The Paul Wickre Chronicles: Paul in his own words
As the legal issues raised by this situation are evaluated and the facts investigated, for the time being TAH will not allow any more comments on any of the Wickre/Monkress/APL threads. Thank you for your patience as we work through this.
(In light of yesterday’s events at the Navy Yard, I’m publishing this so you can see what we are dealing with.)
NOTE: SHould go without saying, but behave yourself in the comments. THIS WILL BE READ BY LAW ENFORCEMENT. I want to make sure they get the threat, so don’t say something dumb. Kapiche?
We haven’t posted any updates on Paul Wickre for nearly a month now. In fact, we even went a step further and locked down the threads. I wanted to briefly explain why, and show you what we are dealing with behind the scenes. We are doing this because clearly he does not intend to stop emailing and commenting here, despite numerous entreaties that he no longer contact us.
For now, we have a great attorney helping us out. (No need to send money, we are good for now.)
His name is John D. Mason, and his law practice is “Copyright Counselors” out of….Bethesda Maryland, where Paul Wickre is located, which makes it much easier. He’s also an adjunct professor at George Mason University, where I graduated from law school. But the ironic part is, he has also worked with someone we all know and love loathe: Michael Yon. (In his defense, he also has Mike Totten as a client, so he’s one for two on those guys.)
Anyway, he’s phenomenal, and I won’t clutter this up too much praising him, because he deserves his own thread and hosannas once this is over. Suffice to say that dude has helped us immeasurably, dealing with local law enforcement, Mr. Wickre’s attorney and others. And he answers my calls and questions every time I call. So, if you are writing a book or need a literary agent, call him. If you are being sued for defamation, call him. He gets my highest recommendation across the board for legal knowledge, eagerness to help, responsiveness etc.
Anyway, yes, he’s helping us deal with local law enforcement on the ground in Maryland. Since we last talked about Wickre, things went RAPIDLY south. For obvious reasons, I am going to be somewhat circumspect here. As I was about to leave the country for Cuba, Wickre decided it was time to ramp up the physical threats. Rather than talk about them in the abstract, I am going to include some of the comments we blocked from the website, and emails we received, and let his words speak for themselves.
I perceived the threat to be real enough that I contacted three FBI field offices, my local police, and the police in Maryland. All of them have responded well, albeit somewhat slower than I would have liked, since I was headed out of the country. I got a new security system for my house, and started getting my wife to understand the basics of personal security. My father in law came down to stay with her, and to teach her some basic firearms skills. Now, my house isn’t the Alamo that Jonn has created, but I daresay we can hold out until reinforcements could arrive.
Wittgenfeld thinks we are being “pussies” for contacting the police. Ok. Then I am a pussy. But I love my wife, and didn’t want her to get beaten with a baseball bat (see below) when I wasn’t there to protect her. I haven’t included Jonn and my responses to these emails and comments, because largely all I have responded with was “do not contact us, continued emails constitute harassment.”
Where do we stand now? I’m not sure what I am at liberty to discuss. I will have updates for you as soon as developments occur. But this is only the first part of what will likely be a VERY long process. Because it is our opinion that this might go far deeper than just Paul Wickre… He continues to allege that his efforts are being bankrolled by APL and Monkress (for example: he wrote that “The litigation expense of multiple firms on this puzzle is being underwritten by the Principals as below, the Wickre Family Trust, APL and Phil Monkress.”). Which means that we are exploring the possible involvement of APL and Monkress in these threats and harassment.
For now though, I give you the threats and insanity that have been going on in the background in the form of emails and unpublished comments he has submitted to the TAH website for publication.

Defamtion per se in MD. Of the 5000 posts perhaps 3000 alledge some mental illnes or alchololism. Despite never having seen one blog person, gone through a clinical trial and no judicial comments on alcoholism, The Lilyea commentaors gain ground as under the MD per se defamtion claims, as alcoholism is in fact a loahsome disease, by the original code.
Thus every commnet in this regards is defamatory. In MD 2009,we are entitled to Brodie discovery and form individual suits to the claim of alcohol abuse.WOW- A lot of money to chase 30-40 people??? [Note: This response isn’t intended to answer whether you or anyone else should be personally concerned, or be presumed to apply to the situation at hand (viz. it ain’t legal advice).]
The problems come when someone proceeding pro se (without an attorney) makes an ex parte request for a subpoena, restraining order, etc. and is less-than-candid with the facts (or otherwise untroubled by the usual sanctions). If the motion seems reasonable enough on its face, a state court trial judge, unlikely to investigate all the facts himself, may grant whatever motion is before him, unaware of how dubious it really is. Bald-face lies still take judges by surprise.
One of the biggest mistakes people make is to assume a judge has to realize how nuts the other guy is or frivolous the case is, even sometimes when all the parties are present at a hearing (trust me, having had to jump through hoops to remove all sorts of liens, etc. filed by assorted loons, this is not the case).
Indeed, like state legislators, some judges have decided this anonymous internet harassin’ needs stoppin’.
And once an order is issued, all sorts havoc can ensue (i.e., when the order is presented in another case/before another judge), even if there’s no legal merit whatsoever.
Again, look up the saga of Bret Kimberlin and Aaron walker to see how things can turn bad very quickly.
I would really love to see him try to file against us. I would especially enjoy to see it go before a Jewish judge or a Black judge. Better yet, a Black, Jewish judge. I would laugh my arse off as he read every single counter-suit for mental distress that we all filed based on his threats.

@155 JohnC, you’re missing the entire point of all of this, which is that wickre revived a thread that had been dead for some time, used abusive language and was rebuffed for it, and eventually his contact degraded to threats of harm for no other reason than he thinks he can do that and get away with it. Every bit of this was generated by his repeated visits and verbal assaults. Had he made snotty remarks and then dropped it, we wouldn’t be having this discussion. No one knew who the hell he was when he showed up in the beginning. And if you read the posts at the top, made in August, you will clearly see that while he continued his verbal abuse and threats, he was calmly told to stop contacting the blog. There was no reason for him to continue showing up here, other than his possibly getting paid to do it and/or his denial of reality, vis a vis being told to drop it and refusing to do so. In addition, he disrupted the server on repeated occasions with no other intent than to display his self-perceived power over TAH. He has failed in every way to thwart the blog owner and end the existence of TAH. He claims to have 30 addresses for people here. If that isn’t stalking, what is it? His threats of violence may be seen as mostly hot air, but as I said before, while I’ve personally put up with someone whose volatility was 99% screaming fits and 1% dangerous, wickre is 80% screaming fits and temper tantrums and 20% dangerous. As I see it, I have to be one of them. I invite you to send your $200,000 financed dopes to my address. If they were cabable of finding my driveway, they wouldn’t get past the outer security unnoticed, only to be met by over 250 pounds of determined deterrence. When I said, nothing I say should be presumed to apply to the situation at hand, I wasn’t being coy; I literally meant none of this is directed at y’all. My point was that — again, speaking of my experience in general, and in no way suggesting this applies the threats, potential merits, or anything else re the situation at hand — even if the claims be utterly, completely, totally, irredeemably frivolous, it’s not hard for a party moving ex parte to get what he’s asking for (subpoenas, peace orders, etc.). It’s like playing one-on-one against yourself (“Three. Two. One. He shoots for the game… [clank] and he’s fouled.”). For a rough comparison, it can be about as difficult as it would be to get a search warrant if one were willing to, uh, “selectively edit” what the magistrate gets.
Well. Paulsack has proven one thing for certain. Money can’t buy breeding…nor sanity..nor self-respect. It sure can buy a metric fuckton of crazy though. That’s some deep-seated crazy. I see what John C is trying to say. If a person has an attorney and only presents evidence supporting his allegations, he may get a judge to take some sort of action.
That would world if the blog had no evidence backing their side available or the legal recourse to immediately respond to Weaker. That and an extremely stupid Judge who resides under a rock.
The fact is that Paul Wickre stepped into the fray and started insulting people’s intelligence, financial status, ethnicity and career choice. Not only that he demeaned women, threatening to paddle them and calling them filthy mouthed, etc. When outed he simply got what he was giving, and public records on his behavior was posted.
He went full wicktard with hacking into phones, making threatening calls, posing as LEO, Etc.
Then came the weak sauce legal moves, DOS attacks and rather nasty threats of violence.
He was publicly made sport of, and some mean things were said about, most were just speculation based on his erratic behavior. He pretty much was engaged in the same sort of exchanges, perhaps he thought he was more righteous in his insults but they were insults just the same.
All this banter was nothing more than freedom of speech and personal opinion. The only limits set were those of the Blog owner who has every right to ban people or pull posts.
Once he crossed over into directly threatening people with guns, bats and hitmen he crossed over the line.
He is the only one who has committed a crime here.
Paulie is bat shit crazy… there is a place in some jail for him, Phil, Dallas and the others that feel that Stolen Valor only applies to “the little people”.

IIRC from when this crap with Paul K. Wickre (Google hit) started, I stated my gut instinct told me this was a jilted lover (male/female) that purposely re-ignited the Phillip D. Monkress mess(Google hit). Whether it was Wickre himself or his wife, something kept telling me that’s the direction to look and went searching public records, ect. IF and only if, Monkress has a hand in this, I am unable to make that connection. It makes far better sense to me as was mentioned earlier in this thread for Monkress to keep one hell of a lot of distance between them.

Reading at another site, I just found some information that Paul Kevin Wickre should read and attempt to comprehend: “Fear is a tricky emotion. So far, the only ones desperate or insane enough to even try to come up against Jonn and TSO was the APL lawyer who admitted to Jonn that Wickre was pissing in the wind, and a real estate lawyer who in June/July (IIRC) tried getting hold of the TAH server and shutting us down with a letter which was laughably amateurish, IMO.

I do know what you mean, though. You’re saying that much talk means no action. But that’s not always the case. Many domestic violence deaths come after months and years of threats. Plus, there’s the alco/drug factor. Some people finally get the right amount or combination of both to act on longstanding threats.

If you send in a FOIA request with someone’s name and approximate year of birth, time in service and branch they can give you a good hit. Of course if you only have the name John Smith, you wont have much luck without additional info.
We, or anyone else for that matter can post publicaly released info on ANYONE, without their consent. You cannot get private info on an individual, but you can get rank, time of service, duty assignments, training and awards. This site releases less person type info than wikipedia, so GFY
