EPD: Teen killed after pulling gun during attempted robbery
Isaiah Seibert
EVANSVILLE, Ind. — An Evansville teen was killed in a late Monday night shooting that happened during an attempted robbery, police said. The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s office confirmed that DeAndre Ellington, 18, died at an Evansville hospital at 10:59 p.m. after he was taken to the emergency department by ambulance. An autopsy is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Coroner Steve Lockyear said.
According to records from Evansville-Vanderburgh Central Dispatch, a call of shots fired came at 10:07 p.m. in the 2200 block of North Fulton Avenue. When police arrived they found Ellington shot on the sidewalk.
In a recording of the 911 call obtained by Courier & Press, a man called dispatchers saying he heard gunshots and went outside. He said someone was shot and wounded but didn’t know who, and he was worried someone would come shoot up his house.
The caller was evading some questions from the dispatcher, who told emergency responders over police radio that the man was being “difficult.”
At one point in a recording of the radio traffic, an officer said there were multiple guns on the scene and that a black man was unconscious.
About two minutes later, police said they had one person in custody and were holding two others at gunpoint.
In a news release, police said Ellington had been shot and was unable to communicate with officers, who learned he had met with several people to sell a handgun. Police said witnesses told them Ellington pointed a handgun at the group and tried to rob them. One of the alleged intended robbery victims was armed with a handgun and fired several times in response to Ellington’s actions, police said.

Update: Tulsa Police Say Fatal Shooting At Apartment Complex Was Self-Defense
TULSA, Oklahoma – Tulsa Police released new details on a fatal shooting last week. Authorities said the man who shot Alfred Guy did so in self-defense after Guy stabbed him.
TPD said Alfred Guy, who was high on PCP, went over to a friend’s apartment to ask for a ride. When the friend said no, police said Guy attacked his friend.
Tulsa Police said Guy stabbed his friend in the back, so the friend pulled out a gun and shot Guy once. Police say Guy died the next day – on Thanksgiving morning – at the hospital.
This all happened last Wednesday night just before 9 at the Town Square Apartments near Apache and Peoria.
Police said the two had known each other for awhile. Officers said because Guy was high on PCP, they believe he was a little more violent than normal, and the shooting appears to be justified.

Three up, three down Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, for a Thursday Trifecta. Range time pays off.

DeAndre…sigh!
Trifecta counts on updates/re-runs? Sure why not, after all, to quote Bones on Star Trek “…he’s dead Jim…” Isn’t that what the demon rats do on election day.
It’s Thursday, what’s for supper Ex-PH2?
Coming up later! You will enjoy it.
Idiot. You don’t stop to consider that if YOU’RE selling a gun, that the other people might already have guns too?
Darwin at work, cleaning the gene pool, one shooting at a time. Hopefully this “genius” didn’t leave any sperm droppings (children) behind before he died.
Its God’s way of culling the herd, he takes the stupid ones.
Sounds like Mr Jherod had no Styles.
Being on PCP is stupid enough, but taking a knife to a gunfight as well?
Is this a new version of “Dumb and Dumber”? Just askin’.
Speaking of feeling good I believe Wilted Willy
is having surgery today. Hope it all turns out good for him.
Yes he is. Send some good thoughts to our own WW today.

I stopped getting online Army,Navy and Marine Corps Times last week. Does anyone out there get the above online services and if you do, are you still getting them. I accidently sent them to spam and then deleted them, so I don’t know if this was the cause and I have to check the spam and move them back into inbox if I get any of the deleted inbox/spam that I read daily. I also stopped getting the Mil. daily brief each morning.
WOW, Styles really went out in non styilish style. After my above comment about not receiving Navy, Army And Marine Corps online news letters along with the daily brief, I had to call Navy Times whom hooked me up with the digital online times who told me to go back to Navy times and hit the news letter box and the list of what I was getting online popped up and I re checked the news letters I wanted. Whew.
Damn, the first Trifecta we have had in a long time and I have to go and miss it! I promise to check the FGS every morning before surgery! I am so glad they are taking our advice regarding more range time, see, it does pay off!!!
