1 injured, suspected shooter killed after shooting at church in Wayne, sources say

WAYNE, Mich. (WXYZ) — One person was injured in a shooting at a Wayne church on Sunday morning, police and sources tell 7 News Detroit. The suspected shooter was reportedly killed by a security guard.We’re told the shooting happened around 11:15 a.m. at Crosspointe Community Church, shortly after the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service started.
A police source tells us that the armed suspect was on his way to the church when another person tried to stop him with their truck. He reportedly opened fire at the truck, and that’s when a security guard got involved. Wayne Police confirmed on Facebook that the suspect was shot and killed by a security guard at the church.
Wayne police said one victim was shot in the leg.
“Our leadership and support teams are on the ground, at the scene, in Wayne, Michigan providing assistance and investigative support,” said FBI Director Dan Bongino in a statement released Sunday afternoon.
We’re told that homeland security is also monitoring the incident.
Investigators have asked residents of Wayne to avoid the area as the investigation continues.

Citronelle police chief says gas station shooting ‘appears to be a case of self-defense’

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Citronelle Police Chief Chris McLean says one person was shot after an altercation between two men in Citronelle.Chief McLean says based on the evidence so far, it appears to be a case of self-defense.
Chief McLean says the incident happened outside the Junior Food Mart on the corner of US 45 and State Street around 11 p.m. Friday night.
Police say a man was walking into the gas station to get a snack when an intoxicated man attacked him before he could get to the door.
Police say surveillance video shows the inebriated man rush at the other man, swinging his fists and shouting. Chief McLean says the men exchanged words. At one point, officers say the man walking inside the gas station tried to back off and de-escalate the situation but to no avail. Chief McLean says the intoxicated man remained aggressive. The chief says the man trying to walk inside the gas station pulled out his gun and shot his alleged attacker.
Investigators say the shooter immediately rendered aid to the man who was shot and stayed on scene. Police say he is cooperating with law enforcement.
Chief McLean says neither man knew each other, and that one was from Chunchula and the other from Mobile.
Chief McLean says the man who was shot was in surgery Saturday morning and remains in the ICU at a hospital in Mobile.

Forsyth Police Department investigating late night shooting involving minors, release says
The police department said, around 11:30 on Friday, two men were found with gunshot wounds at a Forsyth apartment complex. They’re currently investigating.

FORSYTH, Ga. — The Forsyth Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured two people at a Forsyth apartment complex, according to a release.The release said that, around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, police officers responded to a report that people were shot on 500 Cabiness Road at the Forsyth Gardens Apartments.
According to the release, a minor was found with a gunshot wound and was brought to a medical facility for further care. The release added officers learned a second minor involved in the shooting arrived at a hospital.
The police department said the two minors knew each other, and that an investigation showed that an argument between the two caused a shootout.
The police department identified a third suspect that was involved in the shooting, but was not injured.
The release said both the police department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation on looking into the shooting, and that they’ll provide further information as they receive it. They added that charges are pending.

Mobile doesn’t make the news feeds as much as other sh*tholes, why, I don’t know. I do see more than my fair share of crime, but true FGS are slim. You either need to torpedo the place are damn it as you go full speed ahead thru it. The trash has spilled over into all of the small towns around it.

In addition to a very large City Popo dprt, there is a very large, well trained/equipped SO. Add to that is the Georgia Public Safety Training Center and the Georgia Dprt of Corrections HQs/Training Center, a long with…wait for it…Dprt of Pardons and Parole. If one were to look up the definition of “crawling with cops” one would find a picture of this place. I’ll keep a weather eye out for an update, but don’t hold out any hope. Good chance that the popo will discover *gasp* a case of the trash taking out the trash.

Most churches around here have a bit of armed security. The largest church in our city (about 12k in the congregation) has 32 people on their armed security team, they also do security for their 7-12 school and their k-6 school. All of their security is either retired military or retired police and are all volunteers. Although if they volunteer it they give them credit for a tithe or tuition if they have kids or grandkids at one of the schools.
I don’t know about Michigan but in Texas every conservative church has some sort of security team.
We are a relatively peaceful town, but my church has a robust security team comprised of current and former LEOs from the sundry agencies in the AO.
Then there are the regular members who also are carrying.
In today’s society that is just prudent.
I recall Saturday afternoons at the local church for confession.
I would lift my knee on and off the pad while in the booth
awaiting the priest to slide the window open.
My sister, outside in a pew awaiting her turn would bust out
laughing as the light above the door would flash on and off.
I don’t recall any form of security such as needed today.

We are a fairly large congregation, and as such the mentally unstable appear from time to time.
I know our pastor, former Texas highschool football player, has physically fought abusive husbands in his office.

The church shooter is a 31-year-old son of a regular member of the church. The son occasionally attended with his mother. He has no connection with terrorism. He was loaded for bear; he had over 100 rounds loaded in magazines and a pistol as well as an AR style rifle, according to reports.
And severe mental problems, according to “sources” and his actions. But his mental problems have been alleviated.
