Tim Scott named to replace DeMint

| December 17, 2012

So, South Carolina governor, Nikki Haley has named a replacement for Jim DeMint as a US Senator for the state. It’s Tim Scott, according to the New York Times;

Mr. Scott, 47, also offers a unique story and background, one that is in scant supply in the Republican Party right now. Raised by a single mother, he was, by his account, a lost child who struggled with school and with life until a Chick-fil-A franchise owner took him on as a protégé and schooled him in conservative principles.

“Coming from a single-parent household and almost flunking out of high school,” Mr. Scott said in 2010, during his bid for the House, “my hope is I will take that experience and help people bring out the best that they can be.”

Of course, Tim Scott is Black, and since the Republicans are supposed to be racists, Democrats and Liberals have been Tweeting racist shit about Scott all day, according to Twitchy.

Now, I’m just guessing, but I think the reason that there are so few blacks who are Republicans because of the way they’re treated by the Democrat Party. Who wants to be treated in their neighborhood like Michael Steele, Herman Cain, Clarence Thomas, Allen West and Condoleezza Rice?

I’ve seen some of them get worked over verbally by their peers and it’s not a pretty sight. Conservatives, on principle, don’t do well reaching out to minorities because we see everyone as equal regardless of superficial things like skin color. But since Liberals are all about superficial and irrelevant differences and completely emotional with no real principles beyond undermining the principles that built this country, somehow they attract people who see their superficial differences as the main thing that defines them as people and voters.

@49 – It originated from a highly respected conservative think tank called The Heritage Foundation.

It was derived from the recognition that escalating health care costs would eventually bankrupt this country.

The GAO has repeatedly determined that such a plan would reduce the national deficit in the long run.

Republicans are now against it simply because Democrats are for it.

They’re also afraid it might work.

She cheated on her husband”

You know…I remember when Obama said insurance premiums were going to be lower under Obamacare.

“Major health insurance companies have been charging sharply higher premiums this year, outstripping any growth in workers’ wages and creating more uncertainty for the Obama administration and employers who are struggling to drive down an unrelenting rise in medical costs.”

I also remember when a Senator said that $4 trillion debt was unpatriotic.

And my taxes are higher under Obama than Bush.

Three Dollar Bill: no, you’re the one full of it – dipstick. Ever hear of something called “progressive taxation”?

Obama “tax cuts”? Please. Income tax rates have been exactly the same, with brackets indexed for inflation, since 1 Jan 2003. The only real “tax cut” I know of under the Obama Administration was a temporary 2% reduction in Social Security taxes set to expire on 31 Dec 2012. And even that came with a cost: the Federal government made up the difference to the Social Security Trust Fund. All we did there was to defer paying for that for a few years by incurring additional Federal debt. And it will cost us more due to the interest we’ll have to pay in the interim.

And tax rates are set to go up on 1 Jan – or did you forget that?

I will guarantee you that my income rising has meant my taxes have been far higher – both in absolute and percentage terms – than they were prior to Jan 2009. And, as I said: they’re also going up substantially on 1 Jan.

Quit lying.

Nik: you’re not going to get an answer from this tool. He’ll sidestep it, just like he did the issue of Bill Clinton (allegedly) raping Juanita Broaddrick. He’s bringing up Palin as a smokescreen to change the subject. Now that you’ve called him on that, he’ll move on to another smokescreen or ignore the question. Or maybe he’ll site some unverifiable source based on innuendo and hearsay to further confuse the issue.

Transparent, and predictable. These tools all pretty much follow the same playbook.

Taxes. Tax cuts?

The tax cuts that are about to expire on January 1, 2013, were created during the Bush Administration. There have been NO OTHER TAX CUTS since then.

Hondo, is it possible that the Term “denial of reality” can be applied to the full spectrum of trolls that erupted on TAH since Friday’s appalling event?
