By Holly Tuggle
DARLINGTON, S.C. —
Deputies in Darlington County, South Carolina, say a man has been arrested after multiple shootings and a burglary on Wednesday.

Deputies with the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office say they were called to a local hospital in reference to an individual with a gunshot wound.

Shortly after, deputies responded to a call in reference to a shooting on Martin Luther King Boulevard in the Hartsville area of Darlington County. The scene was secured.

Deputies say they discovered that both incidents were connected.

A search warrant was executed at the home, which revealed that a shooting took place inside of the home on Martin Luther King Boulevard as a result of a home invasion.

The individual with the gunshot wound is believed to be one of the intruders in this incident, deputies say.

As a result, Tyquan Edwards was reportedly arrested and charged with first-degree burglary and breach of peace high & aggravated. Deputies say more charges may follow.

Edwards is currently being held in the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center awaiting his bond hearing Wednesday afternoon.

JEFFERSONTOWN, Ky. — Kentucky State Police is investigating after an off-duty police officer shot and killed a man Tuesday morning in a Jeffersontown neighborhood.

At about 11:25 a.m., residents in the area of 10000 Robsion Road called police, reporting a man who was knocking on doors and windows and “acting strange,” according to Jeffersontown Police Chief Rick Sanders.

An off-duty officer with Jeffersontown PD was notified by someone at the scene of the incident, not by the department, the chief said.

According to J-Town PD, the officer shot and killed the man who was knocking on windows. It is currently unknown if the man was armed.

The Jefferson County coroner’s office later identified the man as 43-year-old Marco Dorsey.

The department isn’t releasing the identity of the man who was killed or the officer.

Chief Sanders said the officer has been with J-Town PD for two years and previously served with Louisville Metro Police Department.

Since the officer was off-duty, there will be no bodycam footage. However, Chief Sanders seemed confident that surveillance video will help piece the story together.

Anyone else notice that there’s a lot of FGS that are located in and around areas that have a MLK in the narrative? Jus’ sayin’. “…more charges may follow.” I’ll bet they will.

If you’re driving through a strange town, and find yourself on MLK Ave/Blvd/St/Ln – keep your head on a swivel and your gun at hand.
I’ve had to stop for gas a time or two and ended up at a station on MLK xxx – in the daytime. Made it out OK – in the daytime.

I driving down a MLK Blvd in a huge major city; the traffic was bumper to bumper and proceeding at a pedestrian’s pace. Someone yelled at me, “What are you doing here?” I calmly replied, “Hey, ask me something I don’t know.” The crowd roared with laughter and I was given safe passage.

No shit, there I was… it was 1992, Augusta GA. I was in town for a few weeks, attending BNCOC at beautiful Ft. Gordon. My buddy and I decide to go to the mall, he says he knows a shortcut. I fucked up, I trusted him. His route took us down MLK Ave. On that day, I got a much better understanding of what black folks feel in certain white neighborhoods. Two white boys in a Ford Ranger with a Grateful Dead sticker in the window. Not exactly the norm for that area.
