When they went to rob a man at gunpoint, his wife fired her gun. She’s a Charlotte cop.
BY MARK PRICE AND AMANDA ZHOU
Early Friday, multiple suspects approached a couple in the parking lot of an apartment complex in south Charlotte. When they tried to rob the husband at gunpoint, the woman, an off-duty Charlotte-Mecklenburg officer, took out her gun and fired it, police said.According to the police, the other suspects fired back then fled the scene, and a 17-year-old male suspect was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The officer, Emily Bishop, was unharmed.
The State Bureau of Investigation has launched an investigation into the shooting, which took place at 12:15 a.m. in the 7900 block of Waterford Tide Loop. An SBI investigation is standard procedure when a CMPD officer shoots and injures someone.
Information and evidence gathered around the scene indicate that the same suspects committed a burglary and armed robbery of a resident in the apartment complex minutes prior to the shooting, police said.
While the other suspects are still at large, the 17-year-old will be charged with two assaults with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and attempted robbery and robbery with a dangerous weapon, police said. Authorities did not say how many other suspects they are seeking.

A confrontation ensued between the victim and at least one of the thieves, Drake said. The resident was shot in the leg with his own gun, and expected to survive his injuries.

Poor victim selection skills, guy who should be jailed on looks alone, and that ‘not right’ feeling was your own bullet, citizen. *sigh*
The whole of the Bill of Rights is a declaration of the right of the people at large or considered as individuals. It establishes some rights of the individual as unalienable and which consequently, no majority has a right to deprive them of. — Albert Gallatin of the New York Historical Society, October 7, 1789

All kinds of trash, dog butt fugly perps, and dumbasses that don’t know how to shoot bad guys FIRST, then ask who is it?
A trio of Nighthawk Custom 1911s are the music that calms a Savage Beast. I do believe I had an involuntary vascular reaction to the gun pr0n.
Not sure that Canoga Park is a ‘feel good’… more like a Darwin Award try.
Thanks for your input. I use a broad brush for the daily FGS, for several reasons. Misuse of firearms, or any weapon for that matter, is a valid example of how it’s not done. As in don’t be “that guy” and know how to operate your weapon of choice. Secondly, some days there are few articles to choose from, and I post what I find. The weapons don’t need to be firearms, the good guy doesn’t always win, and the players aren’t necessarily human. Call it artistic license.
