Ozarks in Missouri… Because someone, other than the one featured below, pulled the “insult flyover country people” card. (Bluegreen Vacations dot com)

Don’t know if this individual had too much to drink, or if he simply wanted to be a troll. Occasionally, he’ll say something worth approving and responding to. One time; however, he appeared to shift gears.

If he’s wondering when his posts would be approved, he could wonder no more. I dug these out of the trash in order to give him something he wasn’t expecting.

Careful, most of the users here are anti-war hippy faggots, most of whom never even deployed. I personally hope we fucking decimate that country, and since I’m still in the Reserves, I hope I’m the first to go.

If you’ve read the posting trends here, over the past few years, you wouldn’t have reached this conclusion. The general consensus here is that if you deploy the troops, be willing to give them the resources and leeway needed, within the applicable laws and regulation, to win. However, if the troops are provided with unrealistic Rules of Engagement, and you’re not serious about winning, then there’s no point in sending the troops.

Also, a healthy percentage of the veterans that post here have deployed, whether that was in an administrative, operational, expeditionary, or combat capacity. You could gather that by some of the stories they tell about their deployments. This leads me to doubt your claims, but let’s give you the benefit of the doubt and say that you are indeed in the reserve.

Judging by your actions here, if you were in the Army Reserve, there would be an excellent chance that you’ve experienced extra physical fitness. Additionally, there is an excellent chance that you’d be the “go to” guy for crap jobs that come up that nobody else wants.

By extension, if they’re looking for volunteers to go on such deployment, your name would probably get consistently pushed down the list… Or even rejected. You come across as a type that would end up in the “combat stress” medical facility for noncombat-related stress. Heck, you would probably find a way to fake having an issue just to be redeployed to the U.S.

I’m a Trump supporter, but even I gotta laugh at you using the ACLJ (an organization founded and run by the President’s own attorney) as a news source.

Yet, nothing in your reply amounting to anything resembling an argument against what was in the link. Simply attack the messenger instead of the message… Because you cannot mount an effective argument against said message.

Understand that whenever somebody insinuates that the message is “baloney” because of its source, and that someone doesn’t mount an argument justifying such assumption, we automatically interpret that as the speaker not knowing what they are talking about. It’s simply a lazy way to engage an argument where they’re losing.

Most of you guys aren’t real conservatives anyway. You’re pro-weed, anti-war, you want government provided healthcare, etc. You guys are really just a bunch of Libertarians cosplaying as Republicans. Most of you probably voted Ron Paul before. Trump had ZERO support here before the 2016 election; the few actual Republicans here were begrudgingly supporting Ted Cruz.

Having dismantled your arguments before, on more than one occasion, I’d say that you are in no position to determine whether or not we are conservatives. Although some here may be open to legalizing weed, not everybody here is. You misinterpret the “antiwar” arguments made here and are extrapolating the opinions of a few to apply to the entire community here.

Many libertarians vote Republican. There are many aspects where a libertarian is more conservative than a Republican. You essentially countered your own argument, regarding our conservativism, by insisting that we may be libertarians.

On your assumptions on who we supported, then voted for, in 2016. Having read This Aint Hell comments for years, I haven’t found sufficient evidence to prove your argument that “most voted for Ron Paul”.

Likewise, before the 2016 election we had multiple options on the Republican side. When it became evident that President Trump was going to win the nomination, and when it became evident that Hillary Clinton was going to win the nomination on the other side, it didn’t take a genius to figure out which side the commentators on this website would take.

Amazing, utterly amazing.

I’m guessing he lives somewhere that weed is legal.

SSG Kane

Nit exactly sure what country he’s talking about in the first quite there, but as an Army Reservist, who’s been deployed, I agree with the “I personally hope we fucking decimate that country, and since I’m still in the Reserves, I hope I’m the first to go” part.

I miss being deployed. I even miss being in combat. It’s a hell of a drug, as the saying goes. And it’s precisely because I feel this way I’ve turned down every opportunity that would put me anywhere near the levers of power that could actually get us into another war.

I have too much love and respect for my brothers and sisters who will go, but don’t want to go.

Retired Grunt

I’m retired, I do miss the army sometimes, the camaraderie, the sense of belonging. ummmm….. I do miss the training, the wargames, miles gear etc…. I do not miss combat. I think I can honestly make that assessment. Heck, how do my posts get approved, lol.

Eden

For anyone under 70yo, the State Defense Forces (21 states have them) can fill the gap pretty nicely.

Poetrooper

No support for Trump at TAH???

This dipshit needs to go back and read all those pieces I wrote in 2016 on Trump’s behalf. True, my slant was more anti-Hillary than pro-Trump, but it was still an effort to get him elected.

Plus, there were plenty of comments in support of what I wrote.

Commissary

I remember them Poe. And you definitely fooled me. Based on those blog posts I pegged you squarely as pro-Trump first, anti-Hillary second.

GDContractor

I was wondering what happened to C-Schlong. That guy was a total dipshit.

HMCS(FMF) ret

I remember him… a real Mr. SAT type.

The Stranger

I’m just glad he ain’t around. That dude was special.

HMCS(FMF) ret

“Short-bus special”…

The Stranger

Exactly.

Just happened to catch all of the above in the wee hours of that morning. I chalked it up to a late night drinking binge but then remembered similiar comments from the same individual in the not too distant past. Admonished to do better, it was no big deal and a few reasonable comments followed.
The recent stuff is telling of some underlying issue. Hope the person can sort it out.

C2Show

Anybody gonna say who it is? Highly doubt someone is going to call themselves out.

AW1Ed

I had hoped to delete his comments before they gained much traction. I see at least one spotted them, so I wasn’t quite quick enough.

The intent here is not to “out” the individual, he knows who he is, but as a warning- his comment on one of Hondo’s posts was changed to, “This comment has been deleted due to unacceptable content. AW1Ed.” or words to that effect.

The rest of his comments disappeared, and now thebesig is rubbing his nose in it.

I hope all this is sufficient to be a warning to the commenter- we welcome opinions, but be prepared to defend your point, and blatant attacks will not be tolerated.

This is entirely too much time and effort to spend on someone shooting off some nasty comments, both personal and blanket attacks, here. Just knock it off, because they will disappear very quickly- at least.

Too much drinking or smoking of weed? I think not.

I always figured this fool was smoking peyote and drinking mushroom tea. And he needs to stay away from those paper based tablets.

Commissar

This guy is completely unfit to serve in any capacity in any branch of service.

I suspect his chain of command is aware of this.

Though gears grind slowly in the reserves because a pattern of incidents justifying administrative discharge can take a few years to document.

When deployment time comes they use the active duty time to get rid of these psychologically unfit dirtbags. Usually, but not always, before they impact the mission.

Commissar

Do people under the age of 40 even use the phrase “hippy faggot”?

This seems to be a 70s/early 80s era anachronism.

I am not sure what to make of his implied service. He implies he deployed. He uses the phrase “still in the reserves” implying he has been in for a while.

But his comments and the framing of what he says seem completely out of touch with the psychology of the 21st century US military, or anyone who has dealt with the actual wartime consequences of “decimating” something.

I would have pegged him as a 80s era paper army guardsmen. That time when the guard was almost entirely a good ol’ boys weekend drinking and shooting club and the units completely lacked the readiness necessary to deploy.

RGR 4-78

IIRC it was 1973, one of my cousins was with his family for a visit while he was home on leave from the Navy. It was the first time I heard the phrase “hippy dope freak faggot”.

Hondo

George Carlin was using the similar phrase “Commie-fag-junkie” in one of his routines back in the mid/late 1960s. But that’s not exactly the same.

Martinjmpr

As someone who served in the Guard in the 1980’s I have to say your characterization of them is depressingly accurate.

War story time: 1986, I was a Sp/4 (as we called it back then) deployed to the Rapid City, SD area for Annual Training. I was temporarily detailed to Camp Rapid which was in the middle of Rapid City (it’s no longer there, not sure when they closed it.) After 5 days they mercifully decided to rotate me back to the platoon (which was camped in the nearby Black Hills.)

An E-6 Squad leader (not mine) cane to pick me up in a jeep (M151) that had a top but no sides or doors. I threw my duffle bag in the back and jumped in. He started the jeep and said “wait, I need to make one stop.”

Pulled into a liquor store parking lot, went inside, came back with a case of budweiser. Set the case on the floor of the jeep, took one out, opened it up, and said “OK, now we’re ready to go.” We drove to our platoon camp, in a military vehicle, in uniform of course, sipping a beer as we drove.

But I haven’t told you the best part: The Jeep had a red light and siren because we were a military police company.

Not. Even. Joking.

Martinjmpr

Wait, now let me tell you the second best part: 14 years later (in 2000) while attending Phase 1 of ANCOC, I saw that Staff Sergeant again.

Only this time he was a captain, and on the cadre of the National Guard OCS.
