Ex-Marine liar trading bombs for coke in Colorado

| January 30, 2013

Yeah, I know that there are no ex-Marines, but I think you’ll agree with me on this story sent to us by TSO Denver’s ABC 7 News;

Sandberg allegedly told an undercover federal agent he was willing to trade homemade fragmentation bombs for cocaine, according to the affidavit from the undercover investigation. Sandberg allegedly said that the bombs had a 20-meter “kill zone” and were laced with shrapnel and stainless steel BBs.

A search of his home by local police and federal ATF agents last week revealed 31 improvised bombs, a shotgun, a handgun, a rifle and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition, authorities said in the hearing on Tuesday.

A former Marine, Sandberg claimed that he served in “Special Ops Recon SS Marine Corps” and was deployed to war zones in Iraq, Somalia, Africa and Pakistan, according to the affidavit. However, his official military personnel file indicates that he was discharged after two years of service in 2005 as a lance corporal, and he was never deployed.

I guess he was doing his best Eddie Murphy impression. I’ll make a guess that his departure from the Marine Corps wasn’t amicable either, seein’s how he left in 2005 with no deployments. There were plenty of opportunities to deploy in those years, unless he was a sergeant major of course. I know he’s guilty because the only photos I can find of him are shirtless and talking on his cell phone in his driveway – in the classic “Cops” take down mode.

MOS: Turd catcher

Two things jumped out at me on this one. 1) His homemade explosive devices could have potentially caused more death and mayhem than any of those scary black guns, had he been of a mind to use them that way, and 2) with only 2 years in service in the Corps, it is highly unlikely he learned how to make those explosive devices in the Corps, unless perhaps he had an MOS that exposed him to the inner workings of homemade IEDs, like EOD tech or something similar. But that still seems unlikely to me.

Ex-PH2

The question is: how was he planning to use those HEDs? And where?

Just an Old Dog

One thing they will never report is if those bombs would even function. They like to leave the public thinking that the guy was some sort of evil genius. Chances are good the shit he had would never had detonated.

Gunny G

So….just wtf –‘cept many boot-jarheads–ever said there ain’t no ex-Marines!

BS !!!!!

A Proud Infidel

SS Marine Corps, WTF is that? Anyway, he’s gonna be some other inmate’s “‘lil piggy” now, WEEEEEEE,…WEEEEEEEE!!!

David

@ A Proud Infidel,
I was thinking the same thing!

Twist

@2, I’ll give 10-1 odds that he learned how to make bombs online instead of in the Corps.

USMCE8Ret

@6 – I think “SS” is anticipation of his next occupation at either FCI Englewood or FCC Florence – “sex slave”.

Ex-PH2

@6 – Infidel, ‘SS’ stands for ‘secret squirrel’. The SS Marine Corps is the ‘Secret Squirrel Marine Corps’. It’s so secret the USMC doesn’t know anything about it. In fact, it’s so secret, it doesn’t even know anything about itself.

A Proud Infidel

USMCE8, PH2, thanx for setting this Army E-5 straight!

GunnyG-would you at least agree on name of guys that get booted from our corps-non marines-better yet, scumbags. thank you for your service gunny, just a recon cpl.

Common Sense

“a shotgun, a handgun, a rifle and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition”

I hate how they list weapons like that, making it sound like you’re a criminal if you have them. Most law-abiding gun owners have far more than that.

The bombs though, are another story.

GuinnessForStrength

The only “Ex” Marines are the ones who get kicked out or murder someone.

EdUSMCleg

I imagine “SS” may have stood for Scout Sniper. Anyhow, glad this idiot is going down. Boils my blood when Marines lie about their service. Why not just be proud of what you DID do? However, I guess if I was kicked out after 2 years I wouldn’t be too proud either. There is such a thing as an “ex-Marine” when it comes to d-bags like this… IMO anyways.

USMCE3TLCPL

Actually our Scout Snipers occasionally us the term SS but somehow i doubt he was one. Lyin turd. As per the knowledge of explosive you dont really need that great of knowledge to create a working bomb. Two years is plenty of time to learn how they work my bet is he was a headquarters nondeployable.

Frankly Opinionated

“and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition”
Sooo, since I shop for ammo monthly, and plan to shoot 100 rounds of .22L.R. each of 4 days per month, 20-22 days X 100, they’d shit themselves to see that I have “More than 2,000 rounds of Ammunition”.
Caliber, usage, etc. are of no consequence when writing their gun scare report.
