Eric Bunce; phony SEAL

| February 15, 2017

The folks at Military Phonies send us their latest work on this fellow, Eric Bunce who tried to join in social media groups claiming to be a Navy SEAL with 22 years of service;

His records come up a bit short on his claims;

A search of Eric’s military service indicates that he served in the Navy from July 2, 1991 until February 20, 1993, that is 599 days or 1 year, 7 months, 18 days. Seems a bit short of 22 years of service. We ordered Eric’s military record through a FOIA request. The interesting part is Eric left with a Discharge as an E-1, in the Navy timeline for promotion is E-1 or E-2 in 9 months and from E-2 to E-3 in 9 months. Eric should have left the Navy as an E-3, but he was discharged as an OSSR, Operations Specialist Seaman Recruit (E-1). His records certainly cast doubt on the likelihood of him having an honorable discharge.

Eric’s history of assignments shows Operations Specialist (OS) “A” school then USS Abraham Lincoln. There is no BUD/S or any SEAL Teams assignments.

The folks at Military Phones discovered that Eric’s special training over the last twenty years took place in the local judicial system, but you’ll need to click over to see that part of his records.

Not even a good douche bag, less than 1 enlistment and E-1. Probably not sailor of the quarter material.

IDC SARC

Most likely a shaft alley debutante.

Silentium Est Aureum

Doubt it. The nukes probably would have killed him.

Or wasted 6 rolls of EB Green taping him to the shaft.

HMCS(FMF) ret

More than likely a cockmeat connoisseur with his extensive criminal history…

Yef

UFO watcher. Then got abducted and anally probed.

I think someone has been trying to dump garbage on the TAH site.

Smells a lot like a certain disbarred lawyer and never-was-a-CPO from here.

ex-OS2:

Please proceed inbound to this target ASAP and expend ALL on your first pass.

Target is a former Navy OSSR in the open posing as a phony Navy SEAL. Target is marked by a huge pile of ever-increasing bullshit.

You are cleared hot.

ex-OS2

Cocksucker.

The Stranger

I still see movement on the target. Can we get some Arty or naval gunfire? Where’s ANGLICO when you need them?

Ray

Did somebody call for a forward observer?

Mick

I’ve been running ex-OS2 Close Air Support on this target, but if you want to bring in some indirect fire, have at it. Over to you.

Recommend VT/Quick fuze mix.

WP in effect!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

Shack!

(And I’m assuming that you dropped the napalm version of your standard delivery on this run, being that this assclown is a former OSSR.)

IDC SARC

Could be a whole new DVD series…”Exploding Posers:Cocksucker Edition”

(a la the exploding varmints series)

Fjardeson

Another busted coffee cup. Damn, there’s a lot of action around here. (Goes to PX for METAL coffee cup).

Mick

Sorry about the coffee cup.

Forgot to shout ‘INCOMING’ before ex-OS2 struck the target.

He blowed up real good!

Silentium Est Aureum

Another Sealy McChippendale!

At least Sealy managed to make OSSN before he got tossed.

sj

Good to see you back in the show Jonn.

Ex-PH2

“A” School and he couldn’t even make OS3?? What kind of a wiener holder is this guy?

Mick

Exactly.

We’ve seen this pattern before. He probably had multiple NJPs in a short period of time, which was then likely identified as a ‘pattern of misconduct’, and then the Navy probably bounced him out at the convenience of the government.

As an aside, in his Facebook post above he says that he ‘operated for 22 years’. Operated what for 22 years? I’m sure that the usual suspects on Team TAH (I’m looking at you API, ex-OS2, HMCS(FMF), etc…) will stop in here shortly to speculate.

Let the feeding frenzy begin.

Mayhem

Possibly as a Mechanical Penis Enlarger Repair Technician?

Me no Facebook-ee, so is there also any of the following?

1) A leather vest adorned with a vast array of poser bling?

2) A camo bush cover and a pony tail?

3) Any SEAL tattoos?

4) And how about a service dog to help with that raging case of The PTSD?

Eden

Actually, no. Only one pic of him that I saw, nothing military related. Looks like he posts a lot of political and military-related “shares”, but I didn’t see any mention of SEALs or his service. One FB account for his family and friends, and one for his fake SEAL stuff, maybe?

Dave Hardin

No Facebook? WTF kind of American are you? I bet you don’t like Starbucks either. Get with the program, people everywhere need to know what you had for dinner last night, your dogs name and if you will copy and paste messages of support for different social issues.

You probably still have a land line and cable tv.

Mick

C’mon Dave,

Your overt privilege and cruel micro-aggressions are damaging my self-esteem.

I can’t help it that I still have a landline and cable TV, and that I don’t like Starbucks. That’s just how I self-identify. I’m a victim.

I thought that you were more tolerant and inclusive than this.

— sniff —

— sniff —

(wipes away tears; scurries away to safe space)

Dave Hardin

Wait, I thought you were the privileged one. I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings. You can still have a TAH participation award.

I am a bit offended by the micro-aggressions comment. Something about “mirco” makes me feel less than everyone else.

Mick

I’m sorry, Dave.

— sniff —

I just haven’t been the same since they closed The Brown Bagger outside the main gate at Camp Lejeune.

— sniff —

The only thing that kept me going was that The Driftwood remained in operation.

— sniff —

That TAH participation award that you promised me makes me feel better, too. So thanks for that.

Everyone’s a winner!!!

Dave Hardin

What? You are just a kill joy. The Browm Bagger is closed?

Court Street in the 70’s was the shit. The Skyroom had cross eyed strippers and vomit buckets. Bob really cared about his customers.

Abby’s Video Land got you a “Date” with a girl working her way through college.

The Driftwood was for those who couldn’t handle really nasty things.

The Bowery had this stripper that did a thing with Kool Whip, a weed eater and a live chicken. Truly inspired.

I think the chicken ran off to Ft. Bragg.

IDC SARC

Susie’s kitchen at the Brown bagger was the bomb….it went downhill when they brought in strippers and closed altogether before my last tour in Lejeune was over.

I got my first tattoo at The Bayou when they had Dom, “The World’s Worst tattooist”

Driftwood got a complete makeover and was still operating the last time I was there…but even that was years ago (2005+/-).

Dave Hardin

Yep, still there. http://www.driftwoodrocksnc.com/upcoming-events.html

Bridget the Midget is still dancing !!!

Bernie Hackett

Dave, thanks for saying what I’ve been thinking for the last couple of years. Self centered doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface. What an empty life.
I was thinking I was the only one, or something,. Oops! Getting sucked in.

The Stranger

What about a dog? Inquiring minds want to know

Fjardeson

Cowboys fan. Figures.

Graybeard

Eric Bunce is yet another pathetic loser.

So many claim to be SEALs that I’m beginning to default to “Yeah, riiiiight” as my response.

A Proud Infidel®™

Not just another pathetic loser, he looks like a candyassed meat gazer as well.

Wilted Willy

Oh Shit, the Seal posers are back again! I can only hope that all of these posers get dropped off in the middle of a real Seal group with their stories on their chests for all to see! I’m sure the real Seals would love to give them an example of real Seal training, especially the hand to hand combat training. How I hate these pussy posers! I hope you all eat shit and die!!!

Graybeard

I’m afraid a real SEAL is much to professional to spend time or energy on these posers.
It would be too much like beating a day-old puppy with a baseball bat. Only the posers are asking for it…

Graybeard

– “…much too professional…”
Failed to proofread before hitting the button. Mea Culpa.

Combat Historian

22 year SEAL? More like a lazy trouble-making shitbag who couldn’t even complete his first term of enlistment…

HMC Ret

Finally, we have a SEAL this week. By this time last week we had, what, 2 or 3? This guy is a real rate grabber. Went from E-1 to E-1 in less than two years. I hope this turd doesn’t have benefits, cause you know he caught the PTSD during his ‘career’ and will finagle that into 100% in the VA. Then he’ll get a service dog.

I’m thinking his 22 years as an operator was at night behind the Circle K.

Hoping this is the last ‘SEAL’ for the week. Don’t the Rangers get any respect from posers?

Mayhem

He could write a book entitled “The Seven Traits of Unsuccessful People”

1) Be a Piece O’ Shit every Day of your life.
2) Make wild ass claims of daring-do at every possible opportunity you can.
3)Never accept responsibility. Blame your failures on everyone else.
4) Develop a history of unreliability.
5) Depend on others to provide you with possessions.
6) Be arrogant, rude and obnoxious at every given chance
7) Fuck everything that gets in your way of success to include animals.

That about covers it doesn’t it?

MK75Gunner

Folks, folks…this is all a misunderstanding. What he meant is that he was an Operations Specialist for 2.2 years. It’s kind of like being an Operator for 22 years, except not at all…..

Silentium Est Aureum

And he didn’t even manage that.

He barely made it a year in the fleet.

USMCMSgt (Ret)

Eric “The Bunghole” Bunce.

MrBill

Do I remember Taylor Andrew Kent, phony SEAL, who threatened to sue TAH but never did, and who was apparently discharged from the Air Force for a personality disorder?

http://valorguardians.com/blog/?p=32180

No, can’t say as I do.

He’s been quiet for a while. Must have gotten out of the slammer recently.

HMCS(FMF) ret

The Al

Hey, fucknut- I thought you said you never claimed to be a SEAL. So now you are saying you were? Make up your minds.

ex-OS2

Interestingly, the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) has an anchor from the USS Enterprise (CVN-65).

I was never assigned to an aircraft carrier but spent a week on the USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67) after my gall bladder exploded in 1990.

MSGT_RET

The Abe was one of my first duty assignment options when I completed Quartermaster “A” School in October 1989.

Of course coming from a Navy family, I knew that being a plank owner on a newly commissioned ship would mean non-stop shakedown cruises and a generally shitty first enlistment.

I was smart enough to decline and take the U.S.S. McKee (AS-41) in sunny San Diego instead.

Green Thumb

Another loser with a sub-standard discharge.

Sparks

Shit sack!

Anonymous

Jeez, just once I’d like to see a poseur claim to have been a 71L doing paperwork on a division FOB– man the PowerPoint was awful, occasionally hajji would rocket us (it really sucked when they got the black water truck and we had to dig a cat hole)!

A Proud Infidel®™

Or a 42A in an S1 Section.

AZtoVA

Operating Specialist is different from Special Operator? Are you sure? Seems legit except that there’s no tatoos or motorcycle vest.

lily

These phonies act like if you’re in the Navy you catch the “Navy Seal Virus” and are one just because you’re associated with the Navy. They act like now everyone needs to bow down to their warrior hood prowess.

It kind of reminds me of how so many veterans today are willing to take accolades for the 10% of veterans who see combat. When reading magazines, books and watching movies about war, often all we see is that 10% doing it’s job. So the public is mislead into thinking that 10% is representative of the 100% and now every veteran is possibly a cold stone killer.

I know plenty of people who won’t say “I didn’t fire my weapon on deployment” when it comes to interaction with non-veterans. They gladly would allow their family, friends and strangers think that they deserve the same credit as those 10% who saw combat. I call it stolen valor, but most won’t admit that they secretly allow it.

So the next time you’re in a room with someone and watching a war movie or reading a war story maybe you should say to someone else who’s with you what’s true. If you were there then you can say “I’ve seen some bad things” and if you weren’t you can say “I supported those troops”. Otherwise if you don’t tell the truth then you too are guilty of stolen valor and you know it.

Here’s an example of a war movie so many would allow their friends, family and strangers think was their experience when it most likely wasn’t.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4y79mPrrqQU

This is a seldom talked about type of stolen valor that I’m sick of seeing. Every time I read VFW magazine they have a war story from the Vietnam War. Most civilians reading them would probably think 100% of Vietnam Vets were in fierce jungle fighting when nothing could be further from the truth.

The Stranger

Uh, ok. Just one question? How strong do you have to be to swing that brush you’re trying to paint us with? I have never left the impression with ANYONE I have talked to that I am a “stone cold killer” and have been very candid about never having fired my weapon in anger. I have also seen countless threads where one of our regulars have said something like “I was just a (insert MOS, rate, or AFSC here) and never saw combat…” so I can safely say you’re pissing up the wrong tree.

Weekend Warrior in Texas

I called Haji a dumbass, and I am pretty sure I hurt some feelings and caused some discontent over there. That is just how I roll though.

1610desig

From the look of that photo, it was hard to advance in rate when he’s been on all fours in a fan room enjoying some village people action

Bernie Hackett

1610, while disturbing, it does seem to sum him up.Well put, Sir!

MrBill

He deserves to be kicked in the Bunce, hard, and repeatedly.

“claiming to be a Nay SEAL” Freudian slip?

You may have started a trend with that one.

Anyone know what the USS Abraham Lincoln was doing Jan92 – Feb93?

Curious if he had issues when out to sea or in dry dock.

Daisy Cutter

In early 1992, the ship was at Naval Air Station Alameda on Ship’s Restricted Availability for minor maintenance and refitting. – Wikipedia

HT3 '83-'87

I looked on US Navy Cruise Books for the Lincoln WestPac 1993 Operations…he’s not pictured with the other OS’s.

ex-OS2

Do you have access to other Cruise Books?

HT3 '83-'87

Enjoy:
http://www.navysite.de/cruisebooks/

Great site. I’ve found a few friends & co-workers pics that many thought/wished were never to be seen again.

ex-OS2

Thank you. I have checked that site out before. Unfortunately they don’t have the USS Detroit (AOE-4) 1990-91 Med Cruise. Fold3.com has it, I am just too cheap to shell out the dough.

HT3 '83-'87

We saw the same kind of duty. I was on the The Kalamazoo (AOR-6). My Meds were filled with Unreps & Augusta Bay. “In the rear with the beer” was our motto.

ex-OS2

Did you get two cold cans every 45 days continuously at sea?

The “Dirty D” was an adventure to say the least.

IDC SARC

Splice the Mainbrace!

Yeah, when you’ve been at sea so long, a third beer ration is coming up…it’s played the fukk out.

ex-OS2

Word.

HT3 '83-'87

When we pulled into our ‘base’ of Augusta Bay, Sicily for 24 hours to stock up with ‘food & fuel for the fleet’, we had ‘beer on the pier’ a few times…mmmmm, nothing like PBR’s warmed by the Mediterranean sun. I never understood guys that traded first night’s liberty for a couple of cans.

ex-OS2

Festivities at Souda Bay were always fun.

OS1 USN Ret

I served with this guy on Abraham Lincoln – he was doing this then. When he was an OSSN, he would get mail onboard that was addressed to OS2 Bunce (Spec War). He was claiming to be a SEAL when he was on Lincoln – I guess it just never stopped after the Navy Shit-Canned him. It didn’t surprise me to see him posted on this site.

Man, how come now one pretends to be a Radioman or pretends to have gone through a 2M Course?

26Limabeans

Because being a Radioman is not easy to fake.

26Limabeans

“Because being a Radioman is not easy to fake”.

Let me expand that a bit:
SEAL, RANGER and SF are easy to fake in the eyes of the general public. They see them glorified in movies, tv shows etc. Never ending video games loaded with badassery.
The public knows what it wants and the posers know how to give it to them. They gain fame which to me translates into fortune which they eventually go after and hopefully ends badly for them.
SEAL, RANGER, and SF types deserve the praise they get. They do not deserve to have their valor stolen any more than yours or mine but at least the posers tend to leave us Signal guys out of it.

Where is the fame and fortune of posing as something the public has not one clue about?
I don’t recall seeing a movie or video game titled “Radioman” but I think there should be one and Poe can play the lead.
