Funerals for PFC Clifford M. Mills (World War II) and MSG Charlie J. Mares (Korea)

| March 25, 2019

In February, DPAA announced that it had accounted for PFC Clifford M. Mills, US Army. PFC Mills was lost in Germany on 18 September 1944.

PFC Mills will be buried later this week – on Saturday, 30 March 2019 – in Troy, Indiana. Regrettably, DPAA does not seem to have posted the specific location for his funeral or interment.

If any TAH readers have the precise location for either PFC Mills’ funeral or interment, please post it in comments below. And if any readers are in that area and have the time, here’s an opportunity to give someone lost during World War II a proper final send-off.

Also in February, DPAA announced that it had accounted for MSG Charlie J. Mares, US Army. MSG Mares was lost in South Korea on 31 July 1951.

MSG Mares will be buried later this week – on Friday, 29 March 2019 – in Cistern, Texas. Regrettably, DPAA does not seem to have posted the specific location for his funeral or interment.

If any TAH readers have the precise location for either MSG Mares’ funeral or interment, please post it in comments below. And if any readers are in that area and have the time, here’s an opportunity to give someone lost during the Korean War a proper final send-off.
