Over year old photos? UFB.
Walgreens employee fatally shoots man after photos dispute
By SEAN MURPHY | Associated Press

OKLAHOMA CITY – An employee at a Tulsa Walgreens with a concealed-carry license fatally shot an armed man after an argument that began at the photo counter, police said Thursday.

The man who died after the shooting Wednesday evening was identified as William Hurley, Tulsa police spokeswoman Jeanne Pierce said. Another Walgreens employee and a customer also were struck by gunfire and hospitalized. Pierce said both are expected to survive.

Pierce said the altercation began when the store clerk tried to verify that Hurley was the rightful owner of the photographs, which had been in Walgreens’ possession for more than a year. Video from inside the store showed Hurley pull out a handgun, jump over the counter and grab the photos from the clerk while employees were trying to call police, Pierce said.

Hurley, 52, appeared to be leaving with the photographs, but then apparently returned and went back toward the clerk.

“(Hurley) then came back over the counter, and a clerk who was 28 years old, who had a concealed-carry license and was armed, pulled his own weapon and shot the deceased,” Pierce said.

Like a good neighbor…
Neighbor shoots domestic violence suspect who barged into home, Pasco deputies say
William Rogers was pronounced dead on Belcher Lane near the Cypress Creek Flood Detention Area.

LAND O’ LAKES, Fla — A neighbor fatally shot a man accused of domestic violence against a woman shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday in Pasco County, deputies say.

A 51-year-old woman ran to call 911 after “a domestic violence incident” with 55-year-old William Rogers at their Belcher Lane home, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said she went to the home of neighbor Brian Scruggs, 50, but William followed her inside without permission.

“Brian Scruggs, the homeowner, confronted William and asked him to leave multiple times, at which point Brian defended himself by shooting William,” sheriff’s office spokesperson Benecia Holder wrote in an email.

William Rogers died at the scene, law enforcement said.

Detectives have not yet released any further information.

Ahh, the 44-40. The first real marriage of long rifles and pistols. Same cartridge and decent knock down. Made infamous by Hollywood. Used by a number of Sitting Bull/Crazy Horse’s Braves to kick Custers ass. Liked the headline about Harriet. Yes, dims heads would blow slap wide open if ALL of her history was common knowledge. Local city spent millions of taxpayer dollars to build a Taj Mahal museum for her. Still taxpayer supported. None of what is in the headline under her picture is mentioned.

BTW 2 DRT is a real good start for the weekend.

Your firearms I.D. is close, but it is more likely the less well known Winchester Model 1876, which has a larger, longer frame and is designed for rifle caliber rather than for pistol caliber cartridges. I compared the photo to a repo in my gun safe.

I concur. 1876. The frame forward of the loading port is long enough for a rifle cartridge.

Big medicine. Good choice.

So Hattie has – well, disappointed the bubble-brained feminists by being a stand-up gun owner?

Good. Any other pleasant surprises waiting in the wings?

That would make a cool portrait on the double sawbuck though.

Ex-PH2

I was thinking that, too.

Curious as to what the photos show.
Worth dying over?

Sounds like the clerk may be legally vindicated in shooting the customer that came back and threatened him with a gun. But as for Walgreen’s policies, he may be out of a job. Too bad.

Nice way to start the day, 2DRT and on their way to meet the man under the ghetto !!!

The clerk pulled out his weapon when the perp came back and jumped over the counter and he shot the deceased. If the person was already deceased then why would the clerk shoot him if he was already deceased. I’m confused.

Ex-PH2

You’re confused.

This is why Sister Mary Grace gets out her No. 15 yellow pencil and starts marking up composition papers written by functionally illiterate twits.

Roger in Republic

“Shot the deceased” wouldn’t that be Desecration of a corpse? That is a crime in most jurisdictions.

11B-Mailclerk

I believe writers call that “foreshadowing”.

Of course, when my Literature class was told of the technique of “Checkov’s Gun” I piped up with.

“Phaser!”
