I wanted to post this phony before I closed out because of what he lied and how he did it stand out from your normal faker. Meet Kyle Barwan, (listed at the bottom of the page. )
He is claiming that he was a ” Ranger, MP, 1st Cavalry, a sniper, a First Lieutenant, and claimed to have served a tour in Iraq.”
Also claimed that he earned a Silver Star by pulling eight guys to safety after a IED blast.
Also he tries to act like he has been there done that on FaceBook.
The only real problem is that he he has only been in the National Guard and was kicked out for impersonating a Officer in 2007. Oh and he is claiming that he part of ROTC and recenty went to Camp Atterberry
Considering he did such a bang up job pretending to be Army Lieutenant do we really want him to be in charge of real troops?

I sent a email to POW.Network to ask for his DD214 so see what they have on him. According to the POW.Network he was National Guard.
This dude graduated HS in 2007; I don’t claim to be knowledgeable on all the ways the army is turning people into officers, but don’t you need to have a college degree of some sort? He’s doesn’t strike me as the kind of person that would be able to make it through college in three years.
Also, there has to be something we’re not aware of going on here. Facebook status updates are THE stupidest places there is to brag about being in the military if you’re not in the military. I mean, you’re putting it out there for people who KNOW YOU to see; they’d see right through a bunch of compulsive lies. Could he be in ROTC somewhere and just inflating his role? If so, someone should figure out what school he goes to and forward them some screen shots. Kyle Barwan Is my son and he is a very bis con artist…..Family and friend already know this! He is not in any military and was medically discharged from the National Guard due to lying and impersonating a soldier, which unfortunately he is still doing….Kyle has caused great damage in our family….He even stole the medals my father was awarded from Vietnam and had put them on his fake uniforms.So to see him published on this site where complete strangers and people we I know can see is very degrading and an embarrassment! I’m not really concerned about what public embarrassment he might suffer for trying to pretend he has received honors that men have died for, men whose boots he isn’t fit to lick. If you are in fact his Mom, I’m sorry you have to see what your son has brought upon himself and his family. The Stolen Valor Act was deemed unconstitutional recently so our only weapon is to call out, harass, and make known widely any and all poseurs. We will take any opportunity to impune his character for what he is doing. He will get no quarter here so I suggest, if it bothers you, not to come back…it will get worse.

A person of his description is also on Myspace and lists his current location as Oak Forest, Illinois. If Illinois is indeed where you all are located, you can pick up the phone and dial (312) 421-6700, the Chicago FBI office, and file a direct complaint against him. In addition, you can file a police report for the stolen medals you mention, or yank him into court and sue him for the return of those medals.
Try being proactive in the protection of your family’s honor instead of whining about what others are saying or doing. Good luck.
