Daniel A. Bernath; phony CPO

| December 11, 2013

Editor’s Note: Daniel A. Bernath passed away on January 21, 2018

Daniel Bernath

Scotty sent this to us over the weekend and I was holding on to it for a drought, but our own Ex-PH2 was excited that Daniel A. Bernath was a PH2, too. Just by looking at the rank on his sleeve, you can tell he’s a phony since, instead of laying out the bucks for new rank, he had a stripe embroidered on the sleeve. He has service stripes for twenty years of service, but his FOIA tells a different story;

3 years and change in active service, and a couple of years in the Reserves. Now let’s do some math – you’ll need most of your fingers, he’s wearing seven awards in the picture and the FOIA says that he has five. Well, finally we got a Navy phony who is not a SEAL.

Best possible outcome: When he looses the suit against everyone but himself for running out of fuel while piloting his own aircraft he will be permanently disbarred throughout the world for legal malpractice.

@EH-PH2

“That you faked a letter from a man who lay dying in a nursing home, someone who served in World War II honorably, had a long, distinguished career in the Navy, and who transferred from the Yorktown less than four months after you joined the crew as an AN?”

I was wondering about the timing on that The time between the “letter” in question and the individual passing was June-November 2006. All the “letters” he posted up have the exact same writing style and phrases. There seems to be at least one of those individuals who is still active in the VFW in SC. I wonder if he is aware of this letter, wrote it, or knows about the ass-hattery of Danny-boy.

Laughing Wolf

Ex-PH2: Aim to please, since others are firing for effect on this dipshit. 🙂

As a pilot: If he was a sport pilot designation, he is not required to have a medical. If Private or other full-pilot, you do have to pass at least a Class 3 (third class) physical. Class of exam goes up with levels of pilot.

One thing I can say, I’ve never met a program that didn’t cover — extensively — keeping an eye on fuel. More than one pilot has gone down because they didn’t keep an eye out, or bother to learn how to switch between tanks in planes that didn’t have an auto-pull feature. Take a look at John Denver and what happened to him. Only an idiot or someone truly desperate takes off with low fuel; and, if you land at an airport without fuel you find a ride to go get something that will work as AvGas or to the nearest airport with AvGas and a gas can for use/rent/sale.

I’m not one with a lot of hours (though I have a logbook with but one entry to cover my familiarization check-ride in a B-24J Liberator: my normal logbook was in storage when I won that), but I agree with all the pilots who are making the comments about Buttblast Bernath and laughing at him and his lawsuit.

Oh, and my name is Red Foreman, and you’re a dumbass.

Laughing Wolf

Oh, and only a frackin idiot gets in a plane and takes off without learning about the fuel system, what is required to switch between tanks if necessary, and the level of fuel in all tanks. Double so if they own it.

Found another professional photo of Daniel A. Bernath. Just saying I’m waiting for his next load. 😀

So, Daniel A. Bernath, are you actually going on a cruise, or are you looking for a good “slip and fall” to sue over looking for a fast buck? OOOOH, you’re going on a cruise, just like Paul K Wickre said he’d just bought a new Aston Martin or Jaguar!!
Jonn pegged it in #490, that, and a hunk of scrap metal kinda shaped like an airplane!! Still gonna SUE ME too? Here’s another hint: I don’t live in Alaska or Hawaii, either!! Oh, and I’M NOT Spartacus, either!

Bernath, what is everyone jealous of again? Your mad Photoshop skills? That must be it. Doofus. Next time you should get my 7 year old niece to do it for you. It would look lots better.

ExHack

@490: Jonn, I love you. Nonsexually, of course.

Mr. Blue

Wonder if we can get Bernie and DullAss to go flying together? Maybe with Psual as a passenger?

Ex-PH2

OldDog, et al., CAPT Bennett was a WWII, Korean War and Vietnam vet. He died of congestive heart failure. That isn’t a cardiac event like a heart attack. It is a lengthy process that not only impairs heart function, but also impacts circulation. My mother died of congestive heart failure, so I saw what it does to people firsthand.

In less than a year, both short term and long term memory will begin to decline, sometimes very badly, and as with my mother, the person who has this condition will not recognize people he was close to and may not even known who he is. My mother was 92 when she was diagnosed with this and starting to lose her memory. She also thought she was pregnant. 🙂 Six months later, she no longer recognized me or my sister and brother.

It’s very similar to senile dementia in the way impaired circulation kills off brain cells. At some point, the person who has this condition becomes unable to function, even unable to feed himself.

It is NOT Alzheimer’s. That’s a completely different disease.

If he was in a nursing home with this condition, by the time 2006 came around, it’s quite likely he had begun to lose his memory, and by the few months before he died, he was most likely simply lying in bed, unaware of his surroundings.

Therefore, the probability the he’d have written a LOR for someone on the Yorktown 38 years earlier is well beyond unlikely. CAPT Bennett is interred in Arlington Cemetery, if anyone ever wants to pay him a visit.

This self-aggrandizing abuse of the lives and careers of other people by this fraudulent clown Bernath is beyond despicable.

OK, Bernath, you got our attention. We’ll give you all the attention you want. How do you like it so far? Does it suck? Oh, no, wait — YOU DO! You don’t have one decent bone in your body.

ExHack

Nice deductive work, Ex. Gods, you rock.

@506 – I’m working on getting my private pilot license. I’ve only got about 15 hours, and haven’t even soloed yet, but I know better than to take off with less than minimum fuel. WTF! Haha.

Basically I wrote this to say I’m insanely jealous of your B-24 check ride. That would have been an awesome logbook entry! Like…really awesome… That’s all.

Ohh, and Daniel Bernath is a shitty human being.

Ex-PH2

ExHack, here to serve.

Oh, yeah – bubble-butt bernutsky, other people in places other than TAH know about your asinine claims.

OOOH! It’s REAL NAME TIME again: I’m Felonious Primrose Parsnip. I live in a quaint straw-thatched cottage in the English countryside, and raise rabbits and fender-benders for sale at the local farmer’s market on the third Tuesday of each week. Reasonable prices, all freshly plucked.

Smooches!!! <3

Ex-PH2

@515 – E-6 type, 1ea – some day, go to the EAA fly-in at Oshkosh, WI. You will enjoy it. A lot. Take pictures.

OWB

So, there’s a good chance that he is also lying about the pilot license? What a jerk.

Yeah, to hold a license, or get one in the first place, you need to take a physical. And the physician who signs you off must be specifically OK’d by the FAA to do so – you can’t just walk into any docs office to get a flight physical. Yeah, being so disabled as to need crutches would probably be disqualifying. Of course, as whiny a bastard as he is, can’t you just hear the fit he pitched in the doctor’s office when told that?

Wonder if he even knows that he needed that flight physical prior to doing his solo thing?

Yeah, those are old rules, but does anyone seriously think that the rules have gotten easier in the past few years. Naw, me either.

Of course, the more likely scenario is that he is not disabled in any way (beyond being mentally defective), did pass a flight physical, and is lying about all the disabilities.

Or he could be lying about all of it. Really, bragging about what a shining example of success he is as he tells us that he didn’t get a pilot license until age 62. Wonder what he had to promise that flight instructor!

Laughing Wolf

#515, E-6 type, 1 ea — I will second the motion to go to EAA. It is amazing, but have money as there are so many things you can get there… I worked out all the instruments for the glass cockpit for the plane I wanted, as well as all the bells, whistles, and support gear. *G* Almost got to co-pilot the Ford Tri-motor, but had one other passenger who beat me out on qualifications. 🙂

The B-24 ride was one of the few things I’ve ever won in my life, and the best bit of flying I ever did was getting to the airport in time as I was quite late getting the notice. What was normally a 45-60 min trip was done in about 20-25. My old pickup could fly when it had to… I think it is the Collins (Collings?) Foundation out of Mass. that takes it and a B-17 around as mobile history lessons, and they offer paid rides and the chance to win a ride. Either is worth doing!

Good luck and have fun with the process! Clear skies!

Oh, and Buttblast Bernath? The name’s Bond, James Bond. I should have known M wouldn’t put me up in the finest milblog without a catch…

ExHack

Ex – faking a letter of recommendation from a dead or dying man who had lived a life of honor is indeed beyond despicable. It’s the equivalent of robbing graves and pulling gold fillings out of the teeth of the dead. But it’s all in a day’s ‘work’ for Phony Chief Daniel A. Bernath, Fecal Stain.

Gotta love his daily check ins. He’s about due to start telling us AS TO his concours-winning 1980s-vintage Jaguars.

Bernath, you’ve only made a mockery of yourself. Western School of Law? That’s about four steps below the “can you draw this bunny” art school.

In case anyone was curious, Western School of Law is also the same place one Oily Taint, she of the “birther” conspiracy crap, claims as an alma mater.

Oh, and Bernath? You called boot camp tough? Newsflash, sweet cheeks–it was a fucking joke compared to some of the shit I and many others here have experienced.

Color me unimpressed. Still.

Oh, and my name? Hi, my name is (hi!) my name is (hi!) my name is (chicka-chicka) Slim Shady!

Just An Old Dog

@513
EX-PH2,
I kind of figured as much. The flowery prose and flattering description of Bernath was much more likely something he cranked out and not something that someone in command of over 1,000 men and a ship would recall after 38 years. Much less a man in his 80s suffering from a disease that probably had left him unable to function at a basic level for an extended period of time.
Another thing thats not adding up. We pretty much all agree that an “honorary CPO” title not awarded by the USN or USCG is fluff, but exactly what is this organization that gave him this “title”? Do they even exist? Where is the letter proclaiming him an honorary CPO? Who voted on this? Who signed it? What are their names and Points of Contact? Bernath you are probably reading this. If you are give us this information so we can clear up who caused this mess. I’m sure some of the real chiefs on here can speak with them and figure out how to get you the real deal Honorary CPO title from the CPON.
I’m not betting on that happening.

Ex-PH2

I can see quite plainly that we have two gen-you-wine featherheads here in Laughing Wolf and E-6typ, 1ea, so you two guys will enjoy knowing that a ‘flying pencil’ Luftwaffe bomber was raised from the English Channel successfully and is being restored in the British RAF museum.

I took enough glider lessons to be able to do a dead stick landing safely. Still have my log book, too. Powerless flight is incredible stuff. And on a side note, the US (Army, I think) used glider pilots during WWII to get information behind enemy lines. There was documentary on that a few years ago. Those guys had titanium nuts.

They call me Trinity.

Ex-PH2

@523, I’m not sure what he means.

As far as I know the ONLY Honorary CPO title is given by the MCPON, to someone who has done great service to the Navy and
to the military in general without being asked. That includes people like Bob Hope and Gary Sinise.

NHSparky, is the shellback initiation done on subs?

The Yorktown had one in 1968, for about 350 sailors of all pay grades (of course). If dribblewits bernutsky thought boot was tough, oh, deary, deary me, what was it like going from being a wog to getting that golden shellback certificate? Or did he even do that? He’s such weeniebeater, it’s difficult to believe he did more than just watch and wish.

MrBill

@465 – From the decision dismissing Bernath’s suit against Judge Hyatt: “These allegations are too muddled for me to discern a cause of action.” A common thread running through many of Bernath’s writings, it seems.

Bernath appears to represent himself on a regular basis. People who file lawsuits pro se usually do so for one of two reasons: they can’t afford to hire a lawyer, or their case is so crappy that no lawyer will touch it. While the latter may well apply in many of Bernath’s cases, I think there’s another factor as well. Bernath has such a high opinion of himself that he simply cannot find another lawyer that he thinks is as smart as he is.

Laughing Wolf

Ex-PH2: sweet! Glad to see they got it and it is being restored.

As for you and gliders, that takes guts and skill and my hat off to you! Me, I like power for go around. 🙂

The WWII glider pilots were an amazing and insane breed, who did far more than the public realizes. They did not have a great survival rate, but cheerfully took on missions and landings despite the odds.

NHSparky

PH2–better believe it, although I was a wog on the Proteus when they made their run to Australia. The major difference between getting your Shellback certificate on a boat versus a skimmer is that a skimmer will have the longitude on the certificate, whereas a boat’s longitude when they cross the line is “classified.”

They also do Bluenose, too. And believe me, Bluenose is NOT fun. But don’t mistake Shellback with Golden Shellback. The former can be any longitude, while Golden Shellback is ONLY done at the International Date Line; i.e., 0 degress lat, 180 long. Crossing at the Prime Meridian is Emerald Shellback. I don’t know of any of those.

Marine_7002

Truth Molester Bernath: another skid mark on the underwear of life.

He doesn’t have the gonads to talk about a single one of the falsehoods he’s been caught in.

If you haven’t done so already, you Chiefs should figuratively flog this turd around the fleet by ensuring his picture, story, and associated falsehoods are posted in every single goat locker in the Navy – and then flood Bernath’s email account with a photo of each and every one of those goat lockers, along with a nice little love note from those Chiefs.

ExHack

@531: bingo on your last sentence. The ego of Phony Chief Daniel A. Bernath is fragile (WEAK SAUCE) but ginormous. It’s what compels Phony Chief Daniel A. Bernath to claim honors he was never bestowed and does not deserve, in this or any parallel universe. Ditto the self-representation – he’s the smartest lawyer he knows. Certainly the smartest one who will take his frivolous litigation.

Ex-PH2

NHSparky, they started at Chile, crossed at 0 degrees, around Cape Horn (Tierra del Fuego), crossed 0 again and ended at Norkfolk, so that was twice they crossed the Meridian.

I think the Navy has PC’d it down to a weeniebeater thingy, because the ‘girls’ might complain. I wouldn’t. I might not enjoy the ass-whacking, or crawling through the tunnel, but it’s a lot less annoying than a sorority hazing.

Ex-PH2

Marine__7002, you should qualify that by making it clear that the ‘portrait’ in the First Class uniform is NOT bernath, from the neck down.

That photo is probably a 1978 or 1979 shot, so the sitter is either long-since retired, or possibly even deceased now, and considering the fraud that bubbldebuttsky bernutsky likes to pull off, it’s probably safe to say that the REAL PH1 is retired and doesn’t know what is going on.

Brownwolf

@537 Ex-PH2,

Knowing Daniel “the Barnacle” Bernath’s past track record with his sinister background – the image was poached from a deceased PH1 because it is befitting of his style.

Also, if Bernath is reading this thread tonight, I would love to rub it in his fucking face that his beloved US Navy never issued him a Good Conduct Medal for his 3+ years of service because they already knew he was a scoundrel back then. I just looked up the US Navy GCM on Google and I can see it has the following words on the backside; Fidelity – Zeal – Obedience. Daniel “the Barnacle” Bernath lacks all three to this day.

Mr. Blue

#531: What Lies Bernath looks to be a lawsuit junkie, one of those scumsucking leaches that continuiously files spurious and frivilous lawsuits in the hope that the defendant will pay him to just go away. The type who has sued most of his neighborhood at one time or another because the grass was a 1/4″ too high.

The PAIN TRAIN IS COMMIN’ FOR YOU, DANNY-BOY…WOOO WOOO!!

Dayum, he did it! He went full Wickre with that one. We don’t need to stick a fork in him to see it; He’s Done. I shared the pilot’s forum conversation about him, as well as the FAA info, with some aviator friends and they are threatening me. They say that I owe them keyboards for not giving a spew alert.

Ex-PH2… if you want more of Danny-Boy’s insanity, check this site out:

http://www.aspecialdayguide.com/shyster/index.htm

Danny-boy… before you go on your cruise, be sure to:

1. Retest for your Costco membership
2. Renew your membership in the Radio Shack Battery Club
3. Vacuum the coils on your refrigerator
4. Rotate the tires on your car, and
5. Talk to the FAA and the NTSB about your inability to safely operate an aircraft (you know, the CRASH near Sisters, OR).

They also may want to know about your medical disabilities and the meds you take for them… I’m sure that they would like to know if your were under the influence of drugs while flying.

just keep on working those mad lawer skillz, Hamilton Burger!

Senior Chief, I did look at that once. I needed brain bleach afterwards.

And he loves to show his mental acumen at the local (Portland, OR) news websites.

Ex-PH2

Oh, here’s a dead giveaway, a rather telling remark: “… decided that as I was always a troublemaker…”

Isn’t it something, how people who are assholes frequently let slip what they really are?

Well, that could explain why bubblicious bernastypants was released to the Reserves and had less than 4 full years of active duty. As obnoxious, hyperaggressive, and combative as his history shows him to be, doesn’t it make you wonder what kind of termagant he became, once he pasted on that 3rd class crow? And probably worse when he hit 2nd class.

I knew a girl like that in RTC(W). Recruit, not staff, one of us peons until she pasted on that recruit PO badge, which had to be returned at graduation. Don’t remember her name, but I do remember her face and the way she went from being one of us in the company to being a bitch on wheels in the blink of an eye. I ran into her right after I got my 2nd class crow. She was still an SN. Weird.

Ex – deep down, Daniel A. Bernath knows what he is: a phony.

We need to work harder. This still isn’t making the top 10 results in a Gooooooogling of Daniel A. Bernath. Of course, he’s soiled himself plentifully elsewhere.

Question for some of the Vietnam-era Sailors that post here: Was Agent Orange carried by any warships during Vietnam? I seem to remember that it was use by the Air Force to defoliate the jungle. Danny-boy claims that part of his disability is due to Agent Orange exposure…

But, when you are so up on Naval History like Danny-boy (remember the TR and carriers line in his interview), anything is possible.
