That word you use, ‘gunlock.’ I do not think it means what you think it means.
Man shot in Gulfport walked into pawn shop with a sledgehammer, broke glass, took a gun, worker says
By John Fitzhugh and Robin Fitzgerald
Gulfport — Workers at a downtown pawn shop say they fired shots at a robber who then found himself being shot at by police on Monday night.
The man walked into 24 Hour Quick Cash & Pawn with a sledge hammer and said he wanted to look at TVs, said a pawn shop employee who gave only his first name, John.
Pawn shop workers didn’t think anything about the man coming in with a sledge hammer Monday afternoon because the shop buys tools, he said. John said he followed the man to the TV section.
“But we didn’t make it that far back. He stopped immediately at the guns and smashed a glass cabinet with the sledgehammer and grabbed a gun and started running.
“We let off about four rounds and then we heard about three more rounds coming back to us,” John said. “I assumed he was shooting back at us.”
John said he hadn’t been worried about the man firing at them with the stolen gun.
“The gun had a gun lock on it,” he said.
It’s unclear whose shots wounded the man, identified as Anthony Moody.

Official says deadly shooting Tuesday morning was justifiable
By: WBRZ Staff
BATON ROUGE – Officials believe a shooting that allegedly stemmed from a domestic dispute early Tuesday morning was a justifiable killing.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on North Marque Ann Drive. Police say 44-year-old Kendral Muse was shot at the home and taken to a hospital where he later died.
“It appeared this woman was put into a situation where she was injured and was required to defend herself,” District Attorney Hillar Moore said. “We believe this point as much as we know now that she took justifiable action.”
A police spokesperson said a female suspect was taken into custody and questioned. That person, who police said was dating Muse, has since been released.
The exact details surrounding the shooting are unclear, but this time of year authorities typically see an increase in domestic violence.

Man robs pawn shop and has a gun he stole that supposedly has gun lock on and is supposedly to have fired back at employees. Sorry but I’m confused, gun with gun lock with clip in it and loaded, too many things weird here. Who displays a loaded gun in a display case, most don’t even display them with the clip in the gun.
If it were a pawn shop that dealt in tazers, none of this nonsense would have had to happen. Even loaded tazers.
Wow, what a great idea, tazers are sold in pawn shops as well as guns. Break case open shoot clerks with tazer, grab bunch of guns and leave, instant street cred to the ones who get the illegal weapons as well as more guns on the streets for gangs and felons. Have to tell this idea of yours to some people I might know. Thanks Old Manchu, good Chinese philosophy.

True
AW1ED, I understand that there are many types of what is considered gun locks, both external and some internal. I just am wondering how one can steal a gun that is supposedly on display that had a possible loaded clip in it, says there was return fire of some type. Kinda sounds like a lot of laws broke here by seller
Friends, I don’t witness the events or write the stories, I just post the articles as they are published.
As for Mr. Sledge Hammer, I can only make the reasonable assumption the firearm he stole from the display was empty and inoperable, so one may assume he already had a firearm in his possession for use in the crime.
This is a great example why many 2nd amendment supporters call a given MSM story on firearms, “An article with something wrong in it.”
Back to your regularly scheduled Thanksgiving Day festivities.

I am speculating, but it is possible what the shopkeepers heard were their own shots, and possibly their own slugs and/or brass bouncing around.
Indoor gunplay can produce some weird sounds, especially one everyone’s ears are overloaded and/or bleeding.
Mook Hammer may have pointed the stolen gun at the clerks, but odds are he didn’t get it loaded and operating.
Unless he had inside help. Very stupid help.
All are equally valid arguments, and thanks to poor reporting we’ll never know.
Funny, now that you mention it, one report says man was armed and second one says that are not sure if stolen weapon was recovered. I guess if you carry a sledge hammer, your armed.
Hand guns do not use “clips” for the most part. Semi-auto pistols use magazines.
Dwight, I think it was the popo shooting at the perp. Obviously, the pawn shop would not have a loaded gun in the display case, plus it had a trigger lock in place. I do question the judgment of the employees in shooting at the perp; had they hit him they would have legal problems as they knew he was not effectively armed with a firearm.
Doesn’t say as to who did hit him with their shots and seeing as to he managed to run 4 blocks after exiting the shop before collapsing tells me could have been either as were all shooting at his back. As to the clerks, if some dude bigger than me was to enter anywhere I was and started swinging a sledge hammer I would consider it a threat on my life and dang sure shoot him.
I wonder if Anthony was really moody when he robbed the pawn shop.
A question. Who, or whom, do we send any Feel Good stories to, if we stumble upon one or more that haven’t already made the pages here? Or just post em when we find em?
Still sorting that out, as the admin email is still down. There’s an FGS posted daily, so you could put the link there with a notice and one of the elite FGS TAH staff will take a look. If used, the sender will get credit for the link.
Not ideal, but a stopgap until the admin email is up. Work for you?
Sure does, thanks Ed. I appreciate all that everyone is doing to keep TAH up and running. One could say, I’m thnkful for your efforts.
Well, I fat-fingered ‘thankful’.
No harm no foul, and thank you.
