The Sheriff may be recalled by residents of a NY sanctuary country:

Humboldt County Sheriff Mike Allen’s decision to enforce new red flag laws — which allow for temporary confiscation of guns for people a judge deems “at risk” — has spurred a campaign to have him recalled.

Dawn Principe, owner of Sage Hill Arms gun store in Winnemucca and member of the 1,600-member Facebook group behind the recall campaign, said members plan to file a notice of intent with the county on Thursday to recall the sheriff on the grounds he is not “standing up” for their rights. According to the county clerk, the group will have 90 days from when it files to collect 502 signatures and, if successful, proceed with a recall committee.

Illinois concealed carry reciprocity law heads to Supreme Court

https://www.guns.com/news/2019/10/23/illinois-concealed-carry-reciprocity-case-heads-to-supreme-court

A challenge to how Illinois treats other states’ carry permits has now been sent to the U.S. Supreme Court for appeal.

The case, brought by a group of nine individuals allied with three pro-gun groups, takes issue with the fact that the Land of Lincoln refuses to issue non-resident concealed carry permits or recognize permits issued from 45 other states, regardless of an individual’s background or prior training.

While over 20 states have full reciprocity, honoring all valid concealed carry permits, others have more limited recognition typically based on minimum training requirements in the individual’s issuing state. A smaller number of jurisdictions, such as Illinois, largely refuse to honor carry permits or licenses from other states.

Gonna be a new Sheriff in town soon for NV. Is this one deja vu all over again?

I no longer drive thru Illinois on my trips out West because of their restrictive gunz lawz. Wonder how many other law abiding citizens feelz the same way?

Hope the waitress makes a full recovery and learns how to duck quicker. Good on the owner, but get a little more range time in. Good help is hard to find. Gun control is hitting your target, not hitting the help.

Gonna be expanding the perimeter a bit over the weekend. Gots to help try and slow down ‘Cumps boyz on their stroll to the sea. Google foo Occupation of Sandersville. Waiting on the FIRST Sergeant to gather up my escort staff. Should be here by dinner time. (That’s the noon hour for you non Southerners, supper is the evening meal) Y’all have a good weekend.

Glad someone is finally fighting Illinois on their exclusion of everyone else visiting their state. Especially since it is so violent there!
It is bad enough you have to take their 16 hour course, but only allowing states that are substantially similar makes it very difficult to meet a standard that is not set. If you won’t honor any other states “CCL”, than you need to have some other means of “not infringing”. At least they allow “CCL” holders from other states (not recognized) to keep their weapon in their car…while they pass through.
Definitely time for the federal government to establish a standard, that allows for US wide carry.

You mean like the 2nd Ammendment? (Snrky grin)

Sorry, I couldn’t resist!

G’morning, Ex-PH2.

I sent some FGSs to the admin email. Did they come through?

Ex-PH2, a suggestion.

When there are some “successful self-defense stories”, publish those as “Feel Good Stories”. When you have other gun / 2nd Amendment items, publish those as “Gun News”, or “News for Gun Nuts” (fat squirrel pic)

That might avoid some of the “Feel good about what?” that sometimes comes up in the “other” gun-related threads.
