Man arrested after leading police on wild chase through 3 counties

By: Roberto Acosta
A 31-year-old Brown City man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after police say he led them on a pursuit through three mid-Michigan counties.

A fugitive was spotted in a vehicle around 3:40 p.m. March 5 near Brown City. Deputies with the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office came to the assistance of Brown City police to apprehend the suspect.

The man pulled a knife out and held it to his own throat from inside the vehicle, police said.

Deputies were able to remove a female driver and a male passenger from the vehicle.

But when they attempted to get the man to put the knife down, he began to swing it at deputies, police said. Attempts to use a Taser on him were “ineffective,” according to a statement from the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.

He then fled in the vehicle, which belonged to the woman.

The man then fled on foot and entered a Frankenmuth Road home where he tried to steal a car, but was confronted by the homeowner with a gun.

“online selling app called “Let Go”
Let go…No. I said let go! Blam.

“Let Go”……the new Craig’s List?

Docduracoat

I have sold a bunch of stuff on let go, like the gymnastics bar and ice skates.
It also has a feature to give stuff away, like the car seat and music stand I could not sell.
Better to give them to someone than just throw it in the trash.
I usually meet in the boat ramp next door and my son covers me as he stands nearby acting like a member of the public.
Never had a problem.
Maybe we should meet at the police station public parking lot instead!

Brown City; When you hear of a perp holding a knife to his own throat, you just gotta think about the scene in Blazing Saddles. ANd y’all know which one I’m talking about. “…use of Taser “ineffective”.”….confronted by a homeowner with a gun. Bet 3 rounds center mass would have been effective.

Houston; Shame you got to be packing heat to do trade and commerce there…..and everywhere. Hearing more and more about buyers and sellers trying to rip one or the other off. Meet at the popo station.

Jackson; “I told you to go away, stay away, and leave my Mama alone.” Bam….problem solved! Good for the kid.

Payoff getting better as the week progresses. Tie this into the fat payoff from the Juicy Jussie bets and we’ll make payroll and taxes.

Re the Houston story…the Greenspoint area is commonly known as Gunspoint. Lot of people avoid that area even in the daytime. It would be more newsworthy were there no violent incident there.

Outcast

Need to do some research on son shooting 34 year old, sounds like one earlier in feel good story where perpetrator was sent to hospital by woman’s son. Would be good Paul Harvey’s ” And now you know the rest of the story” if it is the final outcome of that story and also changes odds on that day.

Outcast

2/1/0, not to bad odds. 3 county chase (stolen Vehicle?), held knife to throat, tasered, confronted by homeowner with gun while trying to steal car and eventually captured, makes one wonder if at any time during this scenario D/A realized he was having a bad day. Let go, guess fella found out the hard way that the Vic was not going to Let Go of his cash as easily as he thought. As to 34yo demise see above reply to 5th. Swamp level lowered by 2.

Hmmm, child had access to firearm? Imagine if this had happened in Connecticut.

“The man pulled a knife out and held it to his own throat from inside the vehicle, police said.”

That’s resourceful, but if he’d gone full potato, the story might have ended right there.

Sister Mary Grace notes the ‘pulled a knife out’ phrase and wants to know where the knife was hidden. In the ash tray? Glove box? His Underoos? Incomplete info leads to 3 raps with Sister Mary Grace’s No. 15 yellow pencil, and she’s going out for a cold one at The Local Whiskey Emporium. (Why does no one ever name a bar or tavern something like that?)

“The man pulled a knife out and held it to his own throat from inside the vehicle, police said.”

Reminds me of that classic scene from “Blazing Saddles.”

One of the best movies ever!!
