Brooklyn man shot by cops involved in bodega shooting; aimed gun at sergeant: NYPD
A 50-year-old man shot by Brooklyn cops was involved in a violent clash inside a nearby bodega where a round was fired, then took aim at a responding sergeant before officers opened fire, NYPD officials said Saturday.
Police were patrolling Canarsie in two unmarked vehicles at about 9:45 p.m. Friday when they heard a gunshot from inside MMH Food at the corner of E. 80th St. and Flatlands Ave.
As cops approached, they saw the suspect exit the bodega and run off down the street.
Cops chased the man on foot, ordering him to stop, when he suddenly darted behind a tree and raised his gun at an approaching uniformed sergeant.
Four of the responding officers fired at the suspect, striking him in the stomach, NYPD Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera said at a press conference at the 69th Precinct station house early Saturday.

Houston police shoot armed man after hit-and-run crash in second police shooting this week

Houston police officers shot a man after they said he turned toward them while holding a gun following a hit-and-run early Sunday in west Houston, according to authorities.It was the second police shooting in the past week.
The man, whose identity was not immediately released, was taken to a local hospital where his condition was stabilized. He was expected to survive, police department assistant Chief Wyatt Martin said during a briefing at the scene. Neither of the officers involved in the shooting were injured.
The shooting happened just before 3 a.m. in front of a gas station near the intersection of Hillcroft Street and Richmond Avenue.
At 2:57 a.m. officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash at the intersection and discovered one vehicle still at the scene with a driver inside, Martin said.
As officers approached, the driver allegedly exited his vehicle while holding a gun. Martin said officers directed the driver to drop his gun, but he failed to do so and instead turned toward the officers.
At that point, the officers fired their guns and struck the man at least one time, Martin said.

Had a Chevy flatbed with a 300cu straight 6 and granny low. Old, ugly, and got the job done.
Dad had a F250 with the 300cu straight 6 and granny low. Rebuilt twice that I know of, and also got the job done better’n these modern things the kids are driving.
I like my F150 with the 5.0L and a long bed – a little fancier than I need, but what was on the used car lot when I needed it. Had an F150 Super Crew 6′ bed that I loved, until I made a poor decision and tore up the undercarriage.
That’s what skid plates are for.
If you had a Chevy with a 300cid six, someone dropped a Ford engine (possibly their greatest, too) into that Chevy. Closest Chevy ever got to that number was a 292.

That 17 is my favorite snake gun. Can’t tell you how many hundreds, if not a thousand or more water moccasins I killed with it. Might have to clean it, one of these days 🙂
