Truck owner uses his AK-47 to shoot suspected pickup truck thief

SAN ANTONIO – A suspect is hospitalized after police say a truck owner opened fire on him during an attempted vehicle burglary at a Northwest Side apartment complex.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. Tuesday at the Overlook at Westover Hills Apartments off Westover Hills Boulevard near Rogers Road.

Police said the man was inside his apartment when he got an alert from his monitor system app that someone was messing with his truck.

Officers said he grabbed his AK-47 and his wife grabbed a handgun and they went into the parking garage where they found two suspects around his truck. The truck owner told police he saw a weapon in the waist band of one of the suspect’s and he fired a shot in their direction. The suspects took off.

Police said a few minutes later, a man showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound in the back.

Teen pulls gun on driver, both shot in gunfire exchange, police say

by ALEXA ASHWELL
BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Baltimore Police confirm a 17-year-old is in grave condition after pulling a gun on a driver near southeast Baltimore’s Brewers Hill community.

The Southeastern District Police Community Relations Council told FOX45 News the teen was attempting to carjack the driver.

The Baltimore Police Department’s Media Relations is not confirming that narrative but says the driver and juvenile exchanged gunfire.

According to BPD, on October 8 around 2:15 a.m., an officer was flagged down by a citizen while in the 3100 block of Boston Street, advising he was shot.

Medics responded and took the 31-year-old man to a hospital for treatment, according to officials.

At approximately 2:22 a.m., officers went to the 1200 block of South Haven Street, for a report of a shooting.

Once there, officers say they found a male suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Preliminary investigation revealed that both males were shot while in the 1200 block of South Haven Street.

Detectives say the 31-year-old man was seated in his vehicle in the 1200 block of South Haven Street when he was approached by a 17-year-old male armed with a gun.

The 31-year-old man produced his licensed handgun and exchanged gunfire with the teen, rendering the 17-year-old unresponsive.

The 31-year-old man drove away in his vehicle, locating an officer in the 3100 block of Boston Street.

At this time the 17-year-old male victim is listed in grave condition.

“…..listed in grave condition.”
Not grave enough, he’s not in one.

Tox, some follow on reports show that “he’s dead, Jim.” The state of reporting is as wrecked as the storm damaged South East.

The best feel good story of the day is a report from The Gun Bunny’s Precious Darlin’ Dumplin’ Daughter just east of Tampa is that she, The Grand Baby Girl, and Francis The Kitty Kat are sans power but are safe and dry with plenty of bottled water and food stuffs. Praise The Lord, was a long sleepless night for The Gun Bunny.

The not so feel good story is today’s mission is a trip to the tooth doc for The Gun Bunny and a trip to the doggy doctor for my Trixie Hound Girl. I’ll see y’all this afternoon.

BEHAVE! ps Modern Walther? *spits*

Glad Grand Baby Girl et al are fine.
Hope tooth doc and doggy doc visits go well.

Just hope that you both get to the right doc.
I’d hate to hear that the dog got a tooth pulled, and that you got a de-wormer shot.

To me, that open slide cut out is the weak spot in the P38.
If you shoot anything other than factory box ammo that may have a slightly higher pressure, CRACK goes the slide.
Ask me how I know.

I run nothing but factory round nose thru Dad’s for that reason.
They weren’t using +P stuff in 1938

Both P38 and P1 shoot okay, but my preference is for some weight out front and I have difficulty shooting either as well as other guns.

Early German 9×19 was hotter than most modern commercial loads and NATO standard. I found that Win white box and Blaser wouldn’t cycle a P08.
WW2 loads used iron cores to conserve lead.
I never had any issues with my Mauser made P38. Replacing old springs never hurts.

This is a misunderstanding of history. In 1975 SAAMI standards were lowered by 10% under the idea that most people shot at targets most of the time and this would extend the life of the firearm and theoretically make ammo cheaper. It would also make most guns easier to shoot.

+P ammo is 10% higher and so the same as the original spec ammo, which was used practically since the 1911 was invented. +P+ ammo (over pressure) is higher still however; it is still below that of proofing rounds, which are at maximum rated chamber pressure.

TLDR, +P ammo was standard ammo till 1975, then the new standard rounds were lower pressure.

Well put.
After my crate of Swedish surplus (Hot!) dried up, I got a progressive press and worked up a minimal load that would reliably cycle a Luger.
We definitely don’t have the selection of handgun ammo up here, that you are blessed with.
I found that S&B and PPU makes the best (IMHO) commercial 9×19
If you think domestic 9×19 is kinda wimpy, you haven’t fired Remington 7.92×57
Their reasoning…..someone might fire later S-bore (.323 spitzer bullet) in an original M88 bore (.318 roundnose) Gew88
This was completely unnecessary. The Chinese made a Gew88 knock-off, the Hanyang 88 which had the original M88 size bore and were rarely converted to S-bore. It was found, they had no issue firing .323 spitzer loads , despite this.
The German conversions also did away with the Mannlicher enblock and were fitted to use standard Mauser stripper clips.
