Surprise! Phony commits other fraud crimes

| March 27, 2012

Sparky sent us a link to an article in SeaCoast Online about Robert McDowell, who was discharged from the Navy for faking his award of 3 Purple Hearts for service in Vietnam and during the Gulf and pretending to be a doctor so he could get prescription medication. Apparently he used a tenant’s name, the tenant being a Marine deployed to Afghanistan, to write politically-charged letters and to endorse McDowell’s girlfriend to political office;

Police allege McDowell used [Paul Mahoney]’s name and old cell phone number on letters he wrote over a two-year period, urging recipients and readers to close Fire Station 3 and to cut the school, police and fire budgets.

When contacted by police, Mahoney said he “has never given anyone permission to write under his name,” according to a police report.

“I would like to see full charges be punished,” Mahoney is quoted by police.

So, like our buddy Doug Sterner says, Stolen Valor phonies always commit other crimes and they all bear watching.

Granted, it’s the Portsmouth Herald, so the story is light on things like coherent facts, punctuation, and coherent syntax, but seriously, victimless crime?

And there’s lots more of his bullshit where that came from, kids.

Life of Duty

Certainly McDowell is one of the worst. He teaches classes and does nothing but talk about EOD and the SEALS. He says he is a CDR, no that got taken away when he lied in Kuwait. The big problem is, other than us, no one really cares about his lies. And, he and they DO see it as a victimless crime. I hope the Navy wasn’t stupid enough to reinstate his retirement.

Turd.

He did make the list for commander, but he was never promoted because of all the crap he did in Kuwait. I, too, hope the Navy didn’t continue their stupidity by finally letting him have retirement.

OMG. This has gone on for far too long. He’s been saying this shit since at lease 1998, it’s 15 years later and he’s still going strong. Can no one stop him?
