Terre Haute cab driver shoots 17-year-old accused in armed robbery attempt, does not currently face charges

Posted By: Chris Essex
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – An attempted robbery turned into a shooting at a Terre Haute apartment complex on Monday.

A cab driver picked up 17-year-old Daivionne Young near Larry Bird Avenue in the downtown Terre Haute area.

The shooting happened near 19th Street in the Greenwood Manor Apartment complex.

According to the Terre Haute Police Department, a cab driver from First Choice Cab picked up Young in downtown Terre Haute and drove him to Greenwood Manor to drop him off.

That is when Young allegedly pulled a gun on the driver and tried to rob him.

Police say the cab driver pulled out a gun and shot Young.

“The cab driver pulled out a gun and shot the suspect. Suspect took off. He was located by our uniform division, is in custody, he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital,” Terre Haute Police Public Information Officer Ryan Adamson said.

Anderson County coroner identifies man fatally shot by Williamston homeowner

Nikie Mayo
Investigators are still trying to piece together what happened in the moments before a construction worker was shot by a Williamston homeowner late Sunday night.

Late Monday afternoon, Anderson County Deputy Coroner Don McCown identified the man killed as Efren N. Ramirez, 39, of Honduras. McCown said Ramirez had been living in Upstate South Carolina for a while doing construction work. McCown said Ramirez lived across the street from the home where he was shot, and that he appeared to have been heavily intoxicated when he died. It’s not yet clear how, or if, that played a role in what happened.

Sgt. J.T. Foster of the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said Monday morning that preliminary information indicates that Ramirez was shot as he attempted to break into a home on Boiter Road. Investigators have not disclosed the name of the homeowner who shot him. No charges had been filed in the case as of Monday.

Woman says she shot and killed ex-boyfriend who was choking her in northeast Harris County
Police said the man died at the scene.

HUMBLE, Texas — A man is dead after being shot at a home in Humble, police confirm.

This happened Sunday in the 5400 block of Palamino Court around 4:55 a.m.

There was a party at the home, where Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators say the man was invited. The man and woman are a former couple, Sgt. Eric Clegg said.

At some point, there was an altercation between the two of them.

She told police the man was choking her before she was able to get her handgun and shoot him.

Police said the man died at the scene.

The woman was not arrested. Investigators will gather more information and present it to the district attorney’s office to determine whether to pursue charges.

“There were several individuals inside the house and right now we’re in the process of just getting statements from everybody,” Sgt. Clegg said. “It appears to be just a disturbance that went wrong.”

A two-one-zero sort of day, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, but the Dog Days of Summer are still ahead, and the weirds and meltdowns come out at night. Be careful out there.

“If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.”

Toxic Deplorable B Woodman

Calling Claw! Hope you’ve done proper PMCS on the Whiz Wheel. Looking for a spin on Daivionne Young.

Claw

Back on the May 21, 2019 FGS when this first appeared, the Whiz Wheel®™ spun up a score of 44 on Daivionne Young. However, when this Urban Entrepreneur was later charged with Level 3 Felony Robbery, his full name was revealed as Daivionne Keith Malcomb Young, which spins up a DAM/WOT score of 49 x 4 = 196.

Toxic Deplorable B Woodman

Impressive. For such a low life no-timer.
Too bad the taxi driver didn’t apply The One More Taxpayers Saving Shot.

Toxic Deplorable B Woodman

Be it ever so Humble, there’s no place like home.
With an attitude like his, no wonder they are (were?) a former couple.

Daivionne…sigh. He was a good boy, turning his life around, wanting to join the choir and start junior college. Well, at least now, he has met Jesus.

We know alcohol was involved in story # 2, wanna bet it was involved in story # 3 also?

Eden

Well, let’s hope he’s met Jesus, but he’s still among the living, according to the news articles.

I’m sure when the cab driver pulled his own weapon out, D’s life flashed before his eyes, he prolly had an epiphany/spirit show him the errors of his ways and gave him a life lesson and another chance. Personally, I’m making book that he will show up here again. Any takers?

Sorry, Engineers don’t take suckers’ bets. We leave that shit to Redlegs.🤣

“constitutional privilege”

say what?

Sarc Alert:

I’m thinking more and more that AW1Ed posted the Daivionne story to see if we were paying attention./s

BLUF, you’ll have to do better than that, Ed. That story was only seven weeks old. Although, on the surface, it may appear that the authorized Whiz Wheel®™ Operators are just Shammers and In-General F-Tards, there is a lot of diligent, behind the scenes work that goes into maintaining the KAL-55B Activities Duty Log.

So, where’s our ARCOMS?/smile

It appears that the homeowner in Williamston, SC, may have saved ICE a bit of money.

I thought that stick figure people that robbed cabs were only a myth. He’s on the sidewalk DOA in the above picture.
