FBI: Bomb in Spokane is domestic terrorism

| January 19, 2011

This will result in a flurry of TV appearances for Mark Potok;

The FBI offered a reward Tuesday for information about a potentially lethal bomb found in a backpack along the downtown route of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade.

The discovery before Monday’s parade for the slain civil rights leader raised the possibility of a racial motive in a region that has been home to the white supremacist Aryan Nations.

“The confluence of the holiday, the march and the device is inescapable,” said Frank Harrill, special agent in charge of the Spokane FBI office. “But we are not at the point where we can draw any particular motive.”

He called the planting of the bomb an act of domestic terrorism that was clearly designed to advance a political or social agenda.

Yeah, they can’t draw a particular motive, but that doesn’t stop the media, apparently.

Do us a favor and DON’T put up any pictures or video of swamp monster, my stomach is a little sensitive today.

Just A Grunt

He called the planting of the bomb an act of domestic terrorism that was clearly designed to advance a political or social agenda.

No idiot, it was a bomb designed to kill and maim. To try an assign a motive in the wake of the recent shooting in Tuscon is a fool’s errand. You see to advance a political or social agenda there has to be some sort of declaration of such a purpose, you know like maybe a note dropped off at a news station or newspaper or maybe a threat phoned in. Have we already forgotten how the Weather Underground and the Baader Meinhof gang operated? Hell Billy Ayers wrote an entire book to explain why he wanted to kill people before he moved on to launching the political ambitions of like minded folks from his close circle of friends.

Well, I have to disagree, J A G, because there is an agenda and that is the placement of said device and when it was placed. The symbolism can’t be ignored. The problem comes in as to where to lay blame. The usual suspects, like swamp monster and fatass Moore, will claim that it was done by rightwing extremists, blah, blah, blah. This will be done without any evidence, just the musings of the intellectually vacant elites. There will be calls to go after all those they label as rightwing extremists and make claims that it proves that they were correct about the right being full of racists, blah, blah, blah. Hell, with the facts out there about the shooter in Tucson not being a rightwing extremist, it hasn’t stopped the leftist/progressive types from continuing to claim he is; right? Fatass Moore was on he-she’s (Maddow) show just the other night claiming that gun owners are racist. He has no facts, just his own twisted thought process, but he still gets airtime to put it out there without anyone questioning his logic, or lack thereof, for his conclusions. Then you have that other pontificator of absurdity, Bloomberg, running his piehole, plus, clueless Schumer wanting to impose martial law on anyone in possession of anything bigger than a can opener.

No, this feeds their agenda and it wouldn’t surprise me if it was done by a leftist on purpose. Kinda like some of the other things done to frame an agenda in the past few years (remember the census worker that took himself deep but made it look like it was done by rightwing extremist hillbillies? As just one quick example).

They can’t draw a motive, but it doesn’t stop the Feeb’s either, Jonn. And, if it was an act of “domestic terrorism”, where’s the claim of credit, as J A G noted? Hell, even the inbred hillbillies would claim credit for it, if they planted it. And, why didn’t it go off?

#4 UpNorth: a bomb doesn’t need to go off to be an effective terror weapon. So long as the device creates dissension, anxiety, and shapes behavior, then it is a good weapon of terror. Not unlike the TV remote when the Cowboys are playing at the same time as the spousal unit’s favorite HGTV show.

While I agree with J A G that until the perpetrators are caught and confess a motive, one may want to also consider mis-direction.

UpNorth

True, and I guess I could have left off the last sentence and still made my point. And, in my case it’s hockey and the spousal unit’s desire to watch anything but hockey. Guess who always gets to go to the basement to watch hockey?
And, mis-direction is a very real possibility, unless the left comes up with a picture of Sarah Palin, or Beck or Limbaugh planting the bomb.
