Man killed in Schiller Park road rage shootout ID’d; CCL holder fired in self-defense, police say

SCHILLER PARK, Ill. (WLS) — A 19-year-old Streamwood man has been identified after he was killed by a CCL holder in a shootout Tuesday evening in the northwest suburbs.

Police said the incident was initially thought to be a road rage shooting. A woman was also injured.

The deceased man has been identified as 19-year-old Malachi N. Johnson of Streamwood, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said.

The other man involved in the shooting, who has a valid FOID and concealed-carry license, fired back at Johnson in self-defense, according to Schiller Park police.

“After reviewing all evidence, along with interviews of involved individuals and witnesses, it was decided, along with the State’s Attorney’s Office, that no charges would be brought against the second individual involved as it was determined that he acted in self-defense and possessed a valid FOID and CCL,” a statement from the Schiller Park Police Department read in part.

They keep using the acronym of FOID in Illinois. I have no need of that ID because I am a US citizen in good standing living in a “free state” and that is my FOID.

FOID’s? We don’t need no stinking FOID’s.

Great Wyatt Earp quote.

Some good shooting, and a hand-cannon to mak KoB drool…

I believe the corresponding quote from Bill Jordan was ” You can’t miss fast enough to win”. Several notable gunfights were won by folks who, despite incoming fire, made sure their one shot was decisive.

You know me too well, Brother Graybeard. No computer screens were harmed by the wiping dry of the drool.

Malachi stepped on his Johnson…one last time.

Javon… *Le’Sigh* Claw, you up?
