Fort Bragg soldier accused of firing shots into home, near innocent bystanders

By WMBF News Staff
SCOTLAND COUNTY, NC (WMBF) – A Fort Bragg soldier is accused of showing up to a home with a shotgun and his military-issued ballistic gear and firing into a home.

Scotland County sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting call around 3 a.m. Sunday to a home on Old Wire Road in Laurel Hill.

Authorities said Eric Jerrod Davis, 24, arrived at the home in his personal vehicle, armed with a shotgun and wearing military-issued gear, which included a ballistic vest, and opened fire on a victim. Deputies said several other innocent bystanders were also there at the time, and one of those bystanders fired back at Davis.

Davis was shot but he allegedly left the scene in his vehicle and was involved in a single-vehicle collision, according to a post by the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Unit.

Man cuts off driver, attempts to apologize before being fatally shot in Davie

Alex Browning | Jeff Lennox
DAVIE, FLA. (WSVN) – Police have released new details surrounding a shootout in Davie on Friday that left two men dead.

Davie Police responded to the intersection of Flamingo Road and Southwest Eighth Street just before 2 p.m. and located a deceased man inside of a work truck.

Authorities identified the victim on Wednesday as 41-year-old retired U.S. Marine Keith Byrne.

A dark-colored BMW M5 sedan was the second car involved in the shooting. The passenger inside of the car, later identified as 22-year-old Andre Sinclair, suffered at least two gunshot wounds and was found lying in the street.

Fire rescue crews transported him to Broward Health Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police said Byrne had accidentally cut off the BMW before both cars approached a red light.

Byrne attempted to apologize to Sinclair’s girlfriend, who was behind the wheel on the BMW, when Sinclair brandished a gun, according to police.

If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen. — Samuel Adams

Smooth move Andre. Your entitlement attitude got your fool self and another person killed. And possibly another baby for the taxpayers to support.

Mobile trying hard to catch up to Baltimore, Chicongo, Memphis et al. Older brother is outside of Mobile. Says there is a lot of sketchy stuff going on and most of it doesn’t even make the news.

Davis musta figured someone might shoot back, else he wouldn’t have worn the vest. How did that work out for you, Dippy?

Anybody else notice that most Cowboys preferred the ARMY Revolver over the NAVY Colt?

David

Very simple… cap and ball Army guns were .44 caliber, Navy guns were .36 caliber. Some, like a fella named Hickock, felt the .36 ‘shot harder’ but like now, most folks think more power is better. (In modern terms, the .44 had a .45 barrel and the .36 was a .38/.357 bore.) Think of it as the 9mm/.45 debate of the time.

The Stranger

Don’t matter which caliber you use, as long as it starts with a “4”!😂

11B-Mailclerk

Actually, the .36 Colt model 1851 had a bore of .375. It is the modern .38 Special that is .357.

So the .36 is really a .38 and the .38 is really a .36.

The .38 Winchester Center Fire (.38 WCF) also known as the .38-40, is actually a true .40, and is essentially the 10mm.

Hey King of Battle! Did you forget what today is?
Yep, it is the Army’s 244th Birthday!

Re: The picture – Horseshoe Pr0n,please don’t show them anymore. Thank You/s

There must be at least 16 different sizes/types/purposes to pre-forged horseshoes, and I can’t even begin to tell you just how broke-dick the back of a 60 year old feels after spending the day humping out 18-20 tons of 50 pound boxes while working as a purchase order processor at a farm&ranch store distribution center.

So, Yeah, BTDT.

Claw

Post Script: Was so glad to be working in the distribution center and not a shelf stocker in the retail store, especially when little miss blondie wanna-be cowgirl asks if horseshoes come in designer colors./smile

Claw;
Was that Cowgirl wanna-be trying to “Horse ” around with you? If that was me working, I would have sung/yodeled her Patsy Montana’s I want to be a Cow-Girls Sweet Heart. Patsy sang it using the song as a Cow-Boys Sweet Heart.

David

The company who makes the big truck bumpers, Ranch Hand, started in life making barbed wire – if you are ever in Shiner, Tx their lobby walls are covered with hundreds of samples of various barb wires they have manufactured. Cool show of a little slice of history. (Think they are also the largest manufacturer of those wire newspaper racks. They are conveniently close to the country’s oldest continuously operating brewery, Spoetzl, the folks who make Shiner beers.

The Stranger

If I’m ever in Shiner, I’m going to look in on the place that makes their OTHER famous product!

“… barb wire…”

“…slice of history…”

That’s good, Sir.

I have a hard time with the last story. Maybe I have a soft spot for people who meet their end when they’re trying to do the right thing, I don’t know. What a fucking waste.

The kid in the backseat of the BMW was probably going to grow up without his father around anyway, but the asshole didn’t need to take someone down with him while playing gangster.
