Some phony SEALs

| September 16, 2013

I snagged these photos from Don Shipley’s Facebook page. Since many of you sociopaths don’t go to Facebook, I thought you might be entertained;

Damon Garland

Same guy, Damon Garland, with a kitty;

Damon Garland2

What, you don’t have a Trident on your bathrobe?

Totally legit

Don says he’ll identify this guy later, but 9 Navy Crosses, 3 Medals of Honor, eight Silver Stars, 9 Bronze Stars, ELEVEN National Defense Service Medals – I wonder how he had time to earn all of that stuff in between the awards ceremonies.

Classified SEAL

Here’s another one bumming money on the street, but he had enough money for the tattoo;

so there i was, no shit…. earning my third Medal of Honor… Had to meet the president, AGAIN….

RM3(SS)

Finally we get our due! that first clown is wearing dolphins. He is really high speed low drag, 3rd class PO but managed to qualify in submarines after his earning his trident! Poor kitty don’t look happy though.

Smitty

ok, and having seen his DD 214, i gotta say, totally legit. 18 years foreign service time in a 21 year career, all duty stations classified, has SEAL right there in his rank on the first line right where it says hes a o-6 (or is he an E-7? it changed later in the form) said he bullshitted zoology and other subjects, ill believe he bullshitted a lot of stuff.

Combat Historian

THREE (3) MOHs awarded; damn, Manila John Basilone would be envious…

Bobo

The asshat in the blue Judo suit is the reason why I’m having problems with the idea of sending the kid to a martial arts program. I have no idea who the guy running the class really is.

martinjmpr

@3: Yup, seems legit. Let’s see, 11 NDSMs that would be: GWOT, Desert Storm, Vietnam, Korea, WWII, the Haitian and Nicaraguan expeditions; The Polar Bear War, WW1, the Punitive expedition into Mexico in 1916, and the Phillipine Insurrection (did I miss one?) Totally believable.

I also like the BS in Law. Yeah, I’ll bet he’s got a BS in law. 😀

2/17 Air Cav

@6. Yep, and he followed that up with a “JURIS DR.” I don’t know what that is but a JD is a degree in law.

Yeah, mj, you missed Veracruz 1914.

A Proud Infidel

I’m still crusading for “National Beat a Poser Month” during which any and every Real Veteran will be allowed to beat as many posers as he or she wants to every day. During the rest of the year, Real Vets will only be allowed to beat up to twelve posers each day. Whaddya y’all think?

Bubblehead Ray

I don’t know RM, that looks like surface warfare to me. Can’t see it clearly, but doesn’t seem to be the right shape.

NHSparky

Pretty sure those are “water wings” and not dolphins. Course, he’s sporting an OS3 crow so he’s faking the fish if they are dolphins. Also wondering where he got the NCM…to see that on an E-4 is unusual, to put it mildly.

NHSparky

My bad…that’s a NAM…but not a usual award. And looking at other side you do NOT wear your entire rack over there…only ribbons for which no medal exists.

And nice ball tickler on his chin there.

Bubblehead Ray

Son of Soup

The Fonz

The first fake’s standing pose reminds me of the sailor printed on those Cracker Jack boxes. I wonder if Bubba has that phony’s prize.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

@1 and they always have an abundance of Dr. Pepper at the White House….

SEAhorse

He lost me at zoology….

LostOnThemInterwebs

Third dude down brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu? he should be REALLY easy to find, there aren’t many brown belts in BJJ that are not professional fighters, takes around 11 years to get a black belt and requirement after blue belt is to go into tournaments all the time, he has the “SEAL Slam” patch on the left side (that should be his ‘team’) and I can’t distinguish the patch on the right but is not Machado’s neither Gracie’s (I train at Gracie so I know that one by heart I had to look for Machado’s patch …

Looks like a BJJ phony too, I guess that shows that once you start lying you’l never stop!

Roger in Republic

No way the dude in the last picture is permanently attached to that wheelchair. The one thing I know about wheelchairs is that they give you big guns! His arms look like pipe stems.

TheCloser

@3- That PTY OFCR E7 in block 19 is the Rate/Rank he supposedly entered the service as. His O6 DOR is also the day he got out. Seems legit to me.

Bobo

RM3, that’s a skimmer badge. I couold make it out on the photo. Like NHSparky said, also no OS 3’s on a boat.

OIF '06-'07-'08

It really pisses me off when someone that does this kind of BS just does not know what the law is regarding the MOH. Any service member can be nominated unlimited times, but can be awarded only ONE Medal Of Honor in their entire lifetime.

Smitty

@19, of course, everyone comes in as an E-7 now, right? my recruiter screwed me, i only came in as an E-1 and got out an E-5. i heard if they filed the paper work i would have been an E-7, but you know those recruiters dont do anything after they get ya to sign

LebbenB

Smitty. Your GT wasn’t high enough to qualify for that program.

Andy

@21, actually, it is no longer possible to receive more than one MoH for the same action. This went into affect in 1919 after WWI. It is still possible for a person to receive more than one MoH, but with the fact that all current and probably all future recipients will be excluded from combat, I don’t see it happening again. There are 19 two time recipients http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medal_of_Honor#Double_recipients

as for the ass hat martial arts 3 time MoH dude, it takes a special kind of stupid to claim 3 MoH. I predict a mid tier seed in the next tourney if his overall story proves to be good.

NHSparky

Lebben…mine was and I still only came in as an E-3 and got out as an E-6.

2/17 Air Cav

@24. I was prompted earlier today to look at the Medals of Honor that were awarded for Wilson’s Veracruz Vacation in 1914. Within a 24 hour period–April 21/22–56 Medals of Honor were doled out, with nine to the Marines and 47 to the Navy. Yeah, the math says that’s better than two per hour. General Smedley–who was pissed about the mass award– tried to return his but the Navy refused.

Ex-PH2

@6 – martinjmpr, you left out the Spanish-American War.

martinjmpr

@27, I didn’t forget it, I hit the magic number 11 before I got to it (the PI Insurrection was AFTER the Spanish American war and that was the last action I noted.)

Let’s not give the guy credit he doesn’t deserve! His 100+ year military career speaks for itself! 🙂

OWB

If I had a trident, maybe I would wear it on a bathrobe?

Veritas Omnia Vincit

How does anyone look at that 214 without laughing at this 4ssclown?

I do like the degree in zoology maybe he was with Nikko De’Lozada when they were using the dolphins to fool the enemy into seeing fish instead of 4ssclown posers….

mark

Is that a USNA plebe dixie cup on that first guy?

martinjmpr

As for the somewhat excess of MoH’s in the past (including a bunch that were awarded in peacetime) I seem to recall that until the early part of the 20th century, there weren’t very many medals available, so if a soldier, sailor or marine distinguished himself in combat or otherwise, the commander’s only options were to give him an MoH or give him a hearty slap on the back and maybe a 3 day pass.

Green Thumb

Losers.

mark

Guess it’s the shadow from the flash. Cute though.

martinjmpr

Oh, and a bottle of booze. I’m pretty sure that was common (and probably more appreciated by the enlisted folk than a MoH anyway) 😉

Andy

@26, and I thought the Bronze Star farce from the Bosnia (or was it Kosovo?) air campaign was bad. The attitude towards the MoH has changed greatly over the years. At least Veracruz wasn’t as bad as the 864 MoH given to the 27th Maine.

Ex-PH2

Is Clown #1 wearing a Naval Academy cover?

@28 – I’m pretty sure that you could include the Civil War (the crew of the Monitor) and/or the War of 1812 in that, too.

Green Thumb

The place on Jive Fake-do’s birth certificate says “Hollywood”.

That should suffice.

2/17 Air Cav

@36 But those issued to the 27th Maine were revoked. Every. One. Of. Them. Hell, I believe they were handed out as a re-enlistment inducement or something.

USMCE8Ret

Not that it matters, since we all know it’s bullshit, but… the zip code on the address on the DD 214 (Encino) is also wrong. 4772 Haskell Avenue, Encino, CA is 91436. 90401 belongs to Santa Monica.

2/17 Air Cav

Like the old grey mare, the Medal of Honor ain’t what it used to be, thank goodness. That’s why I usually check out any one issued before WW II, but even that’s not always safe. Teddy Roosevelt was awarded one–in 2001.

martinjmpr

@40: FWIW zip codes do change over time, as post offices open and close.

Andy

@39, they, along with several other questionable awards of the MoH were all revoked by a board of review in the early part of thee 20th century, but no attempt was made to retrieve them. As a side note, the only reason 864 were issued to the 27th is because nobody at the war dept had a list of the 300+ members that were supposed to get it, so they sent one for every man, the commanding 27th officer gave them out to the soldiers that had stayed in DC, then refused to return the other medals to DC because he was worried someone would try to issue them out to the remaining members of the 27th.

Don H

The part I like is that the DD-214 is so lame that it lists Airborne School in his military education, but no wings in the awards.

Legislation was recently introduced into Congress to allow the award of more than one Medal of Honor to individuals deserving of them. Apparently the way the original was written, if you were awarded a second medal (besides all those pre World War II ones), you wore a “V” on the pad. And they were thinking that looked lame, so if you were actually able to earn two, why not let you wear two. Here is a link to an article about it in Army Times:

Sgt Crum

Three Medals of Honor? Pfft! I have four. NO, wait a minute, FIVE! Just got another one for emailing the Pentagaon a funny drawing of Assad being dragged behind a Bradley being driven by Kaddafi.

2/16

I think the guy self admitted to lying… did you see all the BS degrees he had? I bet he legitimately has a bullshit degree, not very good though.

TheCloser

Don never has identified Steve ‘the pig guy’ with the three MOHs.

BTW Don, interesting factoid; there are three times as many SEALs as there are Master Chiefs.

Green Thumb

The black dude takes the cake.

Rock on!

sheldon scott bradley

the fake bjj guy was never a SEAL. data base was checked. My personal bjj instructor contacted the ibjjf. the guy has never competed in a tournament. he holds himself out now as a bjj black belt. he has no records as having ever competed at any level. he is a con artist from chicago. he is not a bjj black belt. unique lishon gaithings sr. was never a navy SEAL and has never been affiliated or competed in the international brazilian jiu jitsu federation organization period! He is a phony.
