Ellen DeGenerate’s or Rosie O’Damtohell’s place.
Agggghhhhh! Now THERE’S an image I can’t unsee!
Too bad about that New Yawk grocery store worker. At this stage in our un-civil society, I’m afraid that I would have stuffed the body in a meat locker and cleaned up the mess. Later, chop and grind up the body and dispose of the remains with the trash.
“Shooting, officer? What shooting? No shooting here.”
Wounded Robber: Are you going to call the police?
Store Clerk: Why? Nobody knows that you were here.
Drag the body over to the flower shop with the man eating plant, and the circle of life is complete.

Oh, we were so close to a FGS Trifecta! At least it was close anyway. Nice work Ed.
I never give up hope!!
So the cops question Schultz and all he says is I see nothing and where is my mouthpiece Col. hogan.
The dead dude in Brooklyn probably died from COVID-19.
“Everett man in his 70s fatally shoots alleged home invader”
Speaking of a good shoot, the paragraph below from the short article seems to be contradicted by the paragraph following it:
“Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit “found evidence the deceased male broke into the residence and entered a room containing firearms.” The homeowner, awakened by the noise, confronted and shot the man, police said.
Details of the confrontation are under investigation, according to the statement.”

https://komonews.com/news/local/burglar-shot-by-homeowner-in-everett
“Under the law, if someone breaks into your home, you’re allowed to use force that is reasonably necessary, police told KOMO News. But you still have to show there was an imminent threat against you, they added.
“Obviously, if there was a potential crime, then yeah – the homeowner could face charges. I just don’t know,” Snell said. “We’re gonna go where the evidence leads us.””
