Man Shot On Red Line Disarms Shooter, Beats Him With Gun: Cops
By Joe Vince, Patch Staff

The shooter told police that he opened fire in self-defense after an argument turned violent on the train over the weekend.

CHICAGO — A South Shore parolee who was shot on a Red Line train over the weekend disarmed the shooter and then pistol-whipped the 24-year-old man with the gun, breaking the weapon in two, according to authorities. Both men were hospitalized, and the shooter told Chicago police that he was acting in self-defense, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Roy Lee — the 38-year-old man who was shot — was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in the incident. He is being held without bail, and a hold has been placed on him by state prison officials, according to the Tribune.

The shooting happened at around 12:15 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, on a Red Line train traveling from the Loop to the Cermak-Chinatown Station, the report stated. The shooter — who has concealed carry license — told police that he opened fire in self-defense after Lee, an acquaintance, started beating him following an argument, the report added.

A California man was shot early Thursday morning by a Frederick County, Va. woman who claims it was in self-defense.

According to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a 911 call on Lake Holiday Road just before 1 a.m., by a caller who allegedly shot her acquaintance twice in the leg.

The victim, Jimmy Tucker, 42, of Victorville, Calif. allegedly made repeated unwanted sexual advances toward the woman in her home, leading her to fear for her safety. When the woman told Tucker to leave her residence, deputies say he refused and threatened to kill her.

The Chicago story made me stupid. I had to re-read it a few times and I’m still not certain I get it. The “shooter” apparently was not the shooter but was the would-be shooter. The actual shooter was the victim. I think.

OWB

Just to be clear, did someone go free and another somebody is still hospitalized but being held for another agency? In Chicago.

Obviously, the guy being held is not one of those precious immigrants.

OldManchu

Leg shots! Two of ’em. Boom-boom.

Told yall it can be done. No killing needs to happen. If you or an innocent fMily member are attacked, just shoot the perp in the leg so they can continue to make their friends laugh, turn their life around, enroll at junior college, and sing in their grandma’s church choir.

Leg shots or tazers.

Dwight Schwarz

Let’s see, tazer, after he stops break dancing on the floor, if were no drugs in his body, he would get up and more than likely be very mad and kill the one with the tazer, great idea. Shoot in legs, law suit by good lawyer, receive welfare and disability for rest of life. Seems like a good deal as then still can commit crimes for rest of life either way, but then that is the trend these days for you gun grabbers, more live criminals and less safety for the rest of us. Sorry but not my plan for me or my family to live in.

Hack Stone

You may want to update your Sarcasm Recognition Software. Fortunately, the proud but humble woman owned business that sells software is running a special this week; tell us where we can find the body of Elaine Ricci, and you get a 10% discount.

Dwight Schwarz

Who, me be sarcastic, I thought I was being nice and withheld my sarcasm. As to locating someones body, that is easy as they are usually buried somewhere, if you don’t believe me, go check a cemetery as are a lot buried there or a swamp or a bay or in the woods, course the Mafia likes cement.

OldManchu

You withheld your sarcasm just fine. 🙂

Wilted Willy

Sorry, but I will always put 3 in center mass and one in the brain bucket for good measure! No trials, no arrests and best of all, no more crime from the perp! I love the groin shot in the above story, at least keep the perp from adding to the gene pool!!

Dwight Schwarz

Was my thought also but I was trying to be nice and not make the old? one mad, never want to make elder folks mad.

OldManchu

You won’t make me mad. I realize some people think shoot to kill is the best way. I used to think that way too. But I’ve evolved to come up with what I believe works best in these criminal perp situations:

Hugs
Tazers
Leg Shots

In that order.

Dwight Schwarz

Geez it is nice to know that these methods would have helped Jack Graham, Timothy, Adam, Devin, Eric, Dylan, Robert, Thomas, Tim, and Gary, wonder how old I have to get to evolve as am past 30 now.

Dwight Schwarz

Oh old, before you ask, all are dead except Gary who is in Washington state, 3 were executed and rest killed selves or have died. The 3 executed were in Colorado and though I saw the results of 2 of them’s deeds on TV, as to the third I saw his results from my side yard at the time at night when I was 9 years old.

OldManchu

Who are these folks you speak of? Are they the criminals or are they the victims? I’m sorry I don’t know who they are.

Dwight Schwarz

They are just some of the criminal perp types you want to hug to save their misguided lives and none of whom I would hug or tazer or shoot in legs at any time before or after

Learn some history and your view to many will change as to hug or shoot and yes I was 9 when Jack Gilbert Graham bombed the plane that killed his mother and 43 others near Mead Colorado in 1955 and saw the flames from our side yard and also went with father (volunteer fireman) to near crash site, leaves a lasting impression.

OldManchu

They were probably done wrong by white police or racial / social injustice at some point early in life. So it’s not their fault they were criminals.

OldManchu

Too much? I was hoping he would note my sarcasm and have some fun. Sorry.

Dwight Schwarz

Didn’t mean to stir pot but found out all I need to know from him so will just consider the source from now on and ignore.

OWB

Or you might consider doing as was suggested to start with and have your sarcasm meter refurbed.

Dwight Schwarz

Now that hack has got me started, hit them in the teeeeny weiney, heck most of them have enough problems finding it on their own and now you suggest that people should mount a microscope on their guns, too much of a problem, one right, one left and one in big head center.

5th/77th FA

Kill. Them. All. God will sort them out. The choir is full, so are the junior college classes on gender studies and underwater basket weaving.

Dwight Schwarz

Gender studies, they have that now, darn I missed it, wonder what the home work is like.

CCO

Statistics and delusion, I’d expect.

You may have been thinking of something else.

Dwight Schwarz

Sorry CCO, mind went in gutter for a minute.

So the guy walks into the Barber shop and sees the prices are too high and figures the place is a real “Clip” joint and attacks the Barber. Hair today, gone tommoro. Sounds like the Parolee got off on the wrong track by attacking the CCW holder. If he’d have gotten on the right track, everything would be Jake.
