Kevin Mundy; the mirror image airman
So, someone told me that this dude showed up at his house wearing an Air Force beret and wearing ACUs, claiming to be an Air Force secret squirrel Air Force Major. I’ve blown this picture up and it looks like he has Velcro jump wings on his rank thingie on his ACUs. But that’s probably the least of his uniform problems. Yes, I know it’s not an Air Force beret, but the Air Force doesn’t wear them like that either;
This is supposed to be him, too and it might be, because his beret is still leaning towards his Left ear, but this guy has an 82d combat patch. I’m not sure if Air Force folks are supposed to have combat patches, especially Army unit combat patches. Of course, he might have been prior service, because the uniform is the old “chocolate chip” desert BDUs, but, I don’t know of any NCO in the 82d who would let someone run around with that jacked-up beret. And a beret isn’t a field uniform, neither is having rolled up sleeves – rolled up the Army way. And the picture maybe backwards. Most men wear their watch on their left wrist, and it looks like the magazine eject button is on the wrong side of the rifle.
Thought maybe the picture was a mirror image, because he has the American flag on the wrong shoulder, too, but if it was, he’d have to be driving a British car, wouldn’t he?
But here’s his Facebook page;
Dude might be the real deal, for all I know – but his uniform says something different. And he’s not answering my messages.
Category: Shitbags
I do know a lot of NG units/facilities still use CUCV’s, or were still using them as recently as 2010. There were a lot of them (ragged out as hell, but still rolling) in use at Camp Shelby, MS as recently as then.
#50: Understood about the AF/ANG uniform problems and difficulties trying to keep everyone on same sheet paper, but why is this dude wearing an Army maroon “bray” with the 3-73 Armor crest on his flash (that’s what the “bray” looks liek to me). Somethin’ ain’t adding up here…
Soup would probably kick his ass.
One thing is for sure, that BOY is 8TFU, as in 11up, 3 down!!
Country Singer, did you HAVE to mention Camp Smelby? I still have flashbacks of copperheads everywhere every time I think of the place!! One thing is for sure, we also used CUCV’s in Convoy training when I was stuck there in early 2005 doing MOB training for A-stan. (Yeah, we were going to be in uparmored HMMWV’s, so they made us train in JUNK,..*OOPS!* CUCV’s!) A few years ago during my unit’s AT, OPFOR used them, including one with a banner saying “WHITE TOYOTA CORROLA” in the rear window, how’s that for realistic?
@43, ChipNASA, that sounds like a WASTE of a perfectly good lacrosse stick, how about a broken broomstick instead, inserted sideways?
As for the sideburns and Ron Jeremy wannabe mustache, I would say “Holy AR 670-1, Batman!”, but he’s pretending to be Air Force! (Space Ranger, maybe?)
What a tool. Jeez.
Damn, the NG still uses CUCVs? Paraphrasing Country Singer above, those poor things must be REALLY ragged out by now!
Maybe it’s just me – but the grey/green uniform he’s wearing in the photos above does NOT look like any ABUs I’ve ever seen. They appear to be ACUs to me.
I’m guessing he got them at Surplus City.
@56, CH, YES, they are.
@Hondo, that, or he dug them out of a dumpster right after the “Joe” that owned them ETS’ed and threw them out!
Okay, the whole mirror image stuff had be cracking up!
The Rifle he has appears to be a triangle shaped hand guard M-16-AR-15 is that something the AF still uses?
Just looking @ the 2nd pic again and. Is it me or does that bright spot looks like a reflection of a flash off a display case or glass of a picture frame? Speaking of frames / display cases, in the upper right corner appears to be to be the edge of same. So what museum or exhibit is it from I wonder??
-Ish
yeah guys- the Thise old chevys are still used by NG units- I have one that am signed for. I love that thing- cant kill it
But this guys is almost as bad as Gothic special forces turd
It’s fairly apparent to me that the person in the choco chips carrying the M16A1 in the second photo is NOT the same person in the first and third photos; and the shine/reflection seen in the photo means it was taken second-hand from a photo in a frame in a display or something.
NO DOUBT about that, CH, Isnala! I see that as another nail in the coffin of this poser’s story!
@63- It sure looks like the same “bray”
#65: The “bray” in the second photo appears to have a different crest and flash than the “bray” in the first/third photos. Of course, my eyes are getting old, so who knows…
Pic #2 is a photo of a photo in a frame. The glass over the framed pics caused the flash reflection. Upper right=piece of frame.
I had a platoon Sgt at Ft Bragg – I think his name was Willie Watts. I think SFC Watts would call this dude a punk-ass Mother-F**ker
OK, after all the great work you guys have been doing, I’m going to start a Clown College…
Really, guys, I think we found Soup Sandwich’s relative. He is either a cousin or uncle, or even Dad.
Any way that he is…he is a turd of the wrong kind.
Here we go, something I can actually comment on. Air Force personnel stationed with army uniforms are authorized to wear army unit patches, as long as they are assigned to an army unit, and meet the army requirements, in an army uniform. I know that Before the Air Force went to the ABU’s we would wear ACU’s with BDU tapes while in the field. The Beret is all kinds of fucked up, it’s too big, and is formed all kinds of wrong, in addition, the flash is sitting centerline, which is wrong. The only two career fields I know that wear berets and are assigned specifically to army posts, are TACPs, and weather, and only weather jumpers wear a beret. TACP’s wear a black beret, ParaWeather has a grey beret. The only AF career field that wears a maroon beret is pararescue, and they don’t wear ACUs. The only authorized duty utilities are ABUs(BDU’s prior to that). Any other utility uniform is only authorized for field exercises, or special duty requirements (i.e. jumping). So this guy, is as wrong as two boys fucking, no two ways about it.
Also, the Air Force only used ACU’s prior to the introduction of the ABU, then we got the ABS-G, which is FR. Now we use the OCP’s. Oh yeah, and that mustache is way out of regs. Not past the corners of the mouth. But what do I know, I’ve only been in 4 years, and I’m only just an Airman.
@71. If subject matter expertise were required before we could comment on something here, there would be about three or four comments per week. Chime in anytime: your opinion can’t be any worse that that of the rest of us!
The only thing genuine in this picture is that the beret looks like its been in the turret floor of a PIG. (m551a1) I was in 3/73 for 4 years. He had to have either been in the unit and transferred to airforce after it deactivated in 97. Or he got this from someone who was a Thunderbolt because the motorpool left residue on everybodys headgear. He either is ignorant to all the contrast going on or thinks everybody else is. Either way, Pararescue and a dirty ole Airborne 19Delta, don’t exist on the same uniform, and his snowcone should be a patch not pinned on. Just sayin….obviously hes not fooling anyone.
The flag is on the wrong arm. complete poser. The airforce doesn’t use ACU’s, they use some tigerstripe looking shit.
i dont know whats going on i picked him up at the armory it just dont make since to me
As far as the vehicle, when i left Germany in 98 our unit (AVN)was still using CucVs for staff vehicles. I once saw an air force E-7 on the range wearing winter pants, summer top and a baseball cap.
His Facebook page is alive and well:
https://www.facebook.com/kevin.mundy.79
I left him some love; in his “other message box”, inviting him to come over and join us.
Douchenozzle sent me a message on facebook this week… He is all kinds of stupid. Screen shot it and sent it to Jonn, but here is the text. (I have not changed one word or spelling)
Kevin Mundy
i am a combat soldre in the air force u no like the specal force we we got all cinds of uniforms even black so dont go thar
We had a limited # of CUCVs in the ARNG as late as late 90s-early 00s. Not sure if they still have them or not. I’ve seen a lot of surplus ones around too.
USC › Title 10 › Subtitle A › Part II › Chapter 45 › § 771 ›
10 USC § 771 – Unauthorized wearing prohibited
Current through Pub. L. 113-36. (See Public Laws for the current Congress.)
Except as otherwise provided by law, no person except a member of the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps, as the case may be, may wear—
(1) the uniform, or a distinctive part of the uniform, of the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps; or
(2) a uniform any part of which is similar to a distinctive part of the uniform of the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps.
I see nothing whatsoever wrong with his uniform. It is the standard Combat Pizza Delivery Uniform prescribed by Domino’s Pizza.
56 Combat Historian; I feel really old, (because I am?), but I saw a CUCV with a Antique plate on it. Whoever bought it did not do anything to it just put the plate on it. We use to call the “Cuck Trucks”.
C’mon now guys, i was AF, and I always tried to have my uniform square, even though I worked on a flightline and was constantly unrolling and rolling out AGE equipment. If you see an airman with a jacked up uniform, say something to him/her. AFI 36-2903 is quite clear on uniform and personal appearance. I was in pre-abu/acu days I got out in ’06, but yeah, this guy is hardly legit, and it would be GREAT if someone with a roof on their sleeve would see him irl. I’m actually in Indiana, i’m not sure where Mitchel is but it can’t be that far. If you’d like a prior service guy, to confront him, i’m willing.
Hi Joel this guy actually contacted me on a spin off of facebook site called come meet me and we started texting each other, my Dad was a marksman in the Army in Korea so this guy starts sending me all the pics that are on here and I started examining them too and I live a bout 200mi from this guy so I told him come up and lets meet, I get a text that he can’t come hes being sent back to Fort Bragg for more training okay so this is a RED FLAG to me so I ask him for the address of the base he is at I already knew no Air force or Army base was in Mitchell In. There is a national guard near by in Indy and a museum so I know this guy is a fraud but I keep up my concern that he may be deployed he says to Iraq I look up the address he gives me for this so called base where he says he is a Major and sattellite shows a run down house complete with him sitting on the front porch 403 West Warren St. Mitchell In.47446. So I bust him out! I am a single woman so I really pay attention to what guys tell me and this guy I knew was bs from the get go, because you cannot have cell phones on base at all nor can you have alcohol and you cannot make calls at 12 midnight. So he becomes really hostile because I figured him out and I think he has watched too many war movies thats about as close to the military he has got.
Black uniforms, huh Kevin?
Oh, dis gun b gud…
Black uniform? No, no, no, no, no, no, no!
I’ve told you, and I’ve told everyone else — the black uniform is the combat starfighter’s standard service undress lounging uniform, for informal parties and timejumps back to the 20th century to pay visits to Star Trek conventions. You wear shoulder boards with the undress Ike jacket, the color block shoulder patch shows which division you’re in, and you put the squadron badge on the back of the jacket. Everybody knows this.
When are these faker people going to get it right? Do I have to send them pictures again?
Maggot.
@86 I still have my issued Black jacket, the pants wore out pretty quick… We were issued Black “BDU’s” in Hohenfels, Germany as a part of our OPFOR Uniform, complete with Black Beret (before the whole Army was given it).
That said, this guy is as intelligent as a bag of rocks, or took some serious blows to the head at some point. Wearing the 73rd Armored Flash and Crest on his Beret and trying to pass it off as a part of his “specal ops” uniform is fucking laughable as hell. Dude is softer than puppy shit, has to be to think anyone would buy his line of Bull Shit.
He’s a “combat soldre in the air force”. Well, that settles it, then. He’s the real deal.
PH2…remember the old winter working blues the Navy used to have? Gawd I hated those. So glad I only had to deal with them in recruiting. We either called them Johnny Cash or Hitler Youth uniforms. Butt-ass ugly, they were.
I remember the salt and peppers and the combination hats for E6 and below
NHSparky, are you talking about your sixteens?
Those were the wool pants with no lining and sixten buttons on the front flap, just like in the olden times.
Do I remember those? Of course I do!!! They were not supposed to be bell bottom pants, but they were ALL bell bottoms.
I just want to know — and I did mean to ask earlier — if he was a combat soldre, was he lead flux or steel flux?
Or was he just base metal flux?
And what size soldreing iron was he? Was he a battery-powered iron or wired?
PH2, he’s not talking about the Cracker Jacks (13 buttons to paradise).
He means the old black pants, black long sleeved shirt with a black tie and black garrison cap.

OH. MY. GOD.
No, I had left the Navy before that idiotic look was put in place. That must have been when the WAVES were supposed to start wearing a beret on the back of the head, which would NOT stay in place without a hat pin.
I will never understand people who thought the light blues summer uniform (light green for WACs) should have been done away with. It was modern, it looked good even on chunky women, and it was easy to take care of. (See Members Gallery for sample.)
@79, 89, A “combat soldre in the air force”? What if he was acid core lead soldre? Then he’d be corrosive AND toxic! As Mr. Bill would say, “OH, NOOOOOOOOOOO!”.
Kevin Mundy at Dennys in April, 2013. Out of uniform here, but he got picked up at the Armory in full array earlier. I don’t think he meets ‘height/weight standards’. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=306762969462042&set=a.105304809607860.7229.100003850246311&type=1
@93, I think it is not a matter of him being lead flux, but of him probably eating a lot of lead paint as a kid.
More from the idiot, just in as i was posting…

Kevin Mundy
thar are read beret s in the air force look it up gess u dont no alout about the military so get off my fucking back ok dont right no more got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PH2–no, those were the dress blues. And those were still in when I got out, and I hope they never do away with those.
It was 13 buttons, BTW. And I’m old enough to have gotten “liberty piping” on my jumper top and “Marine Bib” embroidered on the flap on the dress blues pants…(smile.)
