Bryan Henn; worst son in the world
Someone sent us a link to the story of Bryan Henn, who was a soldier and he’d told his family that he was deployed to Afghanistan, and that he’d been awarded a Purple Heart. His parents nominated him for a local hero award from the Red Cross which led to his mates finding out about his lies and calling him out. Here’s the local news story;
Apparently, according to the person who sent this to us, Henn was on rear detachment and stayed behind at Fort Carson while his squad deployed;
“I sincerely regret that Bryan has besmirched their integrity and their honor, all our military women and men, especially those who have served in harms way and those who were wounded in action, those who have died,” said Darlene.
“I can only apologize for the actions of our son. I hope they take that to heart because it’s sincere from me and it’s sincere from my wife,” said Darryl.
“It’s hard seeing the family go through this. They were basically humiliated by their own son at no fault of their own. We don’t blame them or anything like that. We actually feel bad for them,” said Cpl. Wesley Barrientos, retired, U.S. Army.
Good on the parents for coming clean as quickly as they did and good on KGET for making it right. Anyone else want to make the argument that Stolen Valor is victimless?

Unfrtunately, these poers do not consider the collateral damage ther lies will casuse, in this case the family. I extend total sympathy tot he family, but as for the poser, he can go ef himself. I am sure the Army Chain Of Command has some remedial acion in this youn man’s immediate future.

I am sorry for the parents. I won’t watch the clip, though. I feel bad enough already. They are wrong when they say that their son has besmirched the honor and integrity of others. That honor and integrity is intact. The son’s is lost. Only he can make amens and, perhaps, one day, redeem himself.
When I was doing my second tour in Okinawa, we had a guy that went from Cp to Pvt in about two months. He was facing about six months in the brig with a chicken dinner. His father wrote a letter to the Battalion Commander apologizing for the disgrace that his son brought to the Marine Corps. I felt sorry for the father. Not so much the son.
What a turd merchant. When this kid gets home, I hope his dad beats the snot out of him.
Something seriously wrong with a clown who would lie to his own parents about his military service. Too bad he did not inherit the integrity gene.

I sympathize deeply with these parents. My middle son, having been influenced by the towering genius of the conspiracy whackjobs David Icke, and Jim Marrs, decided after 4 1/2 years of honorable service, a tour in Iraq, and 5 months out from ETS, to announce his sovereignty from the authority of the U.S. government…after, of course, spreading seditious B.S. among the E-4 mafia in his company about the NWO, Illuminati, and how the Army is controlled by “the occult”. He was lucky to walk away with a chapter 13.

Combat wounds know no rank, and I’ve known a few junior NCOs and enlisted with medical retirements. Amazing what a quick Google search can pull up; if only others would do the same.

As long as people are apologizing, although I do not recall posting the first comment, I extend a sincere apology to my tenth grade English teacher for the spelling tragedy posted under my name. Maybe I was channeling Wickre at the time.
Incase anyone would like an update on this loser. He did not make it far. He is a hop and a slip from fort cartoon living in a red truck under a rail road bridge on the west side of pueblo. Near the river. When he was discharged hew showed up at my house. A single Mother of two struggling. He lives with me for the past six months sucking my children and I dry with his lies. I finally three him or when he lied to me about getting a job and was only using the money I gave him for gas and food to take some other unsuspecting victim our to dinner. The same photo used in this story of him can be found on almost every dating website. He is a very heavy drinker. He is probably wasted under that bridge. I don’t know why he won’t just leave pueblo. He has no place here.
It’s obvious there are issues upstairs , low self esteem, probably substance abuse issues an identity crisis , and a pathological liar he is young and mistakes will be made , I am sure after two yrs of bullshit there were off ramps to derail this story telling and living this internal fantasy to impress his loved ones. He should have come clean before the awards although his shame wouldn’t allow it, pulled his parents through the mud right down Main Street in front of the whole town. We all make mistakes i am not share if he can redeem his self but he should try , getting sober would be a great place to start , therapy is needed here I hope he gets it, not sure he deserves the title here , what about the kids shooting up schools killing there peers in mass matey the title belongs there.
