Brandon Garrison phony busted by mates
Bobo sends us a link to Kansas City Fox 4 which tells the story of Brandon Garrison who has been playing the victim of his deployment to Afghanistan for years. He has benefited from receiving a free home and a free service dog. He has done interviews graveside of people he claimed to try and save, but whom he had never even met. Folks who were there with him finally got fed up with his lies about TBI and PTSD and spoke out;
[Robbie Myers, Garrison’s former supervisor in Afghanistan] said Garrison’s claims about bursting both his ear drums while in Afghanistan are not true. In fact, he said, Garrison was never in or even near an explosion that could have caused such an injury.
“You blow out both your ear drums, you are considered a casualty,” Myers said. “It gets reported.”
Myers said Garrison spent the majority of his service in the Korengal Valley in the only air-conditioned office in the outpost.
Myers said he has been dealing with Garrison’s lies ever since 2008. That’s when Garrison was interviewed by HBO for a documentary on the portion of Arlington Cemetery dedicated to veterans of the Afghanistan War.
Garrison is shown standing over the grave of Sgt. Chris Wilson, who served in the same unit and was killed by a grenade.
“I’m taken back to the time where I was holding a dressing on his stomach as he was bleeding out,” said Garrison, looking at Wilson’s grave.
Myers said that’s a lie.
“He was nowhere near him,” Myers said. “He didn’t even see Sgt. Wilson before or after he passed away.”
Of course, Garrison is sticking to his lies. The reporters went to get his side of the story;
When we asked about his comments to HBO regarding Sgt. Wilson, Garrison dismissed our concerns saying “that was eight years ago.”
We also tried asking about his injuries, pointing that none of his commanding officers were aware that he suffered any that would have resulted in burst ear drums or a traumatic brain injury.
“Well they are not doctors,” Garrison said before refusing any further comment and going back inside his home.
Yeah, well, he’s a shitbag and he should lie because someone is going to get pissed off and take his free shit away from him to give to real deserving veteran.

I googled his name and a mountain of material came up, from a Stars and Stripes feature to his latest concern that he may have some disease caused by a burn pit. I also saw a video interview he gave to local news in KC. He has been playing the game–quite successfully–for years. Hell, he even developed an affinity for alcohol as a result of his heavy, heavy combat. Oh, and he most certainly did suffer ‘flashbacks.’ I know because that’s what he told a reporter. The men of 1-32 Infantry deserve an apology for the lies that this asshat has vomited. His disgraceful behaviour will never be accepted by the men of our unit. Great work in calling Garrison out on his disgusting bullshit and keeping the integrity of 1-32 inf. as it should be. I only wish someone deserving of the services he recieved, had received them instead. Hopefully he will do the right thing and give his free home back so it can be regifted to an honest veteran with the integrity of a true soldier.
Garrison is a criminal, a thief. He stole valor, and used that stolen valor to appropriate goods and services that should have gone to other veterans who actually needed them. This blog and comments like yours will go a long way to making sure people find out what and who Garrison really is. It may take time, HAS taken time, but it will catch up with him, eventually.

Hmm. Two burst eardrums would definitely require medical treatment, if for not other reason than to preclude infection (that can actually be pretty damn serious). It would also generate a casualty report – and a Purple Heart, if due to enemy action.

I know for a fact that it would require evacuation. A buddy of mine had that happen to him in 2005-06 (can’t remember exact date) when he hit an IED. He ended up getting evacuated.

Sgt Christopher Wilson is my son , I am looking to understand how someone could come to me face to face and tell me that my beautiful boy died in their arms. I have have lived with this for 8 years now I am facing living this over again and trying to find a new reality. When I heard garrison say it s been 8 years does he imply that I should get over it? What I want is for him to tell me face to face why he could or felt that he had the right to, tell me this story. I firmly believe there is a special place in hell waiting for him. Dana, for reasons it would take too long to explain, I feel I am qualified to address your comment. Your daughter has been latched onto by a voracious parasite. He’ll use her and hurt her (emotionally, if no other way) and your granddaughter, until the farce that is their life comes crashing down, and he’ll either abandon them or drag them with him. Years of their lives will be spent in real misery, and they won’t be able to get them back. Whatever it takes, re-establish contact with your daughter, as soon as possible. She’s going to need you more than she knows, and you might be the only ones who can help her when the time comes.
It sound like the sooner Brandon Garrison gets put in jail, the better. He sounds like a remorseless conman, a psychological and emotional predator as well as a sociopath.
Dana, one thing you could try is getting an attorney, I am not sure how things are in your state but most states now allow grandparents visitation no matter what the relationship is with the child. An attorney will bring in the fact all that he has done by pretending he was more than he truly was, how much hurt he caused the poor lady by telling her he was with her son when he died and so on. Ask for at least every other weekend visitation and a couple weeks in the summer……..ask for more if your attorney thinks its possible to get. Re-establish the relationship with your grandchild whether you do your daughter or not. At least than your grandchild will know who to turn to when she needs them. My heart breaks for you and your family and I will pray that your family members come back to you soon.
Take the issue and this story to Child Protective Services and insist on judicial intervention for the sake of tyhe childs welfare.

Seriously, a PTSD diagnosis begins with a form describing in detail what and when one was affected. Those accounts do not include “The base I was on received incoming mortar.” Sorry loser, that’s not enough to continue the conversation. Generally speaking, any PTSD claim is verified for truthfulness, accuracy, and effect on the claimant. Even today, if someone who served in RVN makes a claim, it can easily be verified. We all know records of every major battle are kept, not to mention small skirmishes that were short but traumatic under certain conditions. Hope he loses his house, gets butt-fucked by his dog (he’d probably enjoy that!), and has to leave town.
Somewhere down the line it all starts with a claim. That’s where all went wrong in this case. Right for him, but WRONG for all those who made the ultimate sacrifice. I wouldn’t piss in his mouth if his guts were on fire.

I found out this guy used to work for the VA and went into another veterans file to check their combat veteran status. He did this to a friend because they received support from a veterans organization and he basically got jealous it wasn’t him.
Sounds like it’s only a matter of time until he really steps on his crank and gets the carpet yanked out from under him, I just hope his Wife then sees him as the conman he truly is, and yes, people like Brandon Garrison have a special place in hell awaiting them! I’m sure we’ll hear more about him and his antics in the future, hopefully it’ll be about him getting called out for what he’s conned folks out of!

Unfortunately, the article says the house was provided “based on his status as an honorably discharged veteran”. Assuming he actually was discharged honorably, that may make it damn near impossible for whatever organization or entity gave him the house to reclaim it. Dunno. But I hope they try.
Still, the fact that one charity was able to reclaim his ill-gotten free dog is a good thing.
