Chiropractor Charged in Quadruple Homicide is Ex-Navy

| April 5, 2019

FoxNews featured a headline of “Chiropractor who served in the Navy faces charges in North Dakota quadruple homicide” although we are not sure of the connection they are making with his past Navy career and the alleged crimes.

The person police believe walked into a real estate office and killed four people — shocking residents of a small town unaccustomed to such gruesome violence — is reportedly a chiropractor who served in the U.S. Navy.

Chad Isaak, 44, of Washburn, N.D. was arrested Thursday, three days after the killings at RJR Management, a business that collects rents for property owners, including the suspect’s landlord.

Isaak was due to appear before a judge Friday.

In any case, they were correct about his service in the Navy…

A 1995 marriage announcement said Isaak was an assistant lab technician in the U.S. Navy serving at Pearl Harbor.

It will be interesting to follow this and find out why he snapped if it turns out that he is the one that did the murders.

UPDATE:  The FOIA result for Isaac’s military records have come in.  It’s a bit of a surprise.

So it appears that the article was not correct – Isaac was not a chiropractor in the Navy.  From what I understand, they are officers and Isaac was enlisted.  He most likely went to chiropractic school after the Navy.  He got out as a Hospital Corpsman – HM3 (E-4).

He was stationed in Pearl Harbor, so they got that right.

He also stayed in the Navy Reserve until 1999.  Oddly, he got out as an HA (E-2), so there may be some mystery as to the drop in rank.  If he was in school with a demanding curriculum that is incompatible with the Reserves, they usually give you an admin discharge – or there are other options to get out.  Reduction in rank is rare unless out for a time and reenter.

An alternate explanation is that the assignment sheet was started when he was an HA and they did not update the rank.

Yeah, that fits- Navy medical background going chiropractor after mustering out. Unless things have changed, there are no Navy chiropractors. How he wound up in North Dakota is anybody’s guess.

Thunderstixx

Danny Aiello obviously didn’t push hard enough to get chiropractors anywhere except the LA LA Land.

I think went back home. His MEPS station from what I can tell was Fargo, ND. Same place I was processed into the USN before going on to Great Lakes in ’85.

Some interesting information on him, to include his occupation as well as pictures and info on the victims:

Thank You, Steve, for providing his Navy Military records.

I suspect the incident may have something to do with him living in a trailer park. Perhaps he owed rent…or might gave been asked to vacate the property.

IIRC the services did not employ chiropractors in that era. It was not until sometime after 2000 that they started bringing them in.

Believe AnotherPat nailed it, overdue rent, collection efforts.
It is obligatory in the drive by media to draw any nexus between a crazed murderer and any prior military service, even if it was I the Revolutionary War.

“A doctor who worked at Madigan Army Medical Center and a women’s health clinic in Tacoma is incarcerated and has had his medical license suspended after being found guilty by a military court of having sex with an underage girl.”

The heading is in error. He wasn’t a Navy chiropractor. He is a chiropractor who was in the Navy.

Comm Center Rat

I’m sure Thor, Bubba, and Tiny will frequently avail themselves of this chiropractor’s manual dexterity and teach him new and exciting occupational skills in the Graybar Hotel. Bubba & Co. are hands-on fellas who enjoy the healing, stimulating, and relieving gift of human touch in confined spaces.

Grunt

I sense he’ll soon become an SME in the art of Deep Tissue Massage.

My Uncle studied medicine [in Egypt] – He was a Cairo Practor.

I know a guy that did porn movies to put himself through medical school.

He’s a doctor now but the problem is when he gives someone a shot – he pulls it out at the last minute and squirts it all over them.

My above comment should have read that my Uncle studied medicine in Egypt-He was a Cairo Practor. Belay the above one I typed out.
