Police: Holiday party shooter acted in self-defense; victim’s father charged
by Kristen Schneider
LEXINGTON, S.C. (WACH) — The man who shot and killed a 26-year-old Lexington man during a Christmas party acted in self-defense, according to the Lexington Police Department. The department said the Dec. 20 shooting happened after the shooting victim, Wesley Warren-Camp, and his father William Camp attacked the shooter.
According to police, the father and son got into a fight at the party before 11:30 p.m. Officers said the two were separated with Warren-Camp being held back by people outside of the Gantt Street home.
One of the people who separated the two was the shooter, police said.
The department said after the fight, the shooter and his wife decided to leave the party.
Officers said as the shooter and his wife got into their truck, Warren-Camp came to the driver’s side and pulled the shooter onto the ground. Authorities said Warren-Camp started assaulting him.
That’s when officers said William Camp jumped into the fight and started attacking the shooter as well.
The department said the father and son hit the shooter multiple times in the face and kept pulling him to the ground when he tried to escape. At one point, officers said the shooter climbed back into his truck.
The shooter then pulled a handgun and, while being beaten again, shot and killed Warren-Camp, police said.

Judge denies woman’s petition to seize a Colorado officer’s guns under new red flag law
Follow-up to Poetrooper’s post from yesterday
By Tony Keith
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (KKTV) – UPDATE 1/16/19:
On Thursday, a judge shot down a Colorado woman’s petition to seize guns from the Colorado State University Police Officer who was justified in shooting and killing her son.In her petition, Susan Holmes claimed there was a credible risk of unlawful or reckless use of a firearm by Phillip Morris because he threatened and killed her son and had a history of being aggressive. The law only allows family or household members or police to seek the removal of guns from someone deemed a danger. Holmes says she is considering an appeal of Thursday’s ruling.

I hesitate to call a true Trifecta, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, due to Poe’s update. But two pair ain’t all that bad, and there’s always tomorrow.
War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. — John Stuart Mills

If we’re going to have red flag laws, there needs to be screws put into them so they can’t be abused as well as a way to get your guns back. I question how truly benevolent these laws are supposed to be. Especially when your guns are seized without a trial.
Geese, I’m only 23 and can only feel myself becoming more and more cynical as the days go by. I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
One thing it will do is keep you alert to the abuse of power from all areas of the political spectrum.
Just don’t lose your ability to laugh at yourself, and don’t forget to give the benefit of the doubt where you can. Give grace to the other guy.
Ronald Regan exemplified this when he said “The only problem with our liberal friends is that they know so much that isn’t so.”
“…more and more cynical…” Guess what CK? It gets worse. And yes, that’s a good thing. The younger you learn that someone pissing down your back is not rain, the better off you’ll be.
Story 1 & 3 just proves that trash comes in all shapes, sizes, ages, regions, and ethnic backgrounds.
Story 2 proves that the judge made the right call for Philip Morris. (if you made that connection, you are old as dirt) LSMFT
Next you’ll be showing your Lark pack! LSMFT.
Loose straps mean floppy tits?
23? Oh, just you wait for your fifth or sixth decade…..
Cynical, CK? It gets worse as time goes by. You start wondering what in the world is wrong with the idiots who do these things.
My cynical 56 year old self thinks that ALL laws are written by the lobbyists and then sold to the highest bidder (so to speak).
As evidence:
1. All lobbyists are lawers. All the major law firms have a DC office and are active in the DNC, etc.
2. We elect idiots.
3. Somehow, the idiots get rich over time.
4. We end up with bad laws.
2.
Mr. Camp won’t be able to camp with his son anymore. If Ton would have survived the shooting, there would have been a ton of evidence against him.
Too bad that Texas shooting didn’t take place in the AM. Then it would have been morning ‘Wood.
Thank you, I’ll be here all week.
I’m not a cynic. I’m jaded with experience.
