Suspect Shot, Killed During Home Invasion In Lithia

LITHIA, Fla. — Hillsborough County deputies are searching for a suspect after a home invasion in Lithia.

•Deputies said they do not believe this was random

The suspect being sought is one of two that broke into a home Wednesday night in the 100 block of Old Welcome Road. The other suspect was shot and killed by one of the homeowners, authorities said.

According to authorities, deputies responded to a 911 call just after 9 p.m.

When they arrived, they found one suspect dead in a ditch on the side of the road and the other suspect was gone.

The homeowners, a man and a woman, said two men broke into their home, making demands.

Deputies said the man and woman said the suspects attacked the man, pistol whipping him and beating him. That’s when the woman retrieved a gun and fired a shot, hitting one of the suspects, deputies said.

Police: Kansas man shot car burglary suspect

TOPEKA, Kan. – Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting that may be connected to a car burglary.

Just after 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, police were dispatched to Walgreen at 3900 SW 29th in Topeka for report that a subject walked in the store and told the staff he had been shot, according to Lt. Manuel Munoz.

At the scene, officers located a man who was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot
wound. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

While the officers were traveling to the call at Walgreens, dispatch received a call in the 4200
block of 29th Terrace on a report of a burglary to a vehicle. Dispatch advised that the victim saw someone burglarizing his vehicle and the victim went out to confront the suspect. The victim
fired one shot towards the burglary suspect.

Man Shot, Killed by Security Guard at VTA Light Rail Station

A man armed with a knife was shot and killed by a contracted security guard at the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority’s Santa Teresa Light Rail Station in San Jose on Wednesday night, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office. Kris Sanchez reports.
