Military Veteran tackles armed suspect after threat
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) —The quick action of a military veteran helped police put an Ohio man in custody early Saturday morning after making a threat to the public in Kalamazoo.
According to authorities officers responded to the 2700 block of West Michigan Avenue just after 2 a.m. for a report of a fight with a male who flashed a gun. When officers arrived they found a male suspect being held on the ground by a military veteran.
Witnesses said they saw the man flashing a gun during a fight then heard the man say he was going to “shoot everybody”, according to police.
Officers said as the suspect ran towards the crowd, the military veteran tackled the suspect, holding him until police arrived. Authorities said they found a loaded handgun on the suspect.

Car wash owner fatally shoots relative who attacked him with bat, police say
SAN ANTONIO – A man was fatally shot after he attacked his relative with a baseball bat at his own car wash.
The suspect used the bat when a disturbance escalated Saturday afternoon at the car wash in the 500 block of Division Ave., SAPD Sgt. Oscar O’Connor said.
The car wash owner acted in “self-defense” and shot the suspect, O’Connor said.
Earlier, the suspect called the man over to the car wash, and that’s when an argument ensued.“They had a disturbance and it escalated from there,” O’Connor said, adding that the suspect was described as “acting weird.”

Armed woman shoots escaped inmate who broke into her home
(Free Beacon) A South Carolina woman shot and killed an escaped inmate who broke into her home armed with an improvised weapon early Tuesday morning.
Pickens County sheriff Rick Clark said the woman acted in self-defense after shooting the man outside her bedroom door. The convicted felon got there after he and another inmate overpowered guards at the Pickens County Prison and fled. A short time later 30-year-old Bruce Webb McLaughlin Jr. broke down the back door of the woman’s home and grabbed a metal implement he took from the victim’s kitchen.

ps…got my FIRST shipment of cookies from Sister in Nebraska on Saturday. Gots 1 & 1/2 dozen each of lemon crisp, peanut butter, chewy chocolate chip, snicker doodles with 3 musketeers candy bars, ginger snaps, peppermint melts, and chocolate mint. Also an assortment of pecan caramel candies. There’s an assortment of 1/2 gallon Turkey Hill Ice Creams in the freezerator.
The Army Football team lost Saturday but Team 5th/77th FA ate real good.
With all those snacks, I hope you have a good dentist, and a good trainer/dietitian.
Nitpicking… that is an UltraLight Carry compact, not a Combat Commander. Combat Commaders have the original GI-length grip frame.
