1 Dead, 3 Injured in Synagogue Shooting in Poway, Deputies Detain Suspect
One woman died and three others were injured when shots were fired inside Chabad of Poway on the last day of Passover

By Andrew Johnson and R. Stickney
A woman has died and a rabbi was injured after shots were fired inside a Poway, California synagogue filled with people celebrating the last day of Passover. A suspect was taken into custody approximately two miles away from the synagogue while three patients were rushed to a nearby hospital.

The victim was identified Sunday as 60-year-old Lori Gilbert-Kaye.

A man with a rifle entered Chabad of Poway on Rancho Bernardo Road, west of Interstate 15 at 11:23 a.m. and opened fire on the people inside, law enforcement officials said.

“We didn’t hear him screaming or saying anything. He was just focused to kill. You saw the hate and the murder in his eyes,” Danny Almong, a witness, told NBC 7. “He had a vest and he had clips in the vest. He was ready. He was ready. He came in to kill.”

The suspect was identified as John T. Earnest, 19, a graduate of Mount Miguel High School and student at Cal State San Marcos. Earnest does not have a criminal history and has no apparent connection with white supremacist groups, according to San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore. Read more about Earnest here.

As the suspect fled the scene, an off-duty U.S. Border Patrol agent who was in the synagogue at the time of the shooting opened fire on the suspect, missing the man but striking his vehicle, Gore said.

Update: Gas station robbery suspect charged; no charges against clerk who shot him

By Norb Franz
Prosecutors have filed robbery and weapons charges against a convicted felon from Clinton Township who was shot by a clerk of a Mount Clemens gas station this week.

The 27-year-old suspect is named in a warrant charging him with three counts each of armed robbery and possession of a firearm while committing a felony, for the incident late Wednesday afternoon at the Mobil gas station on South Main Street, police said Friday. The suspect, whose name was not divulged by police pending his arraignment, also faces single counts of receiving and concealing a firearm, and being in possession of a gun as a convicted felon.

Macomb County Sheriff’s officials said the clerk shot the suspect six times during the incident at approximately 5:10 p.m. After reviewing police reports, the Macomb County Prosecutors Office decided to not file criminal charges against the gas station employee. The worker has thus far been identified only as a 25-year-old man from Detroit.

Man Killed in Shooting at South L.A. Car Wash
Off-Duty Police Officer Shoots at Suspect

by Brian Day
A man died in a shooting at a South Los Angeles car wash Friday, just before an off-duty Los Angeles police sergeant shot at the fleeing suspect, who escaped, officials said.

The gunfire took place just after 11 a.m. in the 10100 block of Vermont Avenue, near 102nd Street, Deputy Marvin Crowder of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau said in a written statement.

A man at the business opened fire on another man, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Jeff Lee said.

An off-duty sergeant assigned to the LAPD’s Employee Assistance Unit happened to be in the area and heard the gunfire, Lee said.

“As the suspect attempted to leave the scene, an off duty LAPD officer attempted to detain the suspect, at which time an officer involved shooting occurred between the off-duty LAPD officer and the suspect,” Crowder said.

The suspect got away, officials said. The sergeant was not hurt, and it was not clear whether the suspect was struck by the gunfire.

Not a stellar start to the work-week, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. Zero bad guy morts, one incarcerated and another bad one in the wind. Hope for better times, but get to the range and practice.

The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it is impossible for men to live without breaking laws.

Police in St. Mary’s County Arrest Four on Multiple Charges in Great Mills

On Friday, April 26, 2019, at approximately 3:05 p.m., Troopers from the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and Deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 45000 block of Military Lane, Great Mills, for a reported burglary in progress.

A witness observed the suspects enter a residence and the homeowner confirmed no one had permission to be inside. Upon police arrival, there was evidence of a burglary and it was believed the suspects were still inside. After numerous requests for the suspects to exit the residence, one of the suspects complied and exited.

The suspect was arrested and identified as Divante Quintil Kyler, 27, of California. Kyler was found to have two open Bench Warrants through the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office (Child Support Non-compliance and Failure to Appear-Driving While Suspended). Kyler was not cooperative with police on the scene and wouldn’t provide information about additional suspects.

A search of the victim’s residence was completed utilizing the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Team and K-9. The search did not reveal any additional suspects: however, there was evidence an additional suspect had been present in the residence. Police on scene located a hole in the drywall that connected to an adjoining townhome. Troopers and Deputies maintained a perimeter on the area and contact was made with the occupants of the adjoining townhome. During their contact with the occupants of the adjoining townhome, a strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from the townhome. The occupants of the townhome were not cooperative police.

“…had a vest and he had clips in the vest.” Paper clips? Money clips? hair clip? A clip joint? Another commiefornia rifle walking down the street into a church to kill folks. Take some of these attention whores that force the innocent rifle to murder people, have a very public hanging and maybe it will slow it down some. Another reason I carry where ever I go.

Clinton Township; What in the wide world of sports is a convicted felon doing possessing a firearm? Doesn’t he know that’s against the law?

LA; Good guy with a gunz saves the day, but could use some range time himself.

St Mary’s; Divante Quintil…sigh…Claw?

Score 1/1/1 still a trifecta. Back to working on the cistern FIRST thing this morning.

Tallywhagger

Gotta wonder what blue eyed Timmy-with-a-man-bun was doing in such esteemed company.

Claw may be able to spin up a few points from some of those improbable soul brutha names.

Claw

Okay, the TAH Name Scrabble (Home Version)®™ Whiz Wheel has been deadlined due to a spun axis bearing, but despite the multitude of little red squiggles, has worked up the basic scores on this squad of Darwin Award candidates. Those scores are:

Divante Quintil Kyler – 39
Timothy Patrick Hogan – 39
Jalonte Dalquan Ford – 39
Jajuan Dalshawn Ford – 43

Almost a Quad-Fecta on the same basic score, so use of multipliers 2-11 are up to the reader./smile

The Whiz Wheel will now retreat to a corner and lick its wounds.

Three of they mamas ought to be charged for stupid.

Divante Quintil? Let me guess … Nah, too easy. ‘He was a good boy who loved his momma and never did nutin wrong. The police done profiled him.’

HMC Ret,

Hope you are doing okay.

Nothing like the Wheel of Claw to bring a smile.
