Jacksonville (FL) Man Gets 3 Months in Prison for Faking Service
A 60-year-old Jacksonville Marine Corps veteran, Robert D. Gulledge, has been sentenced to three months in federal prison for falsifying his military service records. While Gulledge legitimately served six years in the Marines as a sergeant, he repeatedly used doctored discharge paperwork (DD Form 214) that falsely promoted him to gunnery sergeant and fabricated extensive experience in counterintelligence, reconnaissance, parachuting, and scuba diving.
According to prosecutors, Gulledge used these fraudulent documents at least 10 times over 15 years to secure employment and veterans’ benefits, including a 2023 application for a State Department contract position and a 2019 application for VA disability benefits.
Following his August 2024 indictment, Gulledge received a sentence well below the maximum potential five-year term.
SMC vet in Jacksonville gets 3 months in prison for faking service record for job, benefits
16 May 2025 | Steve Patterson | Jacksonville Florida Times-UnionA Jacksonville Marine Corps veteran is facing three months in federal prison for repeatedly using faked records of his military service and training to apply for jobs and veterans’ benefits.
Court records say Robert D. Gulledge, 60, served about six years in the Marines and became a sergeant, but he was sentenced May 8 for using discharge paperwork that called him a gunnery sergeant, two promotions above his real rank.
That paperwork, the Pentagon’s DD Form 214, had also been doctored to show a fictional career including about eight years in counterintelligence and about 14 years in reconnaissance, parachute, and scuba diving assignments, according to a document a prosecutor filed in December.
Gulledge “used the false form for employment or benefits at least 10 times over 15 years,” starting in 2009, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said May 15 in a release.
One that raised flags was a 2023 application for a job as a senior research analyst on a U.S. State Department contract. A court record said Gulledge was later questioned and acknowledged using a phony DD 214, as well as submitting a fake training certificate to confirm his work qualifications.
Gulledge had also applied in 2019 for disability benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, submitting the doctored discharge form then as well as in an appeal he filed in 2021 after being turned down by VA, court records said.
He was indicted in August 2024 on a single count that could have led to a maximum sentence of five years behind bars.

The six years in the Marine Corps appear to be valid…
The LinkedIn profile that bears his name and likeness appears to spread the Intel “peanut butter” on a bit thick…

F#@k this asshole, he has brought shame to us legitimate 6 year Sgt’s. For Gods sake why push it that far?
Possibly semi Honorable Service flushed away by his lying ass? Or was he as big a d*ck while serving as he became later?
PHUQUE HEEM…despicable POS. I think that a prior service embellisher is worse than a never served Phony Baloney POS.
This is some straight up Phil Monkress shit right here.
The good thing for this loser is that he will have employment at All-Points Logistics upon getting out and its right down the road!
Eat your heart out, Lori Benton!
A definite lock for the Phil Monkress Leadership Program. Hack Stone went to a career fair where All Points Logistics had a booth. The recruiter said “We steal more valor and commit more contract fraud before 9:00 AM than most people do all day.”
NOW all he needs is some cheap suits from Goodwill and a beat-up old Jaguar!
A used Mercedes with a recent Earl Scheib Presidential paint job could be a work around.
I’d volunteer to beat up his old Jaguar!
The balls on that guy…
Loading up a phony DD-214, and submitting to Uncle Sam as part of your resume is gutsy, and stupid. This isn’t some civilian job where 95% of people don’t even know what -214 is let alone if its possibly illegitimate. You tell the same lies over, and over then start to believe it yourself. He should have fun in Federal pen.
“even know what -214 is”
This is why I keep a copy of mine in the file cabinet along
with some blank SF-180’s that I will gladly sign for anyone
doubting my service.
Worst part of this guy’s punishment is that he is now a felon
and cannot posess fire arms. A right he supposedly was
defending.
He read Joseph Goebbels book on how to lie and make a good living out of it. I think it is a sellout at the Washington DC Barnes and Nobles where the DC Pols buy their books
Just sayin’.

The irony here is that to be an Intelligence specialist, you have to have some intelligence.
Well at least he didn’t dishonor the Brotherhood of the NDSM.
Thank God he didn’t disohnor the Brotherhood of the NDSM. right after this text, I’m going to the walk in closet and check out my NDSM next to my AFEM on my polyester duped whites to make sure their aren’t any accidental tear stains on the white jumper.
He decided to FA, now he’s in the FO, he played stupid games and won a stupid prize that’s NOT going to look good on any background check, now he can get himself a job setting and retrieving traffic cones for road construction!
I don’t know if I’d even give this turd the job of keeping road construction crews safe.
It pisses ME off that us Supply Admin specialists who had counter intel, scuba, parachute, and recon training aren’t allowed to tell anyone about it.
Is this the same Robert David Gulledge who did jail time in 2007? https://www2.ljworld.com/news/2007/oct/30/former_bombardier_supervisor_sentenced/
Dude had six years of honorable service…
Then throws his honorable character into FILTH.
Wonder what his family thinks of him now…
