Othello store shooting injures one

OTHELLO – Authorities are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Saturday afternoon at approximately 1:40 PM in the 2100 block of Bench Rd. Deputies were called to the Corner Store located at the southwest corner of the roundabout following reports of gunfire.

Early reports indicate that Omar Negrete-Galvan, a 20-year-old resident of Othello, entered the store and was involved in a confrontation with the store clerk, Johnathan Enriquez, also from Othello. The exact cause of the altercation is still under investigation, but it escalated to both parties displaying firearms.

During the conflict, Negrete-Galvan sustained a non-life-threatening injury to his leg. He was later transferred to a specialized hospital for treatment of his injuries. In light of the preliminary investigation, law enforcement officials have established probable cause to suspect Negrete-Galvan of Attempted Assault in the First Degree and possession of a weapon capable of causing bodily harm.

No officers injured, suspect dead after shooting in north Denver

Heather Willard
DENVER (KDVR) — On Friday, Denver police said a suspect has died after at least one officer was involved in a shooting Thursday night.

The agency said that none of its officers were injured, but that a suspect was transported to a hospital after the incident.

The agency said the shooting occurred in the 3500 block of Humboldt Street, which is in Denver’s Cole neighborhood. The police department said that the area has road closures.

FOX31’s Gabby Easterwood was at the scene as of 7:30 p.m. and said that crime scene tape had been put up in several locations around the area. She said the initial call for service was received at about 6:20 p.m.

The area is mostly residential, but the location of the shooting appears to be on the same block as the Annunciation Catholic School Church Convent.

Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas said that the shooting happened in the alleyway behind the Catholic school. He said officers were in the area on a report of an armed suspect, and after minutes of asking the suspect to drop his weapon, he “made a move that put the officers in fear of being shot themselves, so they shot.”

Thomas said several officers fired their weapons and struck the suspect several times. The officers were able to take the weapon from the suspect, the chief said, and provided emergency aid until medical professionals arrived and transported him to the hospital.

When the Orificers tell you to “drop it”, it behooves you to DROP IT! That is, if you like your skin intact vs perforated, and your blood self contained vs leaking onto the ground (remember the perforations?).

In the last story, cue the leftist moonbats screaming racism… And expect “fiery but mostly peaceful” protests tonight.. That is if they can still afford the rent-a-rioters with USAID and Act Blue out of commission..

Can’t understand how Colorado keeps having gun crimes…I thought all those restrictive gun laws they passed were supposed to eliminate crime?
