That green-on-blue attack this morning

| September 30, 2012

So, this is how I’m hearing that the attack happened this morning. A sergeant first class and a contractor approached an ANA checkpoint and struck up a conversation with the officer in charge of the outpost. In mid-sentence, the ANA officer shot the contractor and the sergeant first class, who went down returning fire.

As the sergeant first class was shot, the entire 17-man Afghan unit opened fire on the US convoy which was passing through the checkpoint. Three other soldiers were injured, and one is critical.

That means that there were 17 m’er f’ers who had slipped through the system that we were assured was in place to weed out the goat raping thugs who planned on killing Americans. 17 of them in one unit.

But, don’t worry, because General John Allen is “mad as hell” about it;

ISAF commander General John Allen told US 60 Minutes program in an interview recorded before the latest incident, and scheduled to be aired today, that insider attacks were unacceptable.

“I’m mad as hell about them, to be honest with you,” he said. “We’re willing to sacrifice a lot for this campaign, but we’re not willing to be murdered for it.”

I hope he cleared his anger with the White House, because it was just a few weeks ago Jay Carney told us that the casualties from the “insider” attacks was “negligible” in terms of the strategy.

So, I guess if you ignore the problem long enough, it’ll become the strategy after a while, huh?

By the way, if you’re looking for a link to the report of how that attack happened this morning, there won’t be one. Either take my word for it or don’t. I know their names and the unit, too, but I’m not sure if the NOK has been notified yet because I don’t see the names anywhere.

I’m SO happy we have a Gin-U-Wine Guru here to show us the way. We, the poor, uneducated masses have been sitting here patiently ignorant in our ways, unknowingly longing for a truly enlightened soul to come along and show us the way, the truth and the light.

It still astounds me that when a policy created by the Obama Admin to cut and run from Afghanistan is having the predictable results, the opponents of the politician support his plan to abandon an enemy, because the enemy has effectively infiltrated our Ally.

I believe it was Patton that said: the road home is through the enemy, by defeating them.

You have 36 days to help convince American voters to help change the policy maker that caused this problem. You have had 11 years to forget why we went to Afghanistan. But it appears to me, that Obama’s propaganda machine has turned his opponents into allies of his “ending of wars” rather than supporters of Victory over our enemies.

Hell, we lost more than 2000 Troops on the beaches of Normandy alone.

Not a guru, Nik.
Just a conscience, perhaps.
Would you just like to walliow in an echo chamber where everyone marches lockstep rather than a healthy forum with a free exchange of varying ideas.
Bit bloody boring, no?
I mean, if you have anything substantial to say in contradiction, let’s hear it.

Equal Animal, have you travelled outside your little happy place? Have you seen the world? Contrary to what Sean Penn might have you think, it’s not all chocolate rivers and gumdrops. It’s a jungle out there, and just like putting a lamb (or a hippie) in a lion’s cage, it’s pretty damn violent and messy. Those evil lions didn’t get the memo that the sheep (or hippies) are equal, I guess.

Funny how if I were to go to a liberal website such as Kos, DU, Huffpo, etc., my membership would be terminated before I hit my second post (and has more than once.)

Physician, heal thyself. Maybe if you realized that most of the people here have served, most in combat, many in Iraq and Afghanistan, you’d realize what a condescending shitheel you sound like right now. Yeah, they want to be lectured by a kid (most likely) who has yet to look past the local Occupy Kum-Bah-Fuckin-Yah rhetoric and realize that there are in fact some evil motherfuckers out there who would happily saw your head off with a dull butterknife and fuck your dead corpse just because it’s what they do for kicks.

Again, it’s okay not to post when the adults are talking. Really.

Oh. My. Excuse me. A conscience. I feel all privileged and shit.

You haven’t said anything of substance yet. Just a bunch of fluffy-bunny nothing. You’re like an Aikido-ka. You haven’t really said anything of substance and are waiting around for the attack.

Nah, I recognize a kool-aid drinker when I read one. I’m not going to play your silly game.

All Animals Are Equal

Scubasteve: Yessir, I’ve traveled a bit. Have lived in 3 countries and what you say is partly true, but there are some figurative chocolate rivers and strawberry fields if you look around a bit. If you have some means, you don’t really have to live in the sewer.

NHSparky: Why the heck would you go to a silly liberal website? You won’t get any satisfaction at any of those places.
Thankfully, I haven’t served. Most wars are made up, but If I find one for a rational cause (like defending something truly worthwhile) I’ll fight it. But it’ll be for a cause not a career, and it won’t be in an occupational war in a no-win country where the people don’t want my democratic ideals or my thirsty oil contractors either. That’s assured.
And you’re quite right, they’d shank me in a millisecond in some of those countries just for speaking English, so seriously, why go to a dead-end location for zero return? Ten years from now, what will have been the point?
And actually, got a feeling I might be a bit older than you actually, but that’s ok. I’ll take that as a compliment.

Nik: So what’s in the kool aid?

My foreign policy. It’s as easy as washing your hair.

Click, boom, repeat.

A few well placed tactical nukes will not only cure this problem, it will also teach the muslims (yes, I said it) the lesson the japanese learned in 1945 and the germans before them. Notice how long they have been nice to the US? Libya even learned the lesson at the hands of President Reagan, and they were quite for a long time.

Savages only understand force, so to make the point, overwhelming force is required, not as a last step, but as a first step.

With these savages, the desire for dialog and peace is weakness. Make them pay up front,b and heavily, and they will play nice and want to make peace as well.

If somebody can show me SOMETHING good that Afghanistan brings to the world, then I would disagree with nuking the entire sh1th0le country. One thing. Art? Science? Anything positive that Afghanistan has EVER contributed?

Nuke em.

Blankets that have been keeping old women warm for millenia? I dunno. That’s all I could come up with off the top of my head.

Even the Chinesse have not tried to control their western regions which are pretty much all the same same with the assorted stans more than either us or the rest of China. Perhaps we could have learned something from their experience?

However, for those of us who bought into the original mission to keep the terrorists busy over there instead of over here, it was worthwhile. At least until we realized that instead of securing our own country, we were allowing untold numbers of terrorists to enter here and take up housekeeping so that they could return to their terrorist ways some time down the road. Not a good strategy.
