Morally Vicious, Intellectually Vacuous Left, Always With Us
It is a sad day in the warrior community when one of our own is slain by another of our own. In the extant situation, the shooting of a genuine hero, former SEAL, Chris Kyle, it seems fairly evident that his killer, a former Marine, is suffering from PTSD. While his mental state will never provide total absolution from his guilt, for those of us here who have seen ground combat, suffered its lingering effects and overcome them over time, our condemnation has to be mostly of the crime and not the man. That said, I fully understand the anger shown in yesterday’s comments here at TAH.
What are harder to fathom or forgive are the rabidly vicious comments bubbling up from the sulphurous depths of leftist fury. To their everlasting shame, some in the liberal media always will resort to this sort of cruel gloating at the death of a man who served his country well. However when reading the truly hateful comments on the social networks, it is helpful to bear in mind who the most likely perpetrators of such venom actually are. Picture some pimply-faced, insecure, unemployed nerd with a degree in humanities, cloistered in his old bedroom at his parent’s home, angrily banging away at the keyboard, venting his self-caused frustration at those who have accomplished so much more with their lives than he can ever hope to. Picture that and you will probably have a fairly close image of your culprit.
Thanks to Obamanomics, our country has far too many of these contemporary cave-dwellers still dependent on their parents; and, unrecognized by them, it is the failure of their Great Leader’s socialist policies to lead them out of their darkened bedrooms into a world of prosperity that has them so frustrated and resentful. What the younger of you reading this don’t realize is how fortunate we are that so many of these trolls are hidden away from sight. When I returned from Vietnam in December 1966, the streets and campuses were full of these effete mama’s boys and their equally deluded female counterparts, all screaming vicious anti-military and anti-American slogans provided by Soviet propagandists who couldn’t believe their incredible luck in having so many gullible chumps available to do their dirty work.
Tens of thousands of those useful idiots, even then as now, unsuited for real work and achievement, eventually migrated into that field best suited for such people, education, and created a huge socialist incubator warmed and fed with our tax dollars, that today continues to perpetuate this parade of know-nothing, liberal twits who mistakenly fancy themselves intellectually and morally superior to the rest of us. It is on such occasions as the death of Chris Kyle that we get an opportunity to see that moral and intellectual superiority for just what it truly is, juvenile emotionalism grounded in insulated ignorance and made manifest in a venomous and frenzied hatred of anyone who disagrees with them.
We had a “Joe” back in my day with a far larger audience than the fool who trolls here. That was John F. Kerry and the vicious slanders and libels he directed at Vietnam veterans makes our Joe look like the minor league putz he his. We Vietnam vets have had to stifle our anger for decades as the liberal Democrats deified this traitor and even tried to make him our commander-in-chief. Now we have to suppress the urge to scream out our frustrations as this fool of a president spits in our eyes by elevating Kerry even further, making him representative to the world for the nation he betrayed. But then, that’s Democrats for you.
While you lefties vilify our dead hero, I will honor one of yours by congratulating the “Lion of the Senate” Ted Kennedy, for now having gone three years, five months and eight days without a drink. What a lady-killer that Teddy, a true liberal icon and hero, right up there in the Democrat pantheon with phony war hero, John Kerry, serial sexual predator, Bill Clinton and Marxist, Muslim skeetster, Barack Obama. It is so predictably perverted how all you morally and intellectually superior liberal elites pick your heroes that it is almost laughable; almost, not quite. Actually it’s rather sad, so you can keep ‘em.
We have a tradition of honoring authentic heroes: RIP Chris Kyle.
Category: Veterans Issues
Well said, Poetrooper.
Amen, amen, AMEN!!!
And before the usual trolls come in here and try to spin how Kerry was a “hero”, consider the circumstances under which he served, how he left the Vietnam AO, and how he regarded (and still regards) his service.
When you look with unbiased eyes at the nature of the man’s “service” which was not for hit country but for his own personal gain, and then look at his shameful acts of using his “credibility” in order to denigrate his fellow veterans, maybe then you’ll begin to understand why he is no hero to the majority of his fellow veterans.
But then again, I doubt it.
hit = his. Damn Monday morning fat-fingering.
I truly look forward to the day when the Kennedy clan is no longer idolized by the press.
Rest in peace, Chris Kyle. Valhalla awaits.
And don’t forget Paul Wellstone…one plane down to earth kinda guy.
PH2–sadly, that day will likely never come, certainly not within the confines of Massholistan.
And while you’re at it, Poetrooper, throw in Sens. “Call me Senator” Boxer and “Guns for Me but not for Thee” Feinstein, soon-to-be-departed “Vietnam Veteran” Harkin, etc., who don’t even have their names to rely on, but rather a letter after their name which sheeple who think no further than “what’s in it for me” before pulling the lever in the voting booth.
And what will they think when “what’s in it for them” is a lifetime of slavery to the state? Oh wait–they’re already there, they just haven’t realized it yet.
I agree with the first paragraph…and wanted to add my own $.02
His actions are not the result of PTSD. PTSD does not MAKE you commit an act like this. The criminal is fully responsible for each and every part of his muderous act.
Very well said.
Oh, the irony. Chris dies while helping a fellow vet. Meanwhile, those who villify him are in their usual fetal position, whining.
Never thought much about anyone being morally superior to another, but in this case, it is difficult to avoid seeing it.
“Picture some pimply-faced, insecure, unemployed nerd with a degree in humanities, cloistered in his old bedroom at his parent’s home, angrily banging away at the keyboard” —
This may be a part of that population demographic, but it should also include those who habituate cyber cafes and WiFi hotspots and the free computer/internet rooms at public libraries, not working because they are unwilling to take the cheaper low-wage jobs as opposed to not having jobs, because those low-wage jobs are beneath them and they really don’t want to work.
All well and true, Poetrooper. The worm will turn on these cultural marxist tools and I’ll be there to enjoy every last second of it.
@11 as well as some of whom are actually pretty smart, well employed, moneyed people, who happen to also be morally bankrupt and don’t mind any opportunity to push their agenda.
The vitriol from the left during the Bush years has left an indelible stain on the political landscape. There appears to be no ability to work together with liberals, they want their opponents to yield on every disagreement as opposed to compromising for the good of the nation. Uncompromising politicians might be interesting, but with our system of government it creates a powerful gridlock. No budget for years, no movement on reduction of spending, and a president who rules by fiat.
Yet we the electorate continue to put the same people who don’t do their jobs back in office time and again all the while complaining about the lack of progress in DC. We the people are getting the government we deserve because we the people are too lazy to vote for anyone but an incumbent 9 out of 10 times….
Well done PT, well done.
Well said, PT.
“Picture some pimply-faced, insecure, unemployed nerd with a degree in humanities, cloistered in his old bedroom at his parent’s home, angrily banging away at the keyboard” – it should also include those who habituate cyber cafes and WiFi hotspots and the free computer/internet rooms at public libraries”. You mean like those two or three who came in and crapped all over the original thread about Chris Kyle, Ex? Wait, Joey claims to have a job.
Poet Trooper,
You are obviously grieveing, so I guess you deserve the benefit of the doubt. Despite the “rabidly vicious comments bubbling up from the sulphurous depths of leftist fury” (you do have a poetic bent, don’t you?), I’ll remind you I never impugned Chris Kyle’s service. That didn’t stop people frompiling on. I did ask the question, if a guy with his record and qualifications can’t protect himself from gun violence, what hope is there for the rest of us.
Honestly, I think the explosion of vitriol from this site and other conservatives is because you are grieving twice over – once for you friend Chris Kelly, and once for your long cherished but now thoroughly debunked notion that if only one packs enough heat he or she will be safe. Having this canard exposed for the sham it is, and faced with the hard reality that gun violence is random and unpredictable in nature, realizing once andfor all that the conservative’s polite armed society is a dangerous fairy tale, you are lashing out in any and every direction.
I’m sorry for Chris Kellys’ death. I’m not sorry the NRA’s myth has been laid to rest.
Well said, just can’t add to that.
Very Very well said.
I made the mistake of watching the movie “Love and Honor” this weekend. I am still not over it and WOULD NOT recommend it for any Viet Nam Veteran
Why has the left been so successful politically? Why, because they have been effective at promising all sorts of different groups access to other people’s money. But this condition cannot last (as Hondo has pointed out on several threads, with Joe predictably stomping his feet and crying foul, because he knows what that truth portends for his worldview).
It will all end in tears at which point the political class can either try to oppress the productive (which they will try, but which will not work) or they can dismantle the subsidy state and get out of the way of productive Americans. The pols will be loathe to do this, because it will display their ultimate irrelevance in most aspects of life, but there will be only misery with any other course of action.
Joe-your continued insistence that the mommy state can make it all better has been completely debunked, to include the idea that free men can cede their well being, physical or financial, to the bureaucracy. Nonetheless, I see that you got the quote correct (this time), but your accuracy is still lacking-his name was Chris Kyle, not Kelly. Nobody here is buying what you’re selling-get bent.
Sorry, I was multi tasking. Meant Chris Kyle.
Amen.
Joe, you are so fucking stupid. Give me ONE gun rights advocate who has EVER said, “You will be 100% safe from harm and live to die of old age as long as you have a gun.” That would be the only thing disproven by Kyle’s death, but nobody’s ever made that argument.
And save the, “I’m sorry for Chris Kyle’s death” BS. You’re standing on his grave and you know it.
Joe: that’s a pathetic argument, oh aged and pathetic little draft dodger. But coming from you, pathetic is par for the course.
No one here (or at the NRA) has ever claimed “armed = perfect safety”, dipstick. What has been fully proven is that (1) strict gun control leads to more violent crime, not less; (2) there is no cause/effect link between strict gun control and lower rate of firearms murders, and (3) you have a better chance if you’re armed than if you are not. And you know damn well know that. You’re simply coming here to offend.
If someone you trust gets behind you and takes advantage of that trust to shoot you in the back (or stabs you in the back, for that matter – or to bash in your skull with a baseball bat or tire iron), well, there’s nothing you can do about it – armed or not. I’d expect even a hypocritical imbecile like yourself to be able to figure that out. And, frankly, I fully expect you already know that, too.
However, in virtually all other circumstances having a firearm DOES INDEED improve your chances of surviving an attack by someone who’s armed – whether they’re armed with a knife, a tire iron, baseball bat, or a gun. Per the FBI, about 1% of crimes are murders. Lawful firearms use is estimated to prevent approximately 2.5 million violent crimes yearly – which means that lawful firearms use prevents about 25,000 murders, or over twice the number of those murdered using firearms annually. Gun use therefore saves 2x+ more lives than it takes. Any way you look at it, that’s a net positive.
Ask the current Mayor of Milwaulkee how it feels to be beaten about the head with a tire iron when you’re unarmed and can’t do a damn thing about it. Based on what I’ve read, he didn’t much enjoy the experience.
I’ll remind you I never impugned Chris Kyle’s service
Oh, sure you did, in a roundabout sort of way, kind of like the dickheads who go, “Well, I support the troops, BUT…”
Seriously Joe, you know not of which you speak, therefore you should not, but like Ron White once said (paraphrasing), you have the right to remain silent, you just don’t have the ability…
And frankly, Joe, only you could try to claim the same situation as one who is armed, ready, and defending one’s property or lives to someone who gets ambushed from behind. Even you can’t deny that if someone is going to kill you, best time to do it is when they’re not expecting it.
Seriously Joe, quit trolling! Give Chris Kyle the respect he deserves. Also, there will always be violence. No matter how hard you try to disarm people and make a so called “eutopia”, violence will always be there.
I scrolled through some of the comments on the news about Chris Kyle’s death. Sadly a lot of those make Joe’s seem pretty tame in comparison.
Joe’s not going to quit trolling until the district superintendent gets a phone call, and probably not even then.
Joey-boy, what part of ‘shot in the back at point blank range’ do you not get?
Chris Kyle and his neighbor were shot in the back at point blank range by someone they trusted.
Your argument that “a guy with his record and qualifications can’t protect himself from gun violence” is without merit because you intentionally ignored the circumstances.
Please do not ever sit on a jury. Your judgment is questionable at the very least, dangerous at its worst.
I don’t give a rat’s ass NHS, I’m outta here soon. But it says a lot about how you deal with people who disagree with you, loser.
Sparky never said he was going to do anything. Are you and Obamagirl related?
@#30. Don’t let the door hit you on your way out. And, the sooner the better.
Gee, dipshit, have I called anyone yet? I will continue to deal with you the same way I’ve always dealt with you and your ilk–scorn and ridicule, because logic, facts, and reason simply don’t work well with you.
Then again, I’m guessing you’ve been warned about such behavior before? Tell me I’m wrong. I’m begging you.
And what UpNorth said–you should have left when it was apparent your input was neither needed nor wanted, so what exactly is keeping you here besides my bright and shiny face, ya fucktard?
I have to disagree that this generation’s is all that hidden from sight. Besides becoming the leadership of our country (My God, how the heck is John “The Traitor” Kerry Sec of State?!!???), they are right out on the street with us.
Like the scum who spit on my son at Denver’s Parade of Lights last Dec. My son went straight from base to the parade so he wouldn’t miss his girlfriend, who was marching with CSU’s band, so he was in his ABUs. This ski bum type of punk spit on him and called him nasty names. Of course, no one around him said anything (sheep). I give my son kudos for staying calm and finding the nearest cop instead of slugging him. Said cop happened to be retired Navy and took a dim view of Ski Bum’s buddies trying to defend him. Since the cop wanted to watch the rest of the parade (wink, wink), Ski Bum got to sit in his patrol car for another hour or two, then get processed, THEN get held for his full 24 hours. Maybe losing most of his weekend in jail taught him a lesson. No, probably not.
Sadly to say, my sister-in-law is one of them, a tried and true People’s Republic of Boulder leftie of the Vietnam War protester variety (she’s my mom’s age). When my daughter told her she was also joining the Air Force, her first words were “You know they rape girls, don’t you?”. She also stood in my kitchen years back and viciously wished President Bush dead, in front of my kids. Oh, and she hates her own brother who is a retired colonel. I stopped getting emails from my niece when I politely asked her to not forward MoveOn.org emails to me. Needless to say, since my mother-in-law died last year, we don’t see them often. They live an hour away and we haven’t seen them in a year.
Hey NHSparkyUPNorth,
This IS a public site. If Jonn wanted, he could require a log on account with name and password, and lock out accounts he doesn’t like. Or just block comments from me. But he hasn’t. To his credit, despite his dislike of me and presumably people like ObamaGirl, he has kept the site open to dissenting opinion. You would prefer to keep it your own personal boys’ club – too bad.
Actually, I do recall Jonn telling you “fuck you” in the Chris Kyle thread.
IOW, even Jonn’s patience has its limits. There’s dissenting opinion, and then there’s just being a fucking douchebag troll (like you.)
Like I (and others) have said–you seem to be all butthurt about your treatment here, yet here you remain, which tells me you’re not interested in a reasoned discourse, but simply to be another raging fucktard, as you’ve been pretty much since day one.
Your presence here adds nothing to the discussion, save a glimpse into the abyss that is the liberal mindset and where we’d end up should we follow your “suggestion” of your dystopian views. But thanks for that at least–I guess.
Gee, Joey-boy, you said you were leaving.
Make up your mind.
Joe, this is for you: You did not answer my question, to wit: “what part of ‘shot in the back at point blank range’ do you not get?”
I don’t think you can actually form it, but I want an answer to that question.
Actually, Joe, TAH is NOT a public site. It is a PRIVATE site, run by a private individual who owns it. Jonn’s house, Jonn’s rules – period. He wants any of us gone, we’re gone.
Jonn allows mostly open commenting. A few idiots who’ve pissed Jonn off enough are moderated, and one or two might now finally be banned (haven’t asked). But it’s solely his call on who comments here – and who doesn’t.
I think Joe was referring to leaving his place of employment, not leaving the blog.
No comment about the Kyle killing, and particularly the vicious garbage in the comments on the various liberal rags.
I’ve learned over the years that rage doesn’t improve my eloquence.
No one ever said arming yourself somehow makes you invincible. However, when given the opportunity I’d rather have a CHANCE to defend myself and survive. Joe you’re not making any sense man.
@40 PN, this gives you an opportunity to enhance your spontaneous rebuttals to moronic diatribe and vitriol.
Right you are Pinto.
Without me and a few others willing to shed your verbal abuse the way a duck’s back sheds water, this echo chamber would be so boring, a bunch of “amen brothers” and not much else.
PH-22, Redacted1775 and others, that’s the point, the threat rarely comes from the direction you think it will, no matter how well armed and intuitive you think you are. So you have to be on high alert at all times (i.e., a state of paranoia) in the delusion that you will be ready and safe, not a practical state of affairs for even a trained military specialist. And as the country gets more heavily armed day by day, knowing that, perhaps the criminals will start to shoot first and ask questions later, kind of a use it or lose it scenario in this “armed by very polite” society.
Paranoia is an irrational fear based on something that doesn’t exist. Again, you’re not making any sense.
Obviously, Joey-boy, you have never had to walk home after work from your car to your apartment at 2AM in Chicago.
Somehow, I managed to stay alive all these years doing just that, despite the number of criminals with guns on the street, and never have had ownership of a gun in my life. But I’ve never been stupid enough to walk around with my purse in plain sight, or a pair of earbuds stuck in my ears blocking out sounds, or with my eyes glued to a so-called smartphone.
On the other hand, I don’t live in fear and trembling.
Joe-
Sadly, you DO deserve to be shit-piled on as what part of SHOT IN THE BACK did you miss? You are as fucked up as Nathan in Korea. Again, you, like Nathan think you can negotiate with crazy? Try it, sometime, why don’t you? I am sick to death of people like you who talking out their asses and have probably never handled a weapon nor been in a place of threat. Just shut the fuck up. Maybe you are sitting in your basement jacking off, at the anger you incite? Yeah, sounds about right for you.
Joe, your derogatory comment was the first comment posted on the RIP Chris Kyle thread. THE FIRST ONE! You just could NOT WAIT to dance on his proverbial grave to push a political agenda. Do you GET THAT? Do you understand how sick and vile that is? This is not about presenting a dissenting point of view into the “echo chamber”, this about having basic human decency and letting this community of Service Members mourn for our lost Brother.
You know, you liberals have a really bad habit of disrespecting the dead and the mourning families by opening your mouths every time there’s a tragedy. You sat there on your computer, masturbating to the pictures of dead kids because of how good it makes you feel to be able to taunt people over it. In the days immediately after Sandy Hook the general consensus among sane Americans was to wait a little bit to politicize the tragedy for the gain of those on either side. Take notice that the NRA shut up for a week, they stayed silent out of respect for the families of those poor kids, which is more than can be said for you, Joe, or any other liberal who ejaculated all over the place with ecstasy at having another wonderful tragedy to exploit.
Are you even beginning to understand how wildly inappropriate it was for you to be the VERY FIRST ONE to comment on a RIP Memorial thread? No, I don’t think you are. Because, after all, other people just aren’t REAL people to you, are they? They are just lowly pawns for you to use to exploit for your gain, and it’s even better if they die tragically.
You are a sick, disgusting excuse of a person. Please remove yourself from this earth, quickly.
Without me and a few others willing to shed your verbal abuse the way a duck’s back sheds water, this echo chamber would be so boring
Frankly, I’ll take boring over you anytime, Joey.
“Without me and a few others” — Joey-boy’s own words.
Finally, he admits that his only reason for posting here is to get attention, like any spoiled brat who has nothing useful to say, nothing to contribute and thinks only of himself.
Verbal abuse? That is something you brought on yourself, every time you’ve posted on this board, because you start the process to get attention. Otherwise, you’re just one of those buzzing sounds that people hear when a fly is trapped in a window and can’t get out.
It’s always about getting attention. It has never been about anything else.
No Ex-PH2, no, it’s not about attention, if that’s what you call it. I don’t visit here for attention, I stay out of it for the most part. It’s only the most outrageous posts that get my attention. I only stumbled across this site when it was linked from a “rabidly vicious bubbling up from the sulphurous depths of leftist fury” web site. Believe it or not, as an armchair geologist, it was the sand dunes and palm trees logo at the top that grabbed me, and I still to this day wonder where that picture was taken (North Arica? Saudi Arabia?) But when I started reading the actual posts, my jaw dropped. “Surely there aren’t actually people who believe this tripe”, I thought. Well, you guys have definitely corrected me on that point. But I felt then, as now, that your bizarro world echo chamber needed a little equal time. Believe me when I say there are much better ways to get attention.
