Wednesday morning feel good stories
The first story this morning comes from Albuquerque, New Mexico where a homeowner defended himself and his family from two, possibly three, people who tried to turn their lives around in a home invasion. The armed homeowner made one of the intruders DRT (dead right there) and another, taken to the hospital was declared DOT (dead over there).
In Raeford, North Carolina, Michael Bryant and his teenage son had their evening disturbed when two men broke into their mobile home with a shotgun. Michael was shot in the hand while he struggled with the men. The shot that injured Michael also hit one of the intruders in his face-housing group causing the two to un-ass the AO. One has been arrested and police are looking for the other.
In Wichita, Kansas, a 12-year-old girl punched a 16-year-old and 19-year-old who had forced their way into her home. The punch of a pre-teen girl sent the pair running for the hills in fear.
An update to yesterday’s story from Richmond, Virginia about two men who were stabbed, one with life-threatening wounds, well, your prayers worked and it was the bad guy who died from his wounds.
In Running Springs, California, it sounds from the story like the resident defended himself and his family from an invader and made the fellow DRT, but the story is very poorly written, so…
In Jackson Hole, Wyoming, they’re dealing with a different kind of home invaders. A black bear sow and her cub looking for grub broke through a screen door and sent the family scrambling. The government came and drugged up Momma real good before grabbing the delinquent child and carted them away.
In Bradenton, Florida, Steven Haynes is going to have a tough time in jail – the woman whose apartment he was robbing, beat him up, took possession of the items that he’d stolen from her and even took a picture of him before he left. The police rolled him when he reported to his probation officer later. To seal the deal, he had a spoon, a needle and heroin with him for the PO visit.

Aaah, great morning read. 4 who will not commit more crimes. And Momma bear had better stick to eating berries, and teaching her youngun the same. We do not accept others taking what is ours.
Those bears need to learn the dangers of drugs and stay away before they throw their life’s away.
Yet idiots here insist on leaving bird feeders out during the summer, despite being warned not to.
These are also the same morons who put out deer food in the winter, which, because how their digestive system works on an annual cycle based on what food they normally find, ends up bloating their stomachs and killing them by the dozens.
In regard to bears, as everyone knows, cats are in charge of just about everything, and some cats do not appreciate unannounced fur-bearing visitors.
“….Those bears need to learn the dangers of drugs and stay away before they throw their life’s away……”
They were probably released on their own recognizance never to return for their court date.
Two Ds in one story! A DRT and a DOT! Great way to start the day.
And one more possible DRT.
Ahhh. . . .life is good.
The first one is my neck of the woods. Glad the homeowner is not hurt and that two perps won’t be doing anything like that again but I do feel for him.
As Will Munny said in ‘Unforgiven’ “It’s a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he’s got and all he’s ever gonna have.”
That’s a hard thing to live with.
Yea but William Munny was killing for pay, so I understand his regrets. Me, from the standpoint of defending my home, not so much. My motto is, there’s only going to be one story told…mine.
Used to get a lot of bears where I lived before in NM – almost always at the homes of people who thought it was just ducky to feed the cute little bears. Had a Californoa transplant down the road who almost had to be physically restrained from petting an oh-so-cute little cinnamon bear – of about 150 pounds. About equal weight but I think he outclassed her.
Florida can be a crazy place. The FloriDUH blog where the last article appeared is one of my favorites.
