You don’t say…..

NY Post:

“It may not have happened exactly like I said it did,” he told The Post.
“I really do not remember a lot of things since the accident.
“I remember a blast going off by my head and being in Afghanistan and telling one of the sergeants,” he said.
“It is like a dream . . . I can’t remember things exactly how it happened.”

Interesting…..I will be here when all those folks said I lied and was slandering this guy. You Dude, you Blue Falcon, you lady whose name I forget that claims to be his Mom. Etc.

All of you that said I was rushing to judgment etc, what say you now? Can someone point out a single thing I said that was inaccurate?

Damn Bar still hasn’t called about Blue Falcon’s complaint. 20/20 did though. We’ll see if I am on there tonight.

“I remember a blast going off by my head and being in Afghanistan and telling one of the sergeants,” he said.
“It is like a dream . . . I can’t remember things exactly how it happened.”

Wait a minute; the blast went off by your head and the only thing that happened was you told a sergeant about it?? Really? Unf-ing believable!!

BTW: It is a dream, Poe, because that’s all it ever was.

0311

“I was in a band,” Poe admitted. “But it was before the accident. And at the time of ‘AGT,’ when the judges asked, before I could even think about answering, my words had already came out.”

So he’s basically saying that lying is a reflex for him. Shock and awe.

teddy996

The bar won’t call, TSO. They will strike from the shadows, because the Blue fucking Falcon said so. You will just wake up one morning in a bath tub full of ice, a scar on your back from where they ripped out your lawyerdom.

Bobo

Since the accident was falling out of a truck resulting in a back injury, I’m not sure how that would affect his memory, or where the blast came from. Maybe a fart contest in the C hut?

Whitey_Wingnut

I think Poe was playing too much Call of Duty and mistook a cutscene as real life for himself.

GIJo

I Salute you Sirs for a job well done. I was fooled just like anyone else watching and i was cheering him on. Now i just would like to see him burn. Nothing wrong with being a POG, I am one and proud to say that Iam. 92G Be safe

Anonymous

lol, i like teddy’s theory, better watch it TSO, you’re gonna get your shit stole. And all you will hear when you wake up is CAW…. CAW….. CAW!!!

BohicaTwentyTwo

Wow, they finally got a picture of him in uniform. Hey Poe, 2004 called, they want their BDUs back.

PintoNag

No victims to stolen valor here. Just his fiance, his family, and every-freakin’-body who was cheering him on, on AGT.

This guy needs two things: some time tied up in a public square, and a padded cell. In that order.

NHSparky

And yes, the all-powerful Mass. Bar. Kinda like the Star Chamber, Illuminati, and Boondock Saints, all rolled into one.

Doug Sterner

The question that keeps arising is the “WHY (do people do this?). Aside from a potential $1 million prize in the ATG case, the fact is, most of these SV Cases are committed by people with an otherwise criminal bent. Barbara Bently has written an excellent book about her marriage to one such phony (Navy Admiral who claimed a MOH) titled “A Dance With the Devil.” Ultimatly, her husbant attempted to murder her. She explains the “WHY” very well: “Psychopaths/sociopaths love to assume roles where honest citizens automatically give trust without question. John (her former husband) did this with portraying himself as a retired admiral and wearing the Congressional Medal of Honor. He even fooled the navy!”

These are USUALLY not cases of poor souls with low self-esteem and some mental problems (excuses that often result in our feeling some level of sympathy for the Phony Heroes), they are pathological liars and manipulators who do this for personal gain, power, prestige, and are often accompanied by other serious additional crimes.

PintoNag

And TSO, you make a good sleuth. If you ever get tired of lawyering, you might try your hand as the next Night Stalker. You’d be a natural! 🙂

BK

So, the heaping lot of trouble BlueFalcon promised has not landed? You’re not the only lawyer he got disbarred, you know. Once, when he was an extremely effete bouncer, he got a lawyer kicked out of a drinking establishment.

WhiteOneAlpha

If a blast went off by your head, you’d more than likely have alot more problems than just a s-s-s-stutter. You know, seriously symptoms, like missing head, blown out ear drums, concussion, neck injury, scared and burnt skin… Then again, I’m no doctor.

At what point does this guy realize he’s not gonna win this fight?

Crusty

I don’t see how anyone who has been in the army would find his RPG story even remotely believeable. Hell, I did nothing special in the 25 years I was in the military but, I am proud of what I did and would do it all over again if given the chance. As a matter of fact I went to basic 29 years ago today.

He should just give up this ignorant charade and do the honorable thing.

The Dude

@1 How much combat have you seen? I bet Mr. Poe has chewed more dirt than you man.

Virtual Insanity

Jeez Crutsty, you’re old. I went to Basic 32 years ag…crap.

CI Roller Dude

you know I’ve arrested many drunks over the years who when they got to court, said they couldn’t remember telling me that they were going to kick my ass….so maybe dipshit got drunk, fell off the bar stool, thinking he caught an RPG in his head when it hit the floor…I’m sure it’s close.
Why won’t this retard just go hide out for about a year and hope we forget about him

I have a character for you guys…he was on my team for a short time before 9-11…then he changed Nat Guard units. He was always claiming that he was a SEAL…but when I asked him about it…he shut up…then changed units.
He went to Iraq with another unit- then made up all kinds of bullshit.

Crusty

@virtual…YOU are old. I am just Crusty!

Virtual Insanity

Crusty–I’m reminded every day. I work at one of the Army’s schoolhouses, and I am now seeing the sons and daughters of former peers come through as Captains. Ouch.

Crusty

At some point it has to go through this guy’s head that the longer he continues with this stupid BS the worse it’s gonna be. He is about as screwed up as Hogan’s goat. A roadkill on the career path of life as one of my old 1SG’s used to say. I would not want to be in his shoes.

Hondo

Virtual Insanity, Crusty: I know what you mean.

Wait until you start thinking that all the Majors you know look way too young to be Majors.

Virtual Insanity

It never ceases to amaze me, though, how long they will push the lie, or how far. It’s like watching a wreck in slow motion. What kind of delusion must you be under, in the age of the internet, to believe you can continue to get away with it?

I once had a soldier caught in a drug bust at his brother-in-law’s house. Glass coffee table covered with coke, three of them around it snorting, when the cops busted in. My soldier had white powder under his nose, visible in the photos taken at the scene.

Him: “I wasn’t there”
Me: “Here are the pictures of you there”
Him: “I wasn’t snorting coke”
Me: “Here are the pictures of you with white powder under your nose”
Him: “I was just smelling it, not snorting.”
Me: “Command-directed urinalysis.”
Him: “Crap.”

Poe is almost in the same slide.

Virtual Insanity

Hell, Hondo–I look at pictures of ME as a Major and think THAT.

Hondo

(chuckling) Congratulations, Virtual Insanity – you’re officially now an Old Fart. (smile)

Tom B.

Great job fleshing this asshole out!

As far as an ROG going off besides his head, I had a bunker get blown up 150 meters away from me that blew me into a Blackhawk helicopter. All I remember is the *push*, more like shove, of the air hitting me, the heat of something big and metallic going past me and then, not much else for the next six hours. I had to be informed of what all happened afterwards. I DO have a TBI and after spending four months at the Shepard Center in Atlanta, I realized I was pausing a lot as I tried to gather my thoughts into coherent sentences. Everyone could tell I wasn’t stuttering….just pausing a lot. To me, it felt like I was talking in complete sentences. Having gone through so much hospital time with so many others with TBI that didn’t involve an open head trauma, I’ve not seen any of them stutter. Just pause a lot. There’s a difference. I guess Poe the Glory Ho didn’t do enough reading up on what people with TBI are going through so as to come off as authentic.

What a sick ass mind set. I don’t feel sorry for this guy one bit. However, I do think he is criminally insane to a degree to claim so much from having done so little.

Meanwhile, there are literally tens of thousands of Service Members who deserve so much more recognition than they received, but ya don’t hear them claiming shit.

Old Trooper

Hondo, Crusty, VI; I went through basic almost 31 years ago, so, I’m another of the Grey Brigade. The new crop of 0-4s do look a lot younger than I remember……..just damn

LC

As a side note, rumor has it they’re not kicking him off the shows – which at first frustrated me, but with a bit more thought, I think it’s the best option. He needs to get out on stage, again, in front of people who know he’s lying:

http://theclicker.today.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/06/08/12123578-americas-got-talent-judge-howie-mandel-doesnt-think-vet-will-be-kicked-off?lite

And a Fox link that says he doesn’t get very far on the show:
http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2012/06/08/agt-contestant-timothy-poe-getting-boot-source-says/?intcmp=features

I hope the crowd is merciless.

Doug Sterner

You’re all a bunch of “kids”. I was an old guy when I went through Basic at age 19…43 years ago. Just keep rubbing it in!

Hondo

Yeah, you got a few years on us Doug. But on some of us, only a few. (smile)

Crusty

I am proud to be a part of the Grey Brigade with the rest of you old geezers!

It took me seing the date at the top of the article to remember 8 JUN 83!!!! Otherwise i would have forgot.

Crusty

I have never watched AGT but, I will definitley DVR the next episode.

PintoNag

If Poe continues on to another performance on AGT, the audience shouldn’t boo or catcall; what they need to do is be completely silent. The worst thing to a producter is dead air time. Not do anything. Just sit there. From the moment he walks on the stage until he walks off.

That’ll send the chills up the right set of spines.

OWB

Just wish that someone with younger eyes and perhaps better computating machinery would take a VERY close look at the docs he provided. It looks, even on the screen at the NYPost link that the capitol “Y’s” are not the same – as if they may be from different printers? Different fonts?? Different something.

Particularly compare the stand alone “Y” on the line for “Completed over 4 years…” to the capitol Y’s in the next couple of “Yes” responses.

Being from back in the dark ages myself, on orders for seperation, I don’t remember them combining some Yes answers with some Y answers on the same form. It was either Yes/No or Y/N, not a mixture of the two.

There are other comparisons that should be made as well, but that one jumped off the page at me.

Doug Sterner

The BAD thing is, whether Poe appears again or not, the last thing AGT viewers will remember is that they sobbed, applauded and gave admiring respect to a man who had duped them all. That bodes bade for both the memory and the future.
What AGT SHOULD do is make an honest apology on air to their audience, fly in (at AGT expense) a representative group (M&F/All services) of REAL wounded warriories, to remind the audience that although Poe was a fraud, there REALLY ARE men and women whose unpublicized actions and sacrifices deserve to be honored and recognized. Poe needs to become a “footnote” to the whole AGT experience, and American needs a LEGITIMATE reminder there is more to America than someone who can sing a tune. America’s GOT (REAL) heroes.

Mike

While I’m a relatively new recruit around here, I went to basic training 41 years ago next month. What’s scary is realizing that you’ve been out longer than you were in and looking at retiring from the second career in a few years.

AW1 Tim

Yeah, I’m up there two. Went to boot camp at Sandy Eggo 36 years ago last month. Sigh.

My son got a serious concussion in Afghanistan when his MRAP got hit with an IED. Took the whole damned front off the vehicle. He was in the turret and thankfully was strapped in and wearing his helmet and all.

But he also was dazed and confused for a week, with ringing in his ears, etc. THAT much is gone, thankfully, but though it’s been almost two years now, he still has short term memory problems.

PintoNag

Doug, first of all, I agree with everything you’ve just said. That is what should happen.

Problem: Americans compartmentalize. We have to, to make it through the day. We don’t expect to see real heroes on a show like AGT — we expect to see real performers. And the problem with that kind of talent, is we tolerate bad behavior for good performance. (Example: How many singers/actors have drug charges and/or been in rehab?)

I think Poe needs to be punished, not by the establishment, ie, the show, but by the people who he duped — whose admiration was the catalyst for what he did in the first place.

77 11C20

Thanks for reminding me I went thru Basic 37 years ago, now I suddenly feel old.

OWB

Holy crap! You youngsters actually caused me to try to figure it out in my head, but had to break out the paper to do the math. Then double checked it on a calculator! Basic was a LONG time ago.

PintoNag

Jeez louise! How long ago was all this? What were you? Sherman’s horse??

Toothless Dawg

hehehehe enlisted 50 years ago, basic 49 years ago. ‘scuse me, its time for my 2nd nap of the day.

OWB

PN, pretty much!

Not gonna admit by how much, but TD has me beat on the math. And there are a few others around here who also do. But very few!

Dave Thul

I just hit 20 years in the Guard last Saturday, hearing from all of you old guys makes me feel young.

I can’t be sure, but I think the photo in the linked story is from Camp Shelby in 2005, outside the big administration building near the north gate. That would be about the time frame that the MN Guard was issuing BDU’s with desert tan CamelBaks.

And for those of you asking why he did this, this wasn’t the first time. Trust me.

Awesome job by TSO on getting his teeth into this like a rabid dog and not letting go.

Marine_7002

This coming January will mark 40 years since I shipped out to the Parris Island, SC School of Leadership, Marksmanship, and Hard Knocks. 5 minutes after jumping on the yellow footprints, I was silently cursing my recruiter (who happened to be named Jack Armstrong – TINS).

Poe has forgotten (or never knew) the first rule of getting out of a hole – QUIT DIGGING.

0311

Pretty sure the next episode of AGT to air was taped a couple months ago. See here: http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/06/07/americas-got-talent-timothy-michael-poes-military-claims/

So there won’t be any comment during the show, although if the editors have any kind of ethics, they should edit his lying ass out and fill the space with coverage of his lies, and maybe tributes to Norman Bone and George Cauley.

Joe Williams

I have seen the results of various ordance exploding close to Marines. The first you see is the horrible black skin. Then the skin starts falling off leaving exposed red flesh. There is always a IV if not KIA. Missing ears and noses are common. Not to mention more frag wound than you can inmage. His storty is total BS. Hey Poe give a date & time to have a lesson in H2H for the back impaired. Iam a month shy of 65,weight 145and towering5 foot 5 inch. I am also rated at 180% by the VA. Anybody rate higher than me then they may claim first H2H for POsEr. Joe

malclave

@5
I think Poe was playing too much Call of Duty

I don’t think Call of Duty is considered an RPG. Maybe World of Warcraft?

John Lindley

@48 Judging from what these guys are saying about when they joined up I think only a select few of us are going to get that joke…lol…he said his memory was a little fuzzy…maybe it was an exploding FPS

And just so you guys know I shipped out to basic 4 years ago in June….so I think I might be bringing down the average age of the guys who read this blog

Joe Williams

John,TSO please this comment where you feel is right. AGT & NBC has made no comment. Are AGT & NBC holding back so more more poeple than normal will watch the show to find out what will happen to Craven Poe. Thereby broosting their ratings? Could they be that lowlife ? Joe
