Former Lake County deputy crashed patrol car while watching porn on phone, investigators say
The Lake County [Florida] Sheriff’s Office says a former deputy resigned after he crashed his patrol car while watching pornography on his phone.
According to the sheriff’s office, Tristan Macomber first told investigators that his brakes had locked up, which caused the crash. Later, they said, the truth came out.
Violation of professional practice
What we knowVideo from a body-worn camera showed the moment of impact, when deputies said Macomber crashed into the car in front of him. Deputies say Macomber’s brakes never locked up, but rather, he was distracted by the video on his cellphone.
After climbing out of his cruiser, Macomber stopped to pick his phone up from the floor. As he did, it was clear that his seat belt wasn’t buckled, either, according to investigators. Deputies also noted that it was a violation of professional practice.
After the crash, Macomber went to check on the other driver, who was stopped waiting for a school bus to pick up students.
“Hello, ma’am. Are you okay?” he said, “I’m so sorry. My brakes locked up.”
FOX 35 talked to the woman Macomber crashed into. She said she wasn’t hurt and the sheriff’s office paid to fix her car.
What’s next
The sheriff’s office says the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is handling the crash investigation. They haven’t replied yet to whether Macomber will be facing any charges in connection with the crash.

Debate over 9-year-old girl getting tattooed in southwestern Arizona
There’s a big debate online about whether a 9-year-old girl should have been allowed to get a tattoo.
That’s what happened at Black Onyx Empire Tattoo in Yuma.
According to a social media post posted by the artist, he tattooed an American flag on the girl who was accompanied by her parents.
A video posted by the artist shows the young girl getting tattooed at the shop.
The Instagram video states that her parents brought the girl to Yuma from out of state.
The girl originally wanted a tattoo of Donald Trump on her neck, but the artist said in the post that he convinced her to get something more patriotic, like an image of an American flag.
A year later, the girl came back for a touch-up of the tattoo.
The video sparked a debate online from people criticizing the tattoo shop.
According to Arizona law, it’s legal to tattoo a child with the parent’s permission.
Ben Shaw with the Alliance of Professional Tattooists said Arizona is one of the least regulated states for tattoo artists, where no license is required to practice.
“It is one of the most frustrating things about our career field and in Arizona where it has no regulations,” he said.
He said just because something is legal doesn’t mean it’s ethical.
“It can give us professionals a bad reputation. If you see a 10-year-old child with a professional tattoo and they say they got it at a tattoo shop, that degrades us as a whole,” said Shaw.
Shaw said in these cases, where it’s legal to tattoo a child in the presence of a parent, it’s really up to the individual tattoo artist to make the call.
Call me crazy, but I don’t think tattoos should be legal until adulthood.

Man shoots off own finger during murder attempt, Florida police say
A Honduran man shot off his own finger during a murder attempt over the weekend, according to the Haines City [Florida] Police Department.
In a release, police said that the incident happened on Sunday around 5:45 p.m. near Tennessee Street within city limits.
At the time, dispatchers received a 911 call from a local homeowner who claimed that someone had been shot at his/her property.
As a result, officers responded to the home, where they found a 42-year-old man who had suffered several gunshot wounds to his upper torso, the release shows. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, though he’s expected to recover.
However, police announced on Monday that the investigation points toward 40-year-old Jervin Romero as the shooting suspect.
According to investigators, Romero and his former partner of over 20 years had been going through a “difficult separation,” and during the separation, Romero had been sending messages to her that threatened “violence and death.”
And on Sunday, Romero informed the ex-partner that he was coming to her home, investigators added.
Police said Romero knocked on the front door that evening, but after the occupants refused to answer the door, he instead walked behind the house, removed a screen and came in through a window.
“Once inside, Mendieta Romero confronted the residents inside, his ex-domestic partner and her new boyfriend,” the release reads. “A verbal altercation ensued between Mendieta Romero and his ex-partner’s new boyfriend, at which point Mendieta Romero pulled out a firearm and shot the male victim multiple times.”
In all, police explained that Romero had shot the boyfriend five times, striking his hand, chest, shoulder and grazing his head. But while doing so, Romero managed to shoot off his own ring finger, police added.
“This caused (Romero) to drop the firearm and flee the residence on foot, leaving his vehicle behind,” the release continues.
Law enforcement officers were ultimately able to find and capture Romero behind some trees within a mile of where the shooting happened, and he was taken into custody, according to the police department.
Now, Romero faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, armed burglary with assault or battery, written threats to kill or injure, unlawful use of a two-way communication device, and resisting an officer without violence.
In addition, police said they discovered that Romero was a Honduran national who is in the country illegally, and he’d already been trespassed from the property back in November and told not to return.
Detectives also noted that there were no documented reports to police about the threats made by Romero toward his ex-partner and her boyfriend.
“Reporting threats, especially in domestic situations, is crucial to preventing violence and saving lives. Often, the warning signs are there, but they go unreported out of fear, denial, or uncertainty,” Police Chief Greg Goreck stated. “We urge everyone to take threats seriously and to trust that by coming forward, you’re helping protect yourself, your loved ones, and your community. We are very grateful that this situation wasn’t worse and that everyone is going to be OK. This is a reminder of how important it is to act quickly and decisively to prevent potential tragedies.”

Florida man accused of impersonating CIA official, caught with guns and fakes federal agent badges: FHP
A Florida man who is accused of impersonating an official with the CIA was arrested on I-75 in Collier County Wednesday afternoon.
The Florida Highway Patrol said 63-year-old Jorge Alberto Alfonso’s pick-up truck was pulled over on the interstate along Alligator Alley. The truck had flashing red and blue emergency lights on while heading northbound on I-75, authorities said.
Alfonso, who is from the Cape Coral area, was the front passenger in the truck when it was pulled over and told troopers he was with the CIA.
FHP said that troopers at the scene found numerous guns, passports, a bulletproof vest and fake federal agent badges – which included the CIA and other agencies.
Alfonso was taken into custody by troopers and booked into the Collier County Jail on false personation of officials and drug possession charges. The pickup truck was towed to FHP’s Evidence Impound Lot.
The incident remains under investigation, according to troopers.

Ok, so let me get this clear, it’s ok to chemically sterilize a child because the parents was a status symbol but tattoos are bad?? Bizarro world if ya ask me..
The police chief in the case of the idiot that shot his finger off says “the warning signs are there”… I agree. His department should have seen them when they trespassed an ILLEGAL, and turned him over to ICE, but instead they let him go, and this is the result… Plenty of stupid to go around in that case.
And does anything really need to be said about Officer Porn???
Damn, three of the four stories are Florida based. We need to start exporting some of these people, us Floridians are getting embarrassed here.

Naw, Mike…can’t do that. Wouldn’t matter if you did export ’em. IIRC there’s somewhere in the neighborhood of 1K people a week moving into your AO. Flur-Ruh-Duh Man (and Woo Man) makes for a “target Rich environment” for FGS and SPoTW Threads. If it’s any consolation, we see more from there because many of the news sources are not hiding behind paywalls and the news doesn’t seem to be suppressed as much as it is in other AOs. Which gives us, unlike Deputy Pr0n,…a Happy Ending!
“Long and lean, every young man’s dream…” The car’s nice as all hell, too. (Apologies to The Possum)
Teh Stoopid…it burns…as it well should.
Ah, damn…….

I’m not a tattoo guy. I don’t have any now nor will I ever. If other people want to, I believe in personal choice and responsibility. However, kids? Its not like young kids make regrettable decisions. Here’s video of Pop Warner/Pee-Wee/CYO footballers with sleeves…
