Phony Vietnam Vet calls Republicans clowns

Harkin clown

Tom Harkin, the Iowa Senator, sent the above message out to his supporters. Harkin used to pretend that he was a fighter pilot over Vietnam with tales of his derring-do. He actually ferried jets from Japan to the Philippines – not that there’s anything wrong with that, unless you turn it into stories about combat operations and reconnaissance missions that never happened. From Instapundit;

In 1979, Mr. Harkin, then a congressman, participated in a round-table discussion arranged by the Congressional Vietnam Veterans’ Caucus. “I spent five years as a Navy pilot, starting in November of 1962,” Mr. Harkin said at that meeting, in words that were later quoted in a book, Changing of the Guard, by Washington Post political writer David Broder. “One year was in Vietnam. I was flying F-4s and F-8s on combat air patrols and photo-reconnaisance support missions. I did no bombing.”

That clearly is not an accurate picture of his Navy service. Though Mr. Harkin stresses he is proud of his Navy record — “I put my ass on the line day after day” — he concedes now he never flew combat air patrols in Vietnam. . . .

Mr. Harkin’s Navy record shows his only decoration is the National Defense Service Medal, awarded to everyone on active service during those years. He did not receive either the Vietnam Service medal or the Vietnam Campaign medal, the decorations given to everyone who served in the Southeast Asia theater. “We didn’t get them for what we did,” Mr. Harkin says. “It’s never bothered me.”

I guess the funniest part of Harkin calling Republicans clowns is that the Democrats’ head clown and known plagiarist, Joe Bite Me, was in Iowa yesterday, too.

Thanks to Twitchy for the tip.

Yup, fighting the Vietnam War while drunk and whoring in Olongapo after a ferry mission. Fuck you, harkin, fuck you…

As an Iowan, I have always been embarrassed this fool is from my state. But, am very happy he is retiring.

Bite-Me was in Iowa, too? Well, that explains it. Harkin couldn’t help himself, he had to try to outdo Bite-Me.

Never certain whether to assume that a clown is best qualified to identify another clown, or that the clown is simply lying. With this clown, the choice is so much easier since he is a proven liar.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

I don’t necessarily disagree with Mr. Harkin, I remain massively unimpressed with Cruz and Paul two apparent 4ssclowns of the first order of magnitued….

I guess I would chalk this one up to one liar knowing how to identify some other liars and fakes…

2/17 Air Cav

Here’s one big reason why assholes such as Harkin get re-elected time and again. From his website, I offer the following explanation. Oh, these were just among others over the past several WEEKS!:

Included among the projects is a groundbreaking study for a new regional airport in Pella.

3) Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) today announced that three Iowa airports will receive a total of $3,467,742 from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for airport rehabilitation and construction projects.

4) U.S. Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) today announced that three Iowa organizations will receive funding totaling nearly $600,000 to help Iowans sign up for quality, affordable health insurance through the new health insurance marketplace opening in the state on October 1st of this year.

5) Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) today announced that the Ottumwa Regional Airport will receive $419,791 from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to install a wildlife fence around the perimeter of the airport.

6) Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) today announced that Primary Health Care, Inc. will receive $537,140 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to open a community health center in Ames. The funds were made available through the Affordable Care Act (ACA)….

Old Trooper

He’s still in the Senate? I thought he took his left over campaign funds and retired?
