Alleged armed robber shot, killed in ‘robbery gone bad’ in Chesterfield County: Sheriff
by: Arri Woodhouse
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An alleged armed robber is dead after being shot and killed by a store clerk, Chesterfield County deputies say.On Saturday, Dec. 28 around 8:47 p.m., officials responded to an armed robbery at the Highway 9 Mini Mart & Tobacco store at 28495 Highway 9 in Pageland.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a deceased black male with gunshot wounds.
The store clerk stated to sheriffs that the suspect had entered the store, put a gun to his head and demanded money. The clerk then produced his own handgun and fired multiple shots at the robber, which was confirmed by the store’s surveillance video.
Sheriff Cambo Streater with the sheriff’s office would like to remind the citizens of Chesterfield County that South Carolina law states:
“A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in another place where he has a right to be, including, his place of business, has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his ground and meet force with force, including deadly force, if he reasonably believes it is necessary to prevent death or great bodily injury to himself or another person or to prevent the commission of a violent crime.”
Sheriff Streater strongly supports the rights of our citizens to protect themselves.

That Tarus looks like something Ron Popeil would sell.
it’s a Glocks ugly step sister..
Butter Face.
I appraised a Curve earlier this year that we ended up buying for around $75 or so. I thought about buying it myself but passed up the opportunity to own such a piece of “art”. Pocket pistols–or “mouse guns”–should be minimal and practical. Taurus attempted to maximize practicality, tossing aside any minimalist features in the process.
In my opinion, two of the best modern-ish pocket pistols are the Kel-Tec P3-AT and the Ruger LCP. Honestly, I’ve never owned either, though I have owned a P-32 for over 20 years and an LCP Max for a few years. The .380 has largely supplanted the .32 for carry pistols, as modern designs cram the larger round into similarly sized pistols. Both the Kel-Tec and Ruger are simple non-resetting double action only designs (a misfire or dry fire requires the hammer to be reset), lacking external safeties, and are similar in overall size to the Curve, however, the Curve is significantly wider and heavier. As for me, I’ll stick to the LCP Max. It’s slimmer and lighter than the Curve and offers twice the magazine capacity of any of the other three.
I was looking for a pocket gun a few years ago but I don’t trust .380
I ended up picking up an LC9s Pro. I don’t think they make them any more and I had a bit of trouble finding one when I wanted it, but the “s Pro” is the version without the magazine disconnect and without the external safety.
The magazine disconnect is an unnecessary feature in a carry gun that adds an additional point of failure. I have one gun with a magazine disconnect (a .22 range gun) and it constantly causes issues if you don’t slap the magazine in firmly enough. Not an issue I want to worry about in a self defense situation.
I don’t like external safeties on small guns because they’re made for right handed people and I’m left handed…They’re usually very difficult for a lefty to operate and, again, under self defense conditions, I don’t want to have to worry about that. Even if I never used it, if it got flipped on by accident, it could get me killed. No thanks.
I wanted something single stack to make it thinner and easier to conceal so the LC9s Pro was what I settled on. I’m happy with it. Great for pocket carry in the summer when I’m not wearing as many clothes, also great for use in a “tuckable” IWB holster when wearing dressier clothes that require my shirt to be tucked in, and it fits in an ankle holster nicely if you swing that way (I generally don’t).
It’s slightly bigger than the LCP, but still tiny. Not my primary carry gun (Glock 19), but in situations where I need something smaller, it fits the bill nicely.
Actual use testimonials are appreciated here. That is why you and fm2176 get my updoots.
Dumbass got his ass smoked. “…fired multiple shots…” heh heh shoot til he thinks he’s dead.
“…flown to a hospital for treatment.” Shoulda gave him the Pinochet treatment during the flight.
We had us a dumbass on the ROT that didn’t have his facts together yesterday.
Our Beloved AW1Ed presenting a fugly gunz pr0n to remind us how fugly (GO) Army’s game plan was a coupla weeks ago.
And Taurus wonders why folks sneer at their products.

Kinda unfair to show the Taurus with the slide locked back. In battery it’s considerably more normal.
I agree on the P3AT Max, own both and both are dead reliable. Capacity on a normal Max is 10+1, P3AT 6+1. You can get a 12 round mag for the Max ( but I also have a 10 rounder for the P3AT.) I am a big believer in mouse guns, yhey ALWAYS go with and the man-sized ones are sometimes left home or in the car.
I don’t get the headline on that first story.
Seems to me like a robbery that went exactly as it should go. Nothing “bad” about it.
