Columbus jury reaches verdict in birthday party shootout trial involving half-brothers
By Tim Chitwood
A Columbus jury found Roger Thomas not guilty of murder Monday in the 2015 fatal shooting of his half-brother during a birthday party at Thomas’ 435 Bernard Drive apartment.Thomas also was acquitted of all other charges, including aggravated assault and using a firearm to commit a felony.
Defense attorney Stacey Jackson said he felt the verdict validated a “textbook case for self defense,” and his client’s testimony was paramount.
“The crux of the whole case was really him and whether or not the jury believed … by the evidence, which would include his testimony, that he was really in fear of receiving a serious bodily injury, or potentially death, when he fired that fatal shot,” Jackson said.
“I believe that the reason he did testify so clearly and so well that it was just coming from the heart,” he added.

If you’re going to go big…, I guess.
Thanks RD. This will go up on tomorrow’s FGS.

He be dead, Jim.
There you go, spoiling the surprise for the rest of the class.
As the first story relates, birthday pre-parties can be dangerous. That is why I never go to them.
I hear the after party can be worser, as it occurs after everyone is already fully lubricated.
“I believe that the reason he did testify so clearly and so well that it was just coming from the heart,”
It was heartfelt by the perp as well.
Sounds like someone took the wisdom to heart, “make sure yours is the only story told”.
Kel-Tec has some pretty innovative ideas.
The ability to shoot rubber bands from a rail mount is awesome. The optional crossbow mounts the same way and uses sharpened pencils.
The sharpener is in the butt plate with extra pencils in various configurations and colors.
Careful with those sharpened pencils, Beans. You might put an eye out.
When I was kid playing with the vacuum cleaner (no, not that) I realized that you could reverse the thing and make it blow. So I used some lamp hardware to configure a nozzle and filled the hose with white beans from moms cupboard.
Viola! instant machine gun. Just shake the hose every few hundred rounds.
My dad got pissed when all the beans sprouted on the lawn.
Then I joined the Army.
Did your dad harvest any of those beans for future use?
Nah, just mowed them like everything else.
Had a friend who pissed off his base commander in Vietnam, and instead of going ROD was placed on casual to work out his last days there. They directed him to seed the commander’s lawn. He figured he was home and ETS’ed a few weeks when the tomatoes, potatoes, pot, peas, and every other seed he used started to come up.
Shoulda, coulda, had oughta, woulda, been 3/0/0. But we’ll take a 1/2/0. The 2 will show up at the morgue eventually if not sooner. Good on Granny for protecting the homeplace. Jackson Co GA is not a very big place and has an excellent LEO group. I know some of them up there. Still took more than 10 minutes for help to get there. Also it’s a good little distance from Dallas GA to Jackson Co.
Loves me some shottie type gunz pr0n. The attachments that 26’beans talked about could come in handy when you wanted to rub someone out, or erase the error of their ways.
And Canada takes the trophy home with the attitude that you do not have the right to defend yourself against home invaders and that you must have a permit to own a firearm and you must not be able to use it if you own it…
Stupid fucking liberals…
I hate libtards…

Well, you see, the criminal might get hurt if you defended your kingdom. It’s wise to keep a shovel handy, and a compost heap going in the back yard.
Quebec province has passed New York style gun laws like registering all “assault weapons” and turning in standard 30 round magazines… they too are getting minimal compliance and the cops there say they have no plans to enforce, either.
Might be more to the story:
AW1 or David, look up the “Red Flag bill” that they are trying to pass, for the second time, in the Colorado Legislature. Smells to me like those open fish markets in a land far away.
I have to offer Judy’s opinion of snow in Waukesha.

The Dallas story: “The wounded man…”, not “The gunshot victim” as lots of news orgs write.
Police cam footage released to public of deadly NAPA officer involved shooting, one more perp going room temp. Sorry but due to lack of experience (ok ignorance as am not computer junkie), was from TV station in Cali which I can no longer find either as disappeared from face on the book feed.

The KSG pump shotgun is quite a piece of firepower. I attended a tactical shotgun course where one of the students was using one for the course. Unfortunately for him, it had multiple feeding problems. But that was about four or five years ago; I hear they have improved them since then. It has two seven shot MAGAzine tubes, so you can load one with slugs and the other with buckshot, and switch between mags to select which round is appropriate to the target. Needless to say, it provides the most shotgun home defense firepower, except for its double barreled cousin. “This MAGA country, bitchez,” says Jussie.
I have heard numerous times that they don’t feed well!
I’ve seen that mentioned on several websites. Integral tube problem potentially wouldn’t be so easy to fix.
I (may or may not)own 2 KelTecs. I’ve had no problems with the pocket pistol. The 5.56 pistol(Feinstein fave)had some feeding issues, but that turned out to be the aftermarket magazine I bought. Once I changed that, no more problems. No problems with the mag that came with the pistol either.
That’s the only problem I ever had with one of my Glocks as well…new mag, no further problems.
